Mike Feeney has pattern parts for a fraction of the Nissan OEM price, not sure if he is available yet though. These will not affect oil pressure - if they do then I have to have a serious think about how engines are designed !!
  2. Yeah, I couldn't suss out superscript for the "2", didn't think about the "^".
  3. Dog, it's from Latin, Canus or something like that. The house next door to mine is called Canem House. My neighbour was fairly amused when I told him what it appeared to mean. Don't think he was going to tell his wife and daughters though .... :D
  4. Actually, I think it's orange.
  5. Yes, sorry about that, but see the first thread in this section for an explanation.
  6. That's an awful lot of Tupperware for a small car !

Could it be one of the PCVs ? If the spring is weakened and it's not gummed up with oil, then they can rattle.
  8. Red shift is something to do with items moving further away from you, eg expanding universe or red Zed's disappearing in the rear view mirror etc
  9. So Einstein tells us that the speed of light is constant (E=MC2). Which is all very well in theory, but that is in a vacuum and reality the speed of light actually varies according to the density of the medium through which it's travelling. So that includes air, water, glass, diamond etc. Now the visible light spectrum is red through to violet with red being the lower frequency and blue being the higher. This means that the slower end of the frequency range will be affected more by the denser medium. Therefore, if a red and a violet car are racing and appear to arrive at the finishing point at EXACTLY the same time, then in fact the red car has arrived there fractionally before the violet one because it took longer for the image to reach the eye. White cars - dunno how this affects them. As white reflects all colours then they must arrive at different times, be surprised if they don't fall apart with the strain ! ;) However, as they reflect all colours and absorb less then they could end up having less mass ... Silver cars - well sliver is just dirty white - see above Black cars - technically black isn't a colour, I give up. Presume it absorbs more light photons and consequently has more mass than the others - QED, must be slower ! So, in summary, assuming all things being equal and all cars go the same speed then the violet (well lets say blue, violet is just too gay for a proper car), will appear to arrive first or be faster, according to our normal methods of timing, eg photo-finish etc. The red will appear to be the slowest. End of ! :D
  10. Yes, it would. This is also made worse by the cold.
  11. 'Fraid so, please see this thread :- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=103559
  12. Of course, re-sub fee only required.
  13. Ideally, you want to measure the current, not the voltage, that way it will be far more obvious when you identify the culprit.
  14. Doesn't look like it fits right to me. I have seen better versions.
  15. I used to run my old Xantia on about 30% veg and it was fine. Engine was definitely quieter and smoother, but power dropped off a little a consumption dropped a bit the more veg you use. Reckon it dropped from about 44 - 41 mpg. My 330d specifically states in the manual that it is not to be run on any biofuel, so I haven't experimented with that (yet!). Anyway, here is the list of places the V Power diesel is available.
  16. Nice car to drive, got a good 'feel' to it. Buy it, try it and sell it if you don't like it.
  17. Hire skip, empty garage. Job done. Aside from that, make sure you have the correct grade of oil and you have anti-freeze in the water. I'm presuming you're still using it regularly ? If not, then don't start it just for the hell of it - does more harm than good.
  18. Problem (for me) is that a blade shaves too close, the hairs retract under the skin which feels very smooth, but they become in-grown and then I have lots of lumps, the razor hacks the top off and I'm a mess ... So, electric with slimy stuff is the way.
  19. Correction, it wasn't Z1, it was MWS who have now closed, but the vids are here :- http://www.zfilms.org/Stories/AVArchive/index.html
  20. There is a video on the Z1 Motorsport site showing it being done from underneath. In fact, it's a vid of a NA-Turbo conversion.
  21. This was on QI the other night, well some of them were anyway.
  22. Me too - still get a rash though .... :(
  23. That may be true for Merc's but my research has indicated it's not for BMWs. Unfortunately.
