Well after installing the Doolz, my car hasn't taken a liking to it at all?? Despite having the SAFC controller and running it rich it doesn't seem to run at all well and struggles to rev up?

Have others had the same problems and what needs to done to get it right?

Have you set the AFC to double the AFM voltage?

Have you set the AFC to double the AFM voltage?
No, how do I do that?

Erm, I'll try and find out for you :) Which AFC is it?

Cheers,

Andy

Hi Andy, it's one of the earliy versions, with the manual dials, black casing? sound familiar?

Must be SAFC Mk 1 then I guess, will have a search, not sure if that one can double/halve the AFM voltage but will find out for sure :)

Think this is the manual for it:

http://www.alltrac.net/manuals/SAFC.htm

Will have to do some more researching to see if that version can actually double the AFM value

Cheers,

Andy

You're quick!!, been on the net myself searching for the manual but only found the later blue type SAFC!!

LOL :D Found that site a LONG LONG time ago - very usefull for some of the older manuals. For anyone else searching for old install/operation manuals:

http://www.alltrac.net - go to documentation

Hope we have some good news on the AFM voltage issue:)

Looking at the manual then no unfortunately :( Probably best just chipping the ECU

Andy

I think I have a spare DoolZ chip. What size injectors do you have ?

Damn, shame about that, I think I have 2 options... 1) leave the state of tune of the car as is which is already 500BHP ATF/ 44OBHP ATW or 2) get the ECU chipped... I am not sure on the injector size, will take one out to confirm...

AFAIK the shared plenum design of the Doolz means you just double the k value but not 100% sure on that one....

No need to take it out - what colour is it?

Andy

Ok will check on the colour tomorrow.. Thx Lee:)

Brown=stock, blue/purple=555s as long as its pre '94 :)

Cheers,

Andy

Car is a late 93/L model, what's the colour scheme for say 720cc's?

Only up to 555s on pre '94 fuel rails ;)

That's a good thing to know!!, unless of course someone changed the fuel at some point...

Yep bigger than 555s and you'll need new fuel rails and machined lower intake....

Now this is a propper thread.

Gy in trouble.

MAtes to the rescue

I think you should drop the Doolz and stick with a single intake - much less hassle.
