  1. Your viscous coupling cooling fan should run as soon as the engine starts. When cool it is free wheeling slightly and locks up when hot. Belt squeel on start up is nearly always the auxilary belt driving the alternator and water pump. When you first start the car the alternator has to work hard to restore the battery charge and the belt can slip with the load. Newly replaced belts can stretch a bit as they settle in. This is the FSM page for adjusting the belts: MA-9.pdf
  2. Sorry chaps I'm going to have to pass on this. I caught covid last week and today's test is still positive. Feeling completely washed out. Hope you have a great show and take lots of pics!
  3. Lovely, lovely lovely!
  4. Yes! That caught me out when trying to work out why another RLTC install didn't work. My curiosity was piqued because you had used 4 core red from the ABS sensor wires to your filter box. That got me thinking... Anyway, there are 2 variants of Racelogic Traction Control - The ABS version and the self installed sensor version. "The ABS system is looking for a sine wave from the vehicle's OEM ABS sensors. The ABS loom has 4 wires which have to be 'spliced' in to the corresponding ABS sensor signal wires. The wheel speed system is looking for square wave from self installed wheel speed sensors. The wheel speed loom has 2 wires for each wheel speed sensor, and are clearly labelled FR, FL, RR, RL." https://fdoc.co.uk/forum/threads/racelogic-traction-control-wiring-issues.4896/#post-48039 And the thread/post where I first came across the difference. https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/topic/155852-installing-race-logic-traction-control/?do=findComment&comment=1699770
  5. Out of curiosity the 4 ABS signal wires into the TC ECU are what colour at the plug? In the picture below they are all red (circled). They could also be a group of red, blue, yellow and green. With all the work you have done so far you probably know where I am going with this.
  6. I will be attending along with Gary (GSC). So that's two more.
  7. It helps to get the part#'s of the things you are after. This is a good resource for your JDM: https://nissan.epc-data.com/fairlady_z/ If you get lost in that parts database, just post what you are after and we can identify the Nissan Part#. You can source new parts from the States, Japan and the UK if they are still available from Nissan (not NLA): Examples which members have used many times include: https://conceptzperformance.com/ https://www.z1motorsports.com/ http://jp-carparts.com/ https://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/
  8. Why not just post them up for all to see?
  9. Best wishes on your Birthday Aff!
  10. I bought the accent strip from this supplier in the States as I couldn't find a supplier here with a good match to OEM: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300ZX-TURBO-NISSAN-LOWER-STRIPES-1990-1997-300-ZX-2-2/152023851841 The review that helped me decide: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/1992598/Nissan-vs-eBay-pinstripe-ltunbelievably-long-lolamgt.html This is a left over piece from the job. If you do go for that supplier make sure that he knows it is for 2+2. The picture above was what was left over with very minimal wastage!
  11. And yet... Anyway, welcome to the Club James and thank you for your support! If you put your VIN into here you can get the build date and original factory spec for your car: https://gtr-registry.com/en-fairlady-z-z32-japan.php
  12. Nice collection of cars there.
  13. Much better! Looking forward to seeing the car in the metal.
  14. Interesting part 49790-30P01. Shows up as a set of parts with a separate (screw clamped hose) here: https://jp-carparts.com/nissan/partlist.php?maker=nissan&type=132&fig=497A&part=4979030P01&page=1 but appears here with a crimped shell coupling (arrowed). As this a low pressure part of the system I can't see why a suitable length of hydraulic hose and clamp can't be substituted with screw clamp. You would need to cut off the old crimped shell connection. 中古】新品未使用 Z32用 パワステホース3本 49790-30P01 49720-31P03 49720-31P04 の落札情報詳細| ヤフオク落札価格情報 オークフリー・スマートフォン版 Just an FYI - the diagram above (nissan4u) is for the UK/Euro PS system with cooler (item 32) which was not fitted on JDMs. AFAIK that part of the PS system (reservoir tank connections) is the same for RHD and LHD cars.
  15. That will be Part# 16635-10V10. https://nissan.epc-data.com/fairlady_z/gz32/6029-vg30d/engine/164/16603F/ For reference: https://conceptzperformance.com/search.php?search=16635-10V10&filter=1 https://www.z1motorsports.com/fuel-rail-and-injectors/nissan/oem-300zx-z32-fuel-rail-plenum-seal-early-style-p-615.html They are available in the UK (but are expensive): https://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/nissan/nissan-1663510v10-insulator-injec/
  16. By the FSM: re ATF vs PS fluid: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/main/view/1109051/Power-steering-problems-and-solutions.html
  17. AFAIK the main differences are the placement of the bushes in the arms. There is a small 1mm gap (arrowed) between the bush and the arm. There is also an offset in the arm to the tube. Side by side you can see this at the top of the picture. This is also shown in the in the leaflet that comes with the Nismo replacement bushes.
  18. For my HKS EVC4 install the setup. BC Solenoid mounted so roughly equal distance for hose runs between both wastegate actuators and between TB intake takeoffs (small blue hoses T'd off from soleniod running to both wastegate actuators and both intake takeoffs). This setup has been in service for over 15 years without any issues. This is for RH TB takeoff using existing nipple in intake pipe. Large diameter blue hose runs up to TB. LH side is the same setup. Single takeoff from balance bar for boost pressure signal to BC Soleniod.
  19. Well done Stephen - best wishes for your new venture.
  20. Just to clarify, what year is your car? Which part are you referring to - 16603FA in diagram below?
  21. Welcome to the Club Charles and the start of your Z32 adventure! If you put your VIN into the search field you can find out the factory build date and spec: https://gtr-registry.com/en-300zx-z32-uk-europe.php This stuff will help you start with diagnosing problems on your car. http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1105629/The-Ultimate-Guide-to-ECU-Diagnostics.html http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/main/view/922678/The-6-Ps-Proper-Preparation-Prevents-Piss-Poor-Performancegt.html You can also use the Conzult diagnostic software running on a windows PC to display the ECU fault codes and real time sensors and signals: https://conzult.com/products.htm A free Windows version is available to get started and covers most of the stuff needed (engine related)
  22. Don't do it Tom - I always had you down as this sort of guy!
  23. Best wishes on your Birthday!
  24. More than I did - it does makes one ponder when the oil coming out looks pretty much the same as it did going in when doing the annual service!
  25. Well done chaps on completing your grand tour of the UK! It has been great following your diary.
