  1. Traction control is a handling aid. It will stop you being too heavy footed in bends , roundabouts ..etc You could literally floor it around a roundabout and it will only allow the slip you have set it to. However it cant overcome the laws of physics and if you enter a corner far to fast then your on your own. It essentially provides you with the maximum level of grip your car and tyres can provide whenever your on the throttle.
  2. Have you checked for leaks. UK car has seperate Diff oil cooler and the joins in pipework can leak..leading to low diff fliud...and subsequently noise.
  3. It uses an electric actuator on top of the shocks to switch between firm and soft damping. UK models also have this feature but on the rear shocks only and they dont have the switch. Most people replace them with Aftermarket shocks that does away with the adjustable damping anyway.
  4. I've always liked the Equip, XD9 and Meister S1  Considering the XD9's for mine
  5. Anything from 300-380 hp at the flywheel depending on boost. You dont mention a chipped ECU, so that will limit the boost you can run (to about 12psi max) .....so you would be in the lower to mid area of that figure .
  6. Nice one si  although should'nt a 700hp Z32 feel a hell of a lot faster than a heavy 480hp GTR (excluding traction issues) ?
  7. Congrats Steve
  8. Ztech - in Wiltshire
  9. You might as well just fit the one from your UK car. You lose the folding mirror function, but thats not important anyway. The U.S ones have completely differnet layout, as they have the adjustable sports suspension button instead, and dont have the folding mirrors button.
  10. Autogylm stuff is pretty good. I used it for years before I discovered Meguiers and would happily use it again.
  11. Yep thats been repaired. As said, its a common place for corrosion to occur. Its an Import which must have been in the country for a long time. Be sure to check the rest of the vehicle carefully for rott, particularly around the sills in front of the rear wheels and in the panels behind the rear wheels under the back bumper.
  12. The 245/35/18 retains the closest to stock circumference. You may have rubbing problems with the 40 profile. I had 245/35/19's which gives similar overall circumference as 245/40/18 had some rubbing issues over bumps, I was lowered too.
  13. Looks great !! Cant wait to get mine fitted and sprayed up.
  14. you can design you own levels :)
  15. Paul has been on holiday since last friday. Back sometime this weekend. That would of been me on his PC
  16. No quick way, not without measuring bell housing thickness...and then comparing with another. If it was an NA box without the starter spaced out then it would'nt disgengage the starter motor after starting the car. Would probbaly sound pretty nasty too when starting and running with the starter constantly fighting with the ring gear. I forgot to mention...the flywheel will also rub on the bellhousing - unless you file down part of the bellhousing...or you let the flywheel do that for you which would'nt take long.
  17. Im stuck on "Four Balls" now
  18. The difference is in the bellhousing thickness. Fitment is the same. You can still use a TT clutch and flywheel, but you have to space the starter with some thick washers.
  19.:rofl::rofl::nono: I wont be there to clean up the mess this year
  20. Now its after You ! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=114107 and http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=115975
  21. I used to do a lot of flying for work, and would pack the night before, but I would usually be getting up at 4am to catch a 6am flight and I can barely dress myself that early in the morning let along pack.
  22. UK market was only available as 2+2(LWB) Twin Turbo Targa Import market had available : 2+2(LWB), 2+0(SWB) Twin Turbo, Non Turbo Targa, Slicktop(SWB only) and Convertible(NA only) Imports rust just as easily as UK cars, bodys are the same. - But where a UK car has been subjected to 15 yrs of Salty winter roads most are getting pretty rotten (unless already repaired or had dry-weather use only and a garage most their life). Imports come over looking like new underneath with not so much as even a hint of surface rust ! They do start rusting like Uk cars after being here for several years though, got to keep an eye on them. UK and Import are essentially the same cars (dependent on trim/version differences ofcourse) but they differ in regional specification. As mentioned UK cars have bigger oil coolers and other minor changes....Imports usually benefit form Lower mileage, Better underbody condition and more choices in which version you want. If its a 2+2 Twin turbo your after then no reason to deliberatly look for one over the other (although young drivers can find UK's cheaper to insure). If your after any other version then its Import only.
  23. Rubber is attached to door.
  24. All of the battery catalogues are incorrect from what I've seen, not just halfords. They have the z31 fitment listed for z32.
