  1. Funny you should say that, we had a C63 AMG in the other day for brakes and advised the rear tyres were quite low. The owner opted for Accelera tyres....... i wouldn't fit those to my wheelbarrow.
  2. I see allsorts of brands of tyre fitted at work and can honestly say that based on my experience in the trade that budget tyres don't perform well on big heavy powerful cars.... I see alot of sidewall tears (usually the inner which nobody sees) on lower quality budget tyres. Premature cracking and perishing is another problem i see alot of aswell. I understand everyone has a budget but i agree that tyres should be at the top of the list of things to not cheap out on. People throw thousands at performance upgrades then fit ditch finder tyres...... I personally run Michelin Pilot Sport 3 and love them. Wear rate is negligible to me as the confidence they give is priceless. I see some shocking tyres whilst carrying out MOT's and drivers should check them more often and check them properly, not just the sidewall facing you.
  3. Just take care when cornering hard as the Z is a sports car not a Fiat Multipla...
  4. You buy a ford galaxy or worse a citroen picasso for practicality. As said pull out the ashtray and you will find a coffee cup sits nice in there. Thats all you need.....
  5. I would rather die of thirst than have that.....
  6. My first Z had this '89 JDM. Very refreshing whilst in shorts.....[emoji16]
  7. Is the panel that goes inside tailgate over wiper motor still there? Condition? Thanks Chris
  8. That colour change has taken years off your car Si.
  9. I will post as soon as i know exactly how this is all going to be implemented as things can and do change last minute with these new proposals. What i will say is don't confuse "construction and use" regs with the MOT regs. They are completely different.
  10. Certainly are Andrew. They need some TLC But thats half the fun of purchasing something with age. The coloured pieces are all perfect which really matters, one will go on the rear wall of the garage later this year after i have fitted a new pitched roof on it and fitted some interlocking floor tiles for the Z to rest on.
  11. Aha! Not a restoration on the Z but these....... I plan on stripping them down and having the chromed pieces re finished and rebuilding with LED. They have neon tubes at present inside and on the rear to project ambient backlight onto the wall.
  12. Obviously this would be reversed on a left hand drive vehicle as the arrow would point the wrong way. :smartass:
  13. Hope its fitted in the correct direction.....
  14. Joel is of athletic build and runs, i only run to catch Greggs before they close.
  15. My zed is a snug fit in my garage. Just enough room to get out (providing i stop eating left over Roses and Heroes)
  16. With Joels skills and access to all sorts of mystical components and gizmos he probably built a shrink ray gun....... is this correct Dr Gru?
  17. Is that gear gaiter string from a box in your mums bathroom cabinet?
  18. Also remember when your on throttle (NA engine or FI) your vacuum wont be there to give assistance when you first brake after letting off the throttle so the valve again helps maintain that vacuum until the manifold vacuum increases after the throttle body is closed.
  19. The check valve maintains a vacuum within the servo should the vacuum provided by the engine (or vacuum pump) fail allowing some servo assistance until the vacuum depletes. It also stops the servo being put under positive pressure (boost) from the inlet manifold. No harm in replacing it with a new one. Probably the same valve fitted to other cars if its NLA for a Z.
  20. I get that, but if the plate was simply attached to the bumper then the whole bracket wouldnt be needed. Same for the front i guess too. Suppose its just another example of cars being made better back then. Not all melted down bottle tops like todays crap.
  21. Why is the rear plate bracket such a complex affair? It has a hinge which seems overly engineered for its purpose? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  22. It does suit i will admit. Because you have the black lugs at the bottom and black screw caps which are correctly spaced it looks correct. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  23. You really should also get the correct size rear plate. Doesnt overhang the bumper then. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  24. 3M vhb tape Si. Great stuff and never lets go if properly applied. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
