Traders and MOT checking
Same here Gary, although they can be obtained online as show plates with no checks at all. Makes the system pointless really. And anyone can purchase the materials to make plates themselves like the traders at car shows.

Traders and MOT checking
True. But at least try to make it less easy.....

Traders and MOT checking
And lets say you stole a black bmw 330i cabriolet in london and wanted to drive it to manchester for stripping, you go straight on auto trader do a search via the model and colour etc and voila, a whole selection of reg plates for you to choose from. Make the plates and off you go. You can even ensure the reg you choose is shown as insured taxed and has mot.

Traders and MOT checking
Because people will look through for sale adverts then fill out a v5 application for the vehicle and try to obtain the v5. We had a van for sale at work and this is what happend. Also, ever seen written off vehicles on a transporter with the reg taped over? Same reason, stops people copying the reg for a dodgy motor.

Traders and MOT checking
Using the Mot system as an indication of a cars current or previous condition isnt a great way of doing so. Very little is actually checked during an Mot and a pass doesn't mean its roadworthy. YOU as the buyer are responsible for making your checks and using independent assessors (if need be) to give an accurate indication as to its true condition. Blanking the reg for an advert means nothing. I do it whenever i sell a car, but i will gladly disclose it to a potential buyer once i have their details.

What did you do to your zed today?
The vertical loading is transmitted from the coilover to the top mount, this is always in compression and the 2 small bolts only serve to keep the top mount in position. Triangulation is the best way to make anything stiffer just like in engineering or roof construction, a brace from the top mount to the bulk head (like bmw) is a much better solution aslong as the attachment point on the bulk head is designed to take the loading placed on it by the brace.

Milage adjustment
Accurate? How accurate is the mileage on these type of cars? So much gets renewed that the mileage doesnt tell much.
-
Milage adjustment
No. Mileage is of no importance on the test.
-
Milage adjustment
Too little a difference to worry about. Document the change with the date and leave it at that.

Replacing all my Intake & Exhaust Valve Sets
Its not an expensive job. Give the heads and all the valves to the shop and have them do all the work.
-
Replacing all my Intake & Exhaust Valve Sets
Lapping is no good for new valves. You MUST have the seats and valves cut to suit each other.
-
Replacing all my Intake & Exhaust Valve Sets
Overkill tbh i think. Your valves and seats will need to be seated to ensure a proper seal and not permit excessive heat transfer due to excessive seat contact area. The stock valves are viewed as very good and with a reseat i think they will be fine.

Toyota Supra twin turbo
Simple answer....... 2JZ. Supras have always commanded more money than a Z. I think also think supras are considered by most as a more cool kind of car than a Z. I think its also fair to say that in this country at least the Z owner is of the more senior type than youngsters and this makes them less cool to own. I would choose a Z over a supra any day but thats not to say i wouldnt own a supra. The same massive price hike can be seen on the RX7 FD, i have 2 of them, have a look at the asking price for those nowadays!. These jdm cars are getting fewer as the years go by and its obvious that nice tidy original examples of any marque will only go up in value. [emoji41]

L drivers on motorways !!
What utter nonsense. In one breath you say its rediculous to allow L drivers on motorways but in the next you say its wrong to allow a new full licence holder on a motorway. The instructor is responsible enough to know when a driver is ready for motorway experience and experience gained whilst in the presence of a the instructor is surely better and safer than when on their own. And lets be honest here its usually the more senior members of the driving community that cause the most problems anyway. At least taking an L driver on a motorwat may lead to them not driving at 55mph in lane 2 or 3 which really boils my piss. I think it's a great idea personally.
