  1. Looks great but lose the fog light and refit new reg plate without screws. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  2. I plan on attending this again this year, a great show at a great venue. http://www.battlesbridge.com/events
  3. Well today i got around to sorting this years insurance for the Z. I had already received my new quote from Lancaster and it was considerably more than last year. I got a new quote from Classicline whom i was insured with for the first 3 years of owning my Z. They came up with a great policy with all the extras for a lot less than lancaster so i have renewed with them. Its a shame to have to keep switching companies to get a fair price but thats the way it is i guess.
  4. Make sure you get a full receipt for both of you as you will be handing over the entire V5. You dont fill it out and post it to DVLA as when selling a car in the uk. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  5. Refund the payment and ask for cash. I recently sold a car to guy inbelgium and took a paypal deposit and took cash on collection. If the payment clears and you withdraw before he takes the car i wouldnt worry.
  6. Merry christmas to everyone. I took the Z out early this morning for a blast as the roads were dry. First time out since Ace Cafe meet.
  7. The k12 was the start of renault having an influence on nissan... it all went down hill from there. French cars are without doubt the worst cars in the world........
  8. As said you can use either a TT pedal which uses a servo behind the pedal under the dash and takes a vacuum from the plenum and gives you servo assisted clutch to make it lighter to depress. Or an NA pedal which won't give the servo assistance and therefore makes the pedal a bit harder to operate when operating a TT clutch. Some people use this setup and report that the pedal isn't overly heavy when using a stock TT clutch. This may be more of an issue if a clutch with a heavier pressure plate is used. You don't need any of the hydraulic pipework under the bonnet that a factory Manual has. Just a pipe from the master to the Slave. Do yourself a favour and fit a new slave cylinder and either a new master cylinder or one which has been rebuilt with a genuine nissan rebuild kit. The cost of these parts a pennies and will give you years of trouble free clutch operation.
  9. Single turbos are more efficient than twins? Thats a pointless statement. Efficiency of a single or twin turbo depends on many variables. Engine CC, flow characteristics etc etc all dictate which turbo is suited to a particular setup. I think you need to stop quoting things you read on tinterweb. And engine strength and reliability depends more on the quality of workmanship and tuning rather than an RB vs VG. A 300bhp RB or VG could destroy itself if its built or tuned badly. Besides if you want a seriously over engined stock engine fit a 1UZFE. 90 degree v8 over square short stroke with steel crank and 6 bolt mains........ Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  10. Yes that is a parachuting santa...... Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  11. I remember my mum having the Krooklok in her 1971 mini clubman estate......she still has the car and i reckon the krooklok is most likely still in it. Universal tat it may have been but its stood the test of time. Halfords has got me out of trouble on a sunday afternoon more than once. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  12. Performance car? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  13. I read somehwhere that at + 170mph the hp needed to increase speed by just a few mph was staggering. Theres alot more to driving fast than just the power..... Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  14. Theoretical calculations based on engine rpm gear ratios and wheel sizes are just that! Doing it is another story. I would bet most run of the mill Zeds would not see 180mph with "no problem" Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  15. No problem you say....... i disagree.
  16. Thanks chaps. I think this is a xmas present to myself. This is the start of returning my Z back to near original spec. A full strip out and respray is on the cards soon.
  17. Is the single din oem fascia still available from nissan uk? In the new year i think i will revert back to the original setup of single din.i already have the compartment with the door to go under the head unit. Touch screen in the Z is hard work and as Si has said the glare when the roof is off makes impossible to use.

That would be good. My sister lives in dublin so i could get the ferry from holyhead to there and then drive up to Belfast. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  19. Its not about changing at the red line at all. Its about having control over the car. You can select the correct gear for the speed and to suit exiting or entering a bend/corner. You can engine brake also which makes a massive difference. Auto boxes of this era just dont give you control like a manual. It spends alot of time between gears and unless your kicking it down coming out of a bend its always in the wrong gear. Kicking down in a powerful zed in the wrong hands on a bend will usually end up in mess. The boxes werent designed to be thrashed from 1 to D either. Thats the purpose of the power/hold switch. If you like the auto stick with it. Its just my advice to get a recon box in there this time and have done with it. Its not that expensive in the grand scheme of things is it really? I just done £1200 on a mattress so a recon auto box is relatively cheap. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  20. But how could you justify the cost of replacing 8 to 10 used boxes against 1 recon box and 1 swap? If you had to pay labour 8 to 10 times to do the job plus the cost of the boxes plus ATF etc your WELL over the cost of a recon i bet. Compared to cost if modern auto boxes a Z32 is cheap as chips i assure you. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  21. Exactly my point. Having done that now 3 times would you agree a recon at around £1200 is cost effective? People need to understand these cars cost money to maintain. People get fed up with them because "it"s had 3 boxes in 2 years" do the job right and do it once..... its not the car at fault is often the owner trying to cut corners and save money. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  22. Fitting used auto boxes is just a waste of time imo. If you really do like the auto and intend on keeping the car i think its worth paying the extra and having the transmission fully reconditioned. While its out. Then fitting a larger fluid cooler upfront with new lines going to the transmission. Check and make sure the wiring speed sensor and ECU are sound and you will be good to go. I could possibly be up for going here in 2018 if it's on. Hopefully my RX7 Project will be ready.
  24. Throw it All in the bin and get a manual in there. I guarantee you will return to this thread and wished you had. :innocent:
