  1. It should be the movment of air you can hear, rather than the fan itself. The volume of air being pulled can be noisy on engine startup, but should then quieten down quite quickly. When cold(er) the Viscous should spin freely by hand, and when warmer there should be more resistance. However...Its quite normal for a viscous fan to be locked up when completely cold. So it will be noisy for the first few seconds, even up to a minute or so on engine startup. But then the fluid will starts circulating and the fan will slow down to correct speed for cold running. It will then start to lock up and get faster as temperature rises..but should not then be that loud, unless overheating.

Nice pics all , but they are FAR too small to be decent Desktop backgrounds !! need much BIGGER
  3. Just been out to check this one, and yeh, Im very suprised on that, they are different. The LWB one is longer and wider, and even the hinge bracket itself is deeper.
  4. Nice one, good idea. yeh the console itself is all the same, but because the part behind on a swb would interfere with the opening of a lwb armrest, the armrest is shorter and with hinge changes, so it opens differently too.
  5. Its for simpler adjustment of timing. But since you say you cant see timing mark you dont happen to have an ebay Lightweight crank pulley do you ?
  6. Stock or Cometic Especially the cheap pattern sets sold via ebay - the difference in quality is very evident and half of the seals/gaskets dont even line up at all properly.
  7. £895 , If it runs without major problems and just needs some tlc then its is reasonable, but Prices vary wildly with sx's, and the s14 is the least desirable. 8yrs is a long time for a car to sit, items like seals will have dried and started to perish
  8. No idea where I got that pic from, its been in my Zed folder for years

  10. 10" fronts, 12" rears - according to his Rides
  11. errr....except I just noticed the delivery time. Ah well, im sure there are other sellers.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DRAPER-PISTOL-GRIP-XENON-IGNITION-STROBE-TIMING-LIGHT-/330473449908 £20 .....or £6.66 each :) Bargain !
  13. ^^ Yep, I doubt anyone is running as wide as Jaffa on the front. Bear in mind that Jaffa has had extensive arch mods(rolling) done. I presume your running 2-3 degrees (or more) neg camber as well Jaffa ? The fronts stick out approx 6cm more than stock, and about 2.5cm more than the usual flush fitment.
  14. 046 is not a valid code. Fiesta batteries are WAAYY lower cold cranking amps and capacity (a lot less grunt). Unless you mean a diesel battery. Diesel batteries run higher CCA and Capacity.
  15. 071 is incorrect. Terminals the wrong way around. Take it back. 068 is the correct fitment, and I believe this may have now been superceeded, but unsure of new code. As I've said before - All the listings the 300zx in Battery supplier listings are all incorrect, I believe they show Z31 data instead.
  16. very nice
  17. The TT pump is rated at 255 lph at stock pressures. Although I recall there being some comparisons that proves it outflows the walbro 255. Depends on voltage and pressure though.
  18. £30 second hand £250 + new not sure about refurbishing costs.
  19. yep, source a H3c or modify a regular H3 to fit.........but by far the best option is to fit a HID Kit ! Available from about 30quid, a h3 6000k kit will do the job perfectly. (dont need a h3c kit for HIDs on imports, just a h3 kit due to the way the connectors work). Its a straight plug-n-play fitment and it transforms the cars lighting. and the 3pin one is a H1 for the Full beam, yeh.
  20. ok, unless im mistaken from the pictures I think you meant dipped beam, rather than Sidelights ? (The sidelights reside in the Foglight enclosures in an Import, and in the Indicator housing in a UK car) The Dipped beam is a H3c in an Import, and a H3 in a Uk car. The difference is with how it earths at the connector. H3c are very difficulty to find at a typical retailer, avilable online or at more specialist retailers. Or you can fit a regular H3 bulb and solder on a second lead onto the metal base with spade a connector at the other end for plugging into the stock connector.
  21. Motorsport (rally) played a big part in the success of the Impreza and EVO, but i dont believe motorsport has been a big factor in the popularity of the GTR or the lack of popularity of the 300zx in the UK. Programs like Top gears review of the GTR no doubt had a big impact, and the F&F films do seem to of had a significant impact for the Supra and Rx7. Ironically, The first F&F film was actually based on a guy in the states that used to street race his 300zx, but for some reason they opted for differnet cars in the film. The 300zx is heavily underrated, compared to its mainstream competitors. If you ask most car enthusiasts about the 300zx their opinion is that its an old, overweight, unreliable and expensive to maintain tourer. The way it drives and Its overall performance and dynamics as a sports car are very undervalued/unrecognised.
  22. up to and including 94 they used the VG30DETT, until it was outlawed so they changed to the VH V8 for 1995.
  23. I did'nt see it before, but it reads like it was purchased with knackered engine and autobox and this is coming with replacement engine and manual conversion ?
