I've just chaged my aircon compressor (Ta Kirbs) as the last one sounded like the tracks on a tank when turned on. I've now heard that you can't just fill it up with new R type gas but you have to put some special seals on? My car is a 91 import, so I assume it has had the old gas in.. Any one know any one in the NW who can refill it for me?

Chris,no problem, anywhere that does aircon can sort it with drop in gas which is designed to be used with systems originally filled with R12 just ensure the correct amount of mineral oil is inserted otherwise the compressor will pack up again, should cost between £50 and £80 dependant on where you go.
