  1. What an Aladdin's cave of automotive loveliness!
  2. Yes it could if air got into the system - which is very likely as your reservoir was empty. Any air in the clutch lines will expand greatly compared to the hydraulic fluid. As the air heats up, the clutch engagement point can move closer to the start point of pedal travel. Even with your foot off the pedal the expanded air keeps constant pressure on the clutch slave cylinder, resulting in slippage.
  3. This should help you. The first link is in Japanese, the second is the Google translated version. The JDM folding mirror wiring diagram and mirror switch pinouts are shown (scroll down). http://www.zcar-owners.net/cgi-bin/diy_bbs/cbbs.cgi?mode=al2&namber=11&rev=&no=0 https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.zcar-owners.net%2Fcgi-bin%2Fdiy_bbs%2Fcbbs.cgi%3Fmode%3Dal2%26namber%3D11%26rev%3D%26no%3D0 BTW, what did you install as a replacement for the stock radio? Most aftermarket headunits have a remote antenna signal to power the antenna up and down.
  4. Have you got the ConZult user manual? See page 39 for O2 sensors. ConZult user manual.pdf I've found that O2 sensor readings can stick (not fluctuate), so it is worth running the engine for a while (~2k revs) to see if it will behave normally before deciding the sensor is faulty.
  5. What's the level on the clutch master cylinder reservoir? The clear fluid is probably hydraulic clutch fluid. The clutch master cylinder is directly above the o/s exhaust elbow. See if there is evidence of fluid leaking from it or the pipework/union.
  6. The Selin is a supprisingly effective modification. What make are the BOVs?
  7. You need the car's registration to get that report though? A '98 engine would be JDM. Was it bought "engine only"?
  8. Two MAFs can be used with a Selin translator. Is that what you are using? https://www.specialtyz.com/selin-design-maf-translator-elbow-kit.html.html Using BOV's with MAFs is not a good idea. This link explains why: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2421113/I-do-not-recommend-blow-off-valves-on-the-Z.html
  9. Nice job. I see you have BOV's fitted, are you using MAF or MAP for air measurement?
  10. Not that I'm aware. The Nissan FAST parts database only records the VIN for each car's record which includes the date of manufacture.
  11. What a pity that tool you made up didn't work. Well done on missing the oil pump casing. Have you got a replacement sprocket?
  12. This home made tool did the trick. Sorry, I don't have the link but you can see how it worked.
  13. Sure? Take a look at these photos. Yours is the top one (from your Aus forum). The plaque is poorly fixed. The box hangers are different and the tips are not the same as they go into the box. For that kind of money I would want to be sure the system is genuine.
  14. It was the rather clumsy welds on the plaques that made me wonder.
  15. This retro enough for you? https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/used-cars/icon-buyer-mercedes-benz-e-class-w124-estate-is-my-personal-icon-car-june-2016/
  16. A rare and expensive bird! Must say tempting though: https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/b365840567?lang=en&rc=yaucc Actually, looking at the pictures of yours on the Aus forum I'm not sure that this is the real deal?
  17. Very professional looking job there. Car looks fantastic - well done! BTW what exhaust system do you have?
  18. So long as the key is kept in the "ON" position after cranking the engine (with the ConZult still connected) the ECU will still be powered up and keep the fuel pump off. The ECU will reset (and control the fuel pump normally on the next start) when the key is removed and power is cut to the ECU.
  19. Same function, kills the power to the pump. Engine dies of fuel starvation. Crank the engine over to make sure there is no residual fuel under pressure. Then leave ignition off (take the key out if you want). Do the filter change catching any fuel dribbling out of the broken joints. You can leave the fuse in situ.
  20. I'm after the targa handle plastic trim surround for the RH driver's side in mint condition.
  21. Best wishes on your Birthday Lee!
