  1. Glad to hear your ok. I know how gutted you must feel but remember your alive so you can feel gutted. could have been real nasty Liam. Don't let those ba**ard insurance people screw you over and get a proper payout for your car. Look forward to seeing you next Zed as I'm sure it will be even better than this one.
  2. Just read this Matey. Have you got a water temp sensor yet. I have a couple of good one I'll send you one if you still need it.
  3. Yep but i drive like an animal as anyone who's been on the car with me can vouch. If it isn't skipping round bends in the dry then its because I'm behind something slow and not got past yet. In the wet with the 265 S02's I can progress almost as quickly as in the dry, but maybe its just that Pilots are not as good in the rain and they don't do S02's in 275/35/18's
  4. in actual fact there are 3 tyre width for a wheel width. a 10" wheel will take a 265 275 or 285 and all well within save tolerence. I have 10" rears on mine and have 275's but had to have the rear arches rolled to stop the scrubbing. Used to have 265's with no scrubbing but the wheel arch is proper filled now. 265's are better in the rain though. Hugh tyres give less traction in wet weather
  5. I really don't know. just a quicky question is it the tripronic box or the original 540 sports auto. as I was told the tripronic is good for 300 thou and a much better box. I'm sure it was optional on the pre 95 840's and 50's
  6. Nice on Matey. I used to be very partial to the 850 but my feelings have sort of waned. It looks a lovely example though. Hope she serves you well. What milage has it done? Just be awhere that the auto boxe brain seems to die at about 100K mark and its £1800 for a recon gearbox ECU. only discovered this when my Ex's 540 auto box fubar'd.
  7. When you've installed your new one just half top it up at first. Then with the front end slightly of the floor and engine running, just hold it to full lock one way for about 10 seconds and then the other. Keep doing that and checking the fluid level. After about 10 t0 15 mins top up to proper level and hay oh away you go.
  8. It's a wee bit busy for my tastes. Far too much going on inside and out side.
  9. One of my first Range Rovers was an Ex Police car and to be honest once i got a new roof lining it was sound. Half leather sports seat, 3.9 with a higher ratio box. Had it for 3 years of good service. I liked it So much I was going to buy another but ended up with an ex MOD 4.2 Range Rover in Metalic Burgundy. That Really was the muts.
  10. I've had T5's for years. The are a truley awesome car. Handling is pretty good on the post 2001 cars and its not the horse power that they deliver and boy they do. It's the Torque they punch and would say that 40 to 120 they areas strong if not stronger than the standard Z (RICA tuned T5's will push 500hp anf the full Factory race T5 engine's used to be not far off 700BHP)
  11. Hi Joely I had these on the Zed with Koni Pro sport ajustable dampers and they were brilliant for every day use and faired well on track. A little firmer than the standard Eibach spings I had on before but not uncomfortable. They G C coilovers springs are made by Eibache and I was lead to believe they are progressive but not as much as the standard lowering springs. I have got one car with Teins on and another with Hollins and to be honest I'm thinking of flogging the Teins and going back to Koni Pro Sports and G C. They seem to be the best compromise. The Teins are great on smooth roads, but shity average A and B roads knocks the crap out of you and means you seldom have all 4 wheels on the groung. I do drive like a made b4stard though. Ask madmarco what he thinks of them as he as them also
  12. I have over the years ordered loads of stuff from Z1 and never had anything but good sevice and they will continue to be one of my main parts suppliers. I also use Mitch at AMZ performance who again i can only recomend as providing a good service.

This is why I always end up getting into arguments because I wouldn't have left the garage till I had it in writing or had new tyres. I would have rung the fleet hire place and told them. The Garage don't want to change them because thet are loosing money the more often the tyres are changed Anyway if your on salary its a enforced day off :D

I'd ask them to give it to you in writing that they are legal and therefore will not change and they accept any legal liability if you have an accident or get a fine by VOSA. Then you in the clear. My understanding is that so long as 3/4 of the tread is within the leagal requirements then they are leagal, but that looks more like 50 -60 percent is way beyond.
  15. Thet are the same from catback. Only difference is 2+2 system will not fit a SWB and vice versa
  16. Have a Alunox single exit cat Back system for sale. Cost JD £900. I paid £650 It wasn't polished apart frome the silencer and tail pipe. If you are interested I'll give it a buff up to chrome finish along the full length. So make me an offer.
  17. did it vibrate on tick over?
  18. Think I've found it. Will see tomorrow. Looks like a dogy injector plug. So got to go see the Mrs Z EX to see if set new plugs I bought before the full loom are still in the garage?
  19. SO2's and SO2'a's are still in production and SO2's are Porcher specific so i suppose if TVR have changed from Toyo's to Bridgestone then the 'a's will be for them. They have a slightly different tread pattern though which most likely means a different compound. SO's are the ones to go for and are the same as the Original SO2's the Zed was built on. SO3's are no where near as good in the wet.
  20. It's not a bit like ego masturbation. It is ego masturbation. Having been the front man and one of the song writers for sveral bands I kinda have this need to throttle most lead giutarists that don't stick with the program. Anf most don't which is why most lead guitarists that go solo make widdly diddly albums. A bit like listening to Irish folk music. One or 2 songs (I use the word song at its loosest) is ok but a whole night of the stuff! No wonder they were killing each other.:rofl::rofl:
  21. Happy birthday hun, May there be many many more;)
  22. I know that feeling Chris, exactly, hence my ode to Grass Hopper in my rides. Anyway I thought you were going to go for a Z1 stage 4?
  23. Average imitators of a previous late 70's genre. Good tight bad band but awefull vocal. Joe Satriani IMO was just a bit tedius. Yep he can wibble up and down the fret board as good as most acomplished Jaz guitarist, but all a bit self serving and repetitive. A bit like listening to the Carlos Santana and Ravi Shakti Albums. The fastest fingers in the west.
  24. Just wondered if the above would cause vibration. has made a funny noise from that area and vibration seems to disapear above 2.5 rpm
