read lots about these but what exactly do they do ? and how important are they? steve

My standard steering wheel has seen better days, and the 'Nismo' steering wheel cover that I got off eBay looks absolutely poo :( , so I'm looking at aftermarket wheels. :hyper: But, I want to retain the cruise functions somehow - has anybody done this successfully? If so, do you have to relocate the switches/where to/how do you do it etc. Your wisdom is appreciated folks.... ;)

Just when I thought id sorted the problem out another one starts! Driving along quite happily earlier on when it starts missing one or two cylinders. It's been doing it ever since - really lumpy at low revs, struggling up the scale, and then almost normal over say 4000. The cars been burning rich recently on and off cos of my BOVs - would this cause a couple of the plugs to gradually carbon up?

Struggling after fitting an HKS EVC boost controller. Installed as it should be will only give a max of 9-10 psi even if set to max :eek: When SBC completely disconnected won't run more than 5psi - )EVC reading and analogue guage readings). If one of the turbos was shot would I get 0 psi or could this be the cause because the balance bar might be compensating? I'm certain there's no leaks. Don't think it's in safety boost either. After all the problems i got, another has raised its ugly head. When sat idling, say in traffic lights and then pull away i get a quick puff of smoke out the back. at a guess id say it was blue, but its a bright say and its was a quick puff of smoke.

Pretty cheesed off! Went to get a quote for getting my spoiler fitted today. Its the spoiler from the group buy a couple of months back. The guy at the body shop said the finish off the spoiler was sh1t and it will need a couple of hours prepairing before it gets fitted. There goes the money i saved from the group buy then!! :mad: The quality really is pretty shitty round the edges. Very rough. Did anyone else who took part in the group buy have the same problem? Anyway, has anyone got a pic of a 300 tailgate with the spoiler removed? He wants a better idea of the work invoved before he can give me a quote. No fitting instructions with the spoiler ya see.

My zed is overheating when you flooring hard mainly when you get over 70 mph.....it looses coolant from the bottle as well.... I have reciently flushed the cooling system as there was brown sludge in the water and no antifreeze as the previous owner couldnt be bothered to use it!!!. Refilled with 40% antifreeze / coolant still overheating......Radiator cap seems to be hissing and letting coolant back into bottle when very hot.....Auxillery fan on all the time after driving down motorway even while stationary..... Viscous fan locked on also after driving down motorway... No air bubbles in radiator while cap off and engine idleing.....No while smoke or drops of wate…

I have a vented headlamp grill on mine but want to put the original on and have the badge smoothed over. Being a UK spec I popped the badge off and there is a fairly large imprint of the Nissan logo. I took it to a bodyshop and asked them to fill it and spray it and they refused. They said it would just crack and pop out? Has anyone else done this successfully?

Very odd but there's an intermittent clicking coming from the rear offside wheel. I'm pretty sure all the wheel nuts are tight, the brake pads have been done a short while back & I've also checked the hand brake assembly. Sometimes there's no noise whatsoever yet other times it does it continuously! Is there anyone else that's had this annoying problem who could shed some light on this? Cheers, Shaun

hi i've got another prob.my car vibrates at 40mph upwards.it feels as though i'm sitting on top of the vibration.it does it most of the time but not always.i've had my wheels balanced and my tracking checked but my front tyres seem to wear out evenly but quite quickly.could the vibrating be the prop and could that contribute to the quick front tyre wear??thanks.

hi can anyone explain how to get at the fog light bulbs?the two screws on the front of my lenses just keep turning and don't seem to do anything???also mine is a jap import so can i get bulbs for it here.thanks for any help.

Ok... got a bad damp/ sweet smell when I put the heat on, OR the Air Con - it seems to start after about a minute or so. Now, first thought is the heater matrix... but can't find any water anywhere, and rads full. Seen a few previous threads on this, but seems odd that the smell only comes after a while - should be there all the time if matrix leaking?!?! There's no obvious leaves stuck anywhere, but guess I'll have a proper look later. Anything else that can cause it? It's definately a damp smell as well as a sweet smell (which to me seems like coolant, but it's not leaking!?!?). Any thoughts guys/ gals :confused: :confused: Rich

Hi, I have been with Carole Nash for the last year £350 :hyper: approx Full Comp. They have just sent the renewal through of £400 :shock: on the nose.. Thought I'd shop around, waiting for one off my local Insurance Broker http://www.impactinsurance.co.uk who reccon they can beat it. Any others? whilst changing pads&discs i noticed oil leaking from o/s shock :cry: there GAB shocks which came with the car when i bought it would this explain uncomfortable driving EG..if driving down a lumpy road the car thumps over every bump :confused: and isent nice are these symptoms of leaky shock or more bush related! whilst examining the area i noticed the tension rod bushes were coated in a sticky substance is this normal or are they fooked also :o any advice appreciated greg ;) ps..new uprated shocks on order anyway :D got to smile otherwise id sell the z and i dont want to! these cars make me so happy yet so sad at times

I have an aftermarket Autometer Pro-Comp Ultra-lite Boost Gauge (model 004477) that was fitted to the car when I bought it. Are these readings normal? Engine Off needle sits at 0. Engine on (Auto in drive) needle sits at 16-17 Hg (VAC side of gauge) Blasting on full throttle needle sits at 9 Psi (BOOST side of gauge) Foot off the gas needle sits at 20 Hg (VAC side of gauge) Any help appreciated.....
