  1. yep, with 5377 'was it you' sightings.
  2. Removig the aircon rad would'nt of helped you, but Inlet hoses definatly have to be removed, its all about getting it in at the right angle...but not too much angle.....remove the screws that hold the metal inlet pipes to the slam panel brackets will give you a bit more wiggle room. Removing the Viscous fan (if you have one) can allow you to get it in at a different angle. Swearing at it definatly helps, you do need to use some force, but its the endtanks that take it rather than the fins.
  3. Im younger than John, but a few years older than you (31). Sounds about right to me.
  4. You definatly need to shop around John. I have no NCB, I dont have a clean license, Im younger and im only paying £500 a year on my 93 Import Slicktop TT
  5. Yep, was Imported by 'Kirbz' and owned by 'machine' for a couple years, before he sold it on. Very Impressive car.
  6. The horns and wireing are quite suseptical to water damage where it is. The wire is only thin and goes brittle too. The stock horns are terrible though. You can run new wires from the fusebox as Groover menioned, to a set of aftermarket horns instead. There is a fusebox wiring diagram somewhere on here. yeh, its the large one on passenger side.
  7. ask them who they will accept ?
  8. I dont think yewcheck owns a Z anymore ? or at least not a Z32 ? Either way, a Known specialist would be the right people to speak to. Somebody like Zedworld if its a Z32 , MJP if its an old Z...... or similar for other Marque.
  9. I dont really go along with classifications for cars, but I guess I'd agree with what you have said. A Sports car is a dedicted built 2 seater (or 2+2) performance car. Although I'd probably still refer to the M3 as a Sports car, even if its not by pure definition.
  10. Whats differnet between a GTR and a M3 that makes the GTR a Sports car and the M3 not ? EDIT : nevermind, just realised you meant the new GT-R, not the skyline GTR's
  11. Still missing one of the most important factors - How good it is to drive.
  12. laugh at me,....but at least get it right :p I dont believe in the term "supercar".
  13. why? its the complete opposite to what I said in the other thread about supercars.
  14. I feel it should be a combination of all things - with how they drive being the most important - and as stylish and exciting to look at that many Italian cars can be - the majority are known to drive like utter pigs - on top of feeling cheap and falling apart.
  15. Thats the OEM brown, called Pearl Bronze and only available for a few select years on the Convertible models.
  16. 0 oz. They are the same (presuming were talking fuel filler door)
  17. Nice one, looks like a fair amount of work, well deserved :D
  18. lol Its all dependent on finances :( Giving up work and going back into fulltime education may be the right choice for my future (hopefully), but its severly gimped the Z's progress. It drives, i could go and get it Mot'd but it needs to go the bodyshop before I'll really drive it.
  19. fair point. i could trailer it to a track of your choice....... .......wait...you have a SWB.....us shorties are supposed to be sticking together and ganging up on the estate owners:devil:
  20. want me to keep it in reverse ? :tt2:
  21. While there are staightline differences in theory, the cornering differences are whats more noticable.
  22. Everyone has summed it up well. In theory yes, but condition and driver would/could make more of a difference. A little bit of Maths will tell you that comparing with a 100kg difference (LWB vs Slicktop) there is a potential 0.3 difference in 0-60 times, and 0.5 secs in 0-100 times. It would be impossible to prove this, with no 2 cars in the same condition. The only other bit of info out there is that Car & driver Magazine recorded a 0-60 on 5.0 seconds on a stock 300zx SWB TT Manual, whereas most magazine tests of the LWB TT were 5.6/5.7 secs. Now If you were to take my lightened slicktop, against a typical lard arse wobbly lwb.....well thats another story
