  1. You're really limited in what colour filter you can put over the glass, unless you are going to replace the red plastic cover.
  2. Well, I'd say polish the underneath of the plenum, leave the top a matt rough cast finish and get some cool air moving under the bonnet.
  3. Years ago snooker used to completely fascinate me, almost hypnotic. But now that it's on the telly for hours and hours at a time I can't be bothered to watch it at all.
  4. This is quite a complicated question in this instance, so here are some things to think about :- Black surfaces absorb heat better than shiny, reflective ones Radiation (dissipation) of heat is affected less by colour than absorbtion is, although it is still a contributing factor Any 'coating' will insulate the item and affect cooling Chrome counts as a coating, as does paint etc Anodising is more a dye than a coating so less insulating effect Nissan (and others) used to paint radiators black, it turns out the coating was thick enough to have a marginal effect on efficiency The plenum is more or less analogous to an intercooler, except that it is also heated by conduction from attachment to the engine and is in a very hot place rather than out in the fresh air - this really can't be very efficient The underside of a black plenum would absorb radiated heat from the cylinder heads of the engine The plenum is probably cooled by the air coming into it ! If the plenum was intended to dissipate heat it would probably have some fins on it Polishing the plenum will actually reduce the surface area, therefore reducing the ability to dissipate heat There are probably lots more that I can't think about right now ...
  5. I'm sure people don't need their cards/packs for the insurance company. The membership numbers are published in the Private Forum, which should be sufficient to satisfy their request.
  6. I cut mine off when I installed my 350Z brakes.
  7. Paul, I checked our records and fixed it for you.
  8. Can't be done, it's a blue/green gas discharge display.
  9. Which model is it ?
  10. So it does, I remember now.
  11. They may pay more to be a trader, have answered a few questions from them yesterday, so maybe they will do more.
  12. No, Consult won't tell you that, at least not directly. You could dissemble the map, but that takes some tools and knowledge. Do you know what map it has at the moment ?
  13. I think you should drop the Doolz and stick with a single intake - much less hassle.
  14. I think I have a spare DoolZ chip. What size injectors do you have ?
  15. The problem is never the resistor, in my experience. I have posted a couple of times what you need to do, if you're a soldering whizz - try a search. If I fix it it's guaranteed to work forever (well at least as long as the car lives ;) ). Isn't that what they call a lifetime guarantee ? Cost £10 including return postage etc.
  16. Fuel does deteriorate, but certainly not much over 2 weeks. It has been said that Optimax looses about 2 RON over a month. Obviously in a sealed tank there will be very little change.
  17. If you are going to run it every week, make sure it gets up to full temperature, if not you're better off leaving it.
  18. I'd start looking for loose connections down close to/behind the driver side footwell fuse box. There are a bunch of multi-connectors down there, when one gets loose you get all sorts of strange stuff happen.
  19. Send them a photo of the now fixed pothole - it's evidence that they considered it severe enough to fix it.
  20. Alloy wheel cleaner, eg Wonder Wheels, is excellent for cleaning the green gunge of the electrical connections. I get a little pot of it and dip the connector in for a few minutes, then rinse it off.
  21. It's about where it's shipped from not where it's made. There is bound to be a government web site which tells you what it is, but it certainly won't be much.
  22. I repaired mine with the sliver conductive paint years ago and it worked fine. Two of the tracks had scratches. You'd get a better finish by masking the straight lines with some tape, I didn't, but it's still barely noticable.
  23. Jonce, Please see the top sticky in this forum :- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=103559 Should all be explained there.
