1uzfe 4.0 v8
As i understand it there is no manual transmission that bolts to it. There is also no flywheel that matches the crank bolt pattern. However there are many adaptor plates and flywheels made for this engine. Apparently the 350z gearbox/getrag from a 3 series or zf from a 5 series is a good fitment. I have a spare tt z32 manaul in the workshop and prop and complete tt rear end if needed.

1uzfe 4.0 v8
So I have acquired a Lexus LS400 with the 1UZFE engine running smooth as silk, I'm thinking of transplanting this engine coupled to a manual gearbox into something else with a bit less weight to it.... Question is what donor vehicle would be a good choice as a base? Currently I'm considering S14. Any opinions?

Forgot to say also your point about health and safety gone mad. This is mostly enforced due to EU Standards is it not?

No turning back.
Lots of negatives there jeff which is a shame. Maybe brexit will be the big kick in the back side this country is in need of, its unfair to complain about the state of the uk and then complain again once changes are being made to hopefully correct it. Lets hope not everyone with wealth within the uk "pulls everything out" to kick back in a country they are not "indigenous" to.......
-
No turning back.
But this country served you well jeff for all the years you worked in it and saved the money to sit where you are now in the sun drinking cocktails and being on the forum most of the time...... Dont write this country off because you feel your in a better place. Nobody really knows what lies ahead but lets face it times of late havent been good for alot of reasons. OUR choice has been made so lets just get on with it :thumbup1: Health to enjoy. :punk:

MOT question
If it was only high on one side u can park on level ground turn on your lights and use the other one for reference, or if its both use another car with adjuster set to 0 if it has one and do the same but mark the beam height on the wall and swap cars and set your car to that. That is a crude way to do it and to be honest your test centre should allow you to adjust (if they work) during the test.

When tony applied on our behalf we all received our passes in the post and got listed in the event program. No probs individually applying though.
