Hello everyone, I am picking up the gear this weekend to start learning carbon fibre resin infusion. I am have a bunch of cheap fabric to learn with; and plenty of nicer material including carbon Kevlar etc for when I start building final parts. My aim is to create some gorgeous looking and strong aftermarket but oem shape parts for both the interior and exterior. I have searched some previous threads and sites and would like to compile a list of what is currently available and what people would like to see made. Seeing as some of this will require moulds to be build I would intend to be able to build the parts to order eventually (at which point a trader …

I was after some advice. I've just removed the cats from my 1989 tt manual, because they're blowing. I wondered if these would fit? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-TURBO-NON-TURBO-STAINLESS-STEEL-DE-CAT-DECAT-DOWNPIPE-EXHAUST-/230713275628?nav=SEARCH It concerned me that the ad states that they won't fit cars with pre cats. I've always been wary of removing the cats in case it reveals any turbo issues. There is no sign of any oil in the turbo elbows, is this a promising sign?

Hi everyone. After being away from a zed for 13 years I'm finally back with a very nice zed which i brought from a club member. I'm insuring it through Footman James and as it is a special one off zed it is insured quite a bit above market value. They have said it needs to have an Independant valuation done to corroborate the price i want to insure it for. Apparently a club member can do this so i was wondering if there is anyone relatively close to Farnborough that fancies meeting up, appreciating each other's cars and signing a form. Not had this before, offered pictures of the build with receipts but they just want someone else to agree on the price. Anyone out t…

So to comply with the request of this particularly fussy MOT tester I've had to renew my fog light situation. I've used the drivers side reverse light housing, to comply with "centre to offside" I purchased some SMD style red bulbs, on the assumption they would be bright as hell, sadly not so. So any recommendations of how to ensure its bright enough, I can see the conversation already of its not. I do not want to clutter the back of the car with some gash looking red dingle berry.

I'm considering having a pair of standard snails recon'd and uprated, rather than shelling out for brand new ones - good idea or bad? If a good idea, can anyone recommend a good place to have this done? If a bad idea, may I ask why...? Thanks :)

Hey, Has anyone used these - http://www.carpartcouriers.co.uk/acatalog/store.html#infolines Turns out it's surprisingly difficult to have a bumper couriered for less £100. Crazy. Anyway, I'm looking at Anyvan and the above. I hear Paisley Freight turned bad and now aren't in business.

I’ve just seen that someone has recently joined the club based in the U.S. with a Z31. This got me wondering how many other Z31 owners are on here. Personally, I’ve never seen a Z31 in the wild and I’m curious to know if anyone here has one, or knows someone who has one? Thanks

There are some howler adverts on Ebay at the moment, some of the sale cars are nothing less than scrap cars been sold as projects that could be worth £6k when you have done... yes spend £8k doing it up and it will be worth £6k doh! Anyhow copied and pasted a few save you looking through... enjoy !! 1) " So far it's had a full engine rebuild, and only driven 500miles before it was parked up. It needs the turbo`s replaced as they smoke. " Eh ? after a rebuild 2) "I was going to fix the turbo`s and do a full new paint job and sell for £6000" Eh? so buy for £2k (current bid) change turbo`s and repaint and goes up £4k in value ??? trouble is c…

Hello! So to continue on with my obsession with rebuilding parts of my zed now I am happy with my seats and ready to install the sub build I want to play with composites and am going to pick up a carbon fibre setup. The idea is to build some small a bits and bobs, and then perhaps try fabricating something larger like a spoiler or front lip. Does anyone had any thoughts or words of experience first hand in doing this? If it worked out I might look into getting set up as a trader to sell some bits seeing as I would have made he moulds anyway. I understand it will be a learning curve and take ages to get finished products, but retrimming Seats wasn'…

Hi guys, trying to choose a set of alloys for the car. I can't find a set of Borbets on a grey Z like mine. Would someone photoshop these wheels I found on ebay on to a grey 300z please? Guys, I have been back through previous threads but I am struggling to find my answer? Where is the best place to buy and should I be looking at any sort of upgrade? My main goal is reliability and although I gather that series 1 370cc injectors were upgraded on later models, the series 1's have lasted a long time up to now. Options please and where to buy?

Ok, so I have this plug coming from the passenger floor - But I have a fairly meaty connector on the passenger seat - The seat isn't heated (there were heated seat right?) but it is fully motorised. Normally I'd just cut the the plug off and 'hard-wire' it, with spade connectors. However, there are three thick wires on the seat side and only two thin wires on the car side, which is a bit odd. Oddly the drivers side is fine, big connector to big connector. The original seats (assuming they were original) only had a motorised 'power' seat on the drivers side. Given the thickness of the wires on the seat, I…

So as some of you know, for the last year or so I've been rebuilding my Z after having an engine failure at Vmax back in 2012. The aim of this rebuild has been to make the setup more efficient and rectifying what I believed contributed to the engine failure. The physical engine rebuild was completed late last year and it's been on and off the dyno (over 1000 dyno miles and 280 litres of fuel) since the beginning of the year. The main source of my issues has been around fuel delivery and maintaining fuel pressure. After going through a couple of fuel pumps and fuel pressure regulators (all of reputable brands like AEM, Tomei and SARD) and testing my Nismo 740's to fin…

Hello, So I am building a sub into the floor of the boot, and am almost at the point of putting the bottom on the box. Now I am wondering if there is any reason not to just fit the sub box sides directly to the boot floor? This would save the weight of the wood, and also create quite a solid base to the box??.. Would it cause a log of reverb through the chassis perhaps muddying the bass?
