  1. as above, one in sainsburys just outside of guildford.. then saw another traveling down a31 towards alton.
  2. .. really you have actually got to be shitting me..
  3. thanks.. found it.. my car is dead as a dodo anyways n wont fire.. but thought i would address this problem.. having looked at it .. it appears the plug is stuck on and one of the wires is well.. not even connected.. hmmm.. looks ****ed to me!
  4. hey have searched but to no avail. im getting code 13 ( temp sensor) when i check ecu now.. any help as to where i would locate this? thanks
  5. many of you guys may or may not remember me.. my z suffered epic head gasket failure last year and since then i just havent had the heart to get rid of her.. well although at the moment i cannot afford to put her back on the road.. as a replacement engine is just a no go at the moment finance wise! however would just let ya all know i have started work on the bodywork over the past 2 weeks! .. serious amount of elbow greese involved in sanding her down! .. want to get everything spot on then resprayed.. and then hopefully by this time next year should have afforded (recession dependant) an engine transplant/rebuild.. although still considering dropping the engine out and trying myself to do the head.. hmmm but yeah if anyone has any suggestions as to the best way to prep the bodywork then go ahead.. have never preped a full car before! also still keeping an eye out for a r34 GTT rear spoiler if anyone has one lying around! and will be getting parts of my engine bay chromed everntually (dependent on if i replace it) as my brother works as a metal plater.. so when this is done if anyone likes what they see im fairly sure i could wangle some sort of group buy! cheers for reading guys!
  6. i wouldnt sell it.. mines been sat in my garage with a blown headgasket for .. hmm 4 months now.. i got bout 2k saved.. but am undecided as to get my car looked at or get a new car and deal with the zed when economy is a bit better.. either way.. mines sitting in my garage ;) so tuck yours up for a while!
  7. thanks for all the responses guys, as i said he is a genuine bloke.. he is going to take a look at it for free and just sort of sus out what the best thing to do would be. which is nice.. someone told me i should at least try sticking in some head gasket seal stuff.. and at only £30 for the bottle i think i might however i have very low expectations and cant REALLY imagine it will work.. but if it does at least it means i will have a car for the moment until i can find a half decent car (thinking pulsar gtir) .. then the zed can get tucked up and i will slowly strip it down.. thinking of replacing engine and using it as a track toy ;)
  8. problem is .. my mechanic isnt and idiot and he is also a nice bloke who i truely belive did his best.. but if he, and he did, believed he fixed everything that was wrong with it .. what chance do i have of finding the problem.. not only that but the car wont start now so i cant even get the water flowing :-(
  9. hey, some of you will remember me posting up a while ago with coolant problems.. well got my car back from mechanic this week (thanks to all who advised him and myself) drove car home 4 miles wonderfull not a single problem.. tho wouldnt have got up to temp i know i know.. anyways take the car out next day to wash and clean etc.. got 15 miles.. temp rocketed up to way over the top of gauge.. and lost all power and a god awfull ticking sound started.. coast to a stop.. car had overheated cronichally.. umm so yeah aa come out and tow trailor me back home.. head gasket has gone.. now i am under the belief that because my car went in to have the cooling problems fixed .. and they clearly where not that i am entitled to pay nothing for the repairs.. my mechanic however will not take liability for it.. but will fix the head or replace engine.. at my cost.. haha.. no. i have squat all money left as i spanked £700 getting it "fixed" already.. only to have 15 miles of motoring.. this is what he did. "found water pump leaking, remove timing belt covers and auxillary drive belts etc. remove old water pump and thermostat. fit new water pump and thermostat and replace 2 x 38mm water hoses. bleed cooling system, found more water leeks under inlet manifol. remove coils, hoses, fuel rails + inlet manifold. fit new hoses, refit manifold and auxillary belts etc. replace leaking fuel pressure reg, bleed cooling system and check. replace worn alternator belt. repair broken wires on det sensor." parts. alternator belt water pump fuel pressure reg 8mm heater hose manifold gasket 2x heat hoses 4 x link hoses 6 x hose clips anti freeze 38mm water hose all this cost £713.98 .. so what do i do? im really stuck here guys .. the car is worth squat with a blown head and i just dont have any money to pay out.. do i strip it? do i keep it and take it apart n fix myself over the next few months.. what would any of you guys do? cheers
  10. ok spoke to mechanic, one thing he asked is if the turbo's are ceramic or not? and if they can be bypassed.. as in will it do any damage? also anyone know who best to speak to about getting the gasket for the inlet manifold? ta
  11. ahh i see sounds promising as my bill is already topping the far side of £600 lol... so what does need replacing if the bypass is done?
  12. a plenum bypass? whats that.. surely you dont really want to be bypassing anything to do with cooling on a v6 with twin tubs?
  13. yeah to be honest i dont really know what he was talkin bout when he told me on the phone .. so when i have been down there i will have more info to start asking about lol! but he said he was surprised the car evan ran.. considering someone has clearly mistreated the car previously :(
  14. update on this .. my mechanic has had my car for over 2 weeks now.. initially thought it was just the water pump had gone but on closer inspection.. ALOT of pipes are totally perished.. has now taken the inlet manifold off to find alot of small water pipes that all need replacing as water is pissing out everywhere!.. are these easy to come by? im going down there this afternoon to have a look and see exactly what he means but he has been quoted 4th dec delivery for the parts from japan... i xant wait that long :| i want my car back :'(
  15. was he inbred? its over my head how anyone can think that looks good!
