I would be surprised if they have all failed at the same time. I would in the first instance check the electrics - fuses, switches, connectors and wiring. To save you time here are the pages from the '94 and '96 US spec (LHD) FSMs which cover the convertible roof and lid. For reference - you can achieve very respectable results with this product: https://www.frost.co.uk/frost-ali-clean-alloy-aluminium-castings-cleaner/ The product is great at cleaning aluminium castings such as plenums and I've used it on a number of occasions with excellent results. Very little effort is required, just spray on and work in with a stiff nylon bristled brush and leave for a few minutes then rinse with water. The result above was achieved with three applications.
