What did you do to your zed today?
- Young 300ZX owner from Switzerland
Welcome to the Club Kevin and thank you for your support! I've always wanted to do a "Grand Tour" in the 300ZX in Switzerland - it is such a beautiful country. Look forward to seeing pictures of your car.- A great way to spend a Sunday morning.....
All Z32's were produced in Japan at the Nissan Shatai factory. The exact numbers produced is unclear as their are discrepancies in Nissan's FAST parts database which should hold the details of every Z32 made. For example, I have come across incomplete FAST records (VIN allocated and date built but no other spec details) and Z32s with a complete VIN plate on the car but the corresponding record in the FAST database incomplete. However, these discrepancies seem to be few and far between (as might be expected from Japanese fastidiousness). When the full FAST Z32 database records are extracted for the Japanese domestic market (work in progress by Mark at the GTR-Registry.com) we will probably have the best picture of the numbers of cars produced for sale across all the markets Z32s was sold into. http://gtr-registry.com/en-nissan-300zx-z32.php- Modern Classics this month - March edition
From your experience Seb, how much higher?- Repairing the OSF sill and floor!
Looking good Russ! At least you still have the centre cap that was removed from the wheel.- A great way to spend a Sunday morning.....
Excellent! Looking forward to the pictures Mark.- My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
Very Army! I see that BDE are comming out with their own crank trigger setup: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2632565/VG-Crank-Trigger---coming-soon-from-BDE.html Will be interesting to see how it compares with the Ross setup you have.- Brake Problem
Take a look at the brake master cylinder - cars without ABS have three hydraulic lines and ABS cars have two hydraulic hardlines connected to it. You can also check by looking behind the body trim behind drivers side seat - there will be an ABS actuator if the car has ABS. There will be an "Anti-Lock" light on the dash (which comes on briefly when the car is started) and normally an ABS sticker on the brake booster for cars with fitted with ABS. Post a picture of the pipe.- Brake Problem
If your car is an NA and not fitted with ABS then you won't have that block as it is part of the ABS pipework. For a car without ABS you will only have one pipe coming through to the wing from the master cylinder. The diagram below shows the lines and blocks: http://nissan4u.com/parts/300zx/er_z32/1993_3/type_1/brake/brake_piping_and_control/illustration_1/ (parts diagram for TT with ABS item 22) Have you fully bleed the brakes to remove any air in the system?- Project UK rewind
Absolutely Chris - it will be a pleasure!- Project UK rewind
Much better! How's the rear spoiler paint match?- Modern Classics this month - March edition
Well done Simon! I'll buy a copy for the collection tomorrrow.- Project UK rewind
I think what you think.- Happy Birthday RichardS
- Air bag light
I only have this picture (in Japanese). Is this the type you have? The air bag light is in the middle of speedo and tach gauges (shown as SRS).- My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
True, but your with your original plan you would still be buying most of that stuff anyway using the stock tree?- My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
How about using an oil filter with a built in bypass/relief valve? You could then get ride of the oil tree and existing lines and use a remote take off fixed directly to the block (you would need to plumb in the pressure sensor in a new location). Plumbing would then go: Remote take-off outlet to oil filter inlet->oil filter outlet to 'H' oil thermostat->oil cooler inlet->oil cooler->'H' oil thermostat->remote take-off inlet.- My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
Fair enough. There is also a space opposite the A/C dryer which I used for the relocated CC which could accomodate the remote oil filter. The oil feed and return lines would have to be routed past the radiator. What does EPR have to say on the matter as it's their sump design making this issue?- My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z

Well done Howard - one down one to go!- clutch master cylinder
Great to see that you are now sorted and that Luke was able to get the OEM part to you in good time.- A great way to spend a Sunday morning.....
Launch date was indeed February '89 in the US. However cars were being manufactured before that date.- What did you do to your zed today?
This is a handy guide Richard. Although for the rear hubs, the principle described will be the same for removing and replacing the front studs: http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_images/How%20I%20Changed%20Rear%20Wheel%20Studs.pdf Superforma made the 40mm spare wheel spacers for me and did a very good job.- Short Winter Break.
Have a great time Peter and enjoy your R&R!- A great way to spend a Sunday morning.....
Here is some ammo for you: To support the launch of the Z32 in the US at the Chicago Autoshow (February 11th-19th 1989). The Nissan Shatai factory in Japan started producing the new Z32 300ZX cars in late 1988 alongside the run out Z31 model with production switching over completely to the Z32s during 1989. From “Nissan 300ZX 350Z. The Z-Car Story" by Brian Long. This is a photo showing Z31's and Z32's on the production line together. - Young 300ZX owner from Switzerland
