Another warranty claim
Well Warranty holdings have once again come up with the goods:) As my Zed was having the two small water hoses replaced, the mechanic noticed a slight leak from the water pump. Since he had the front of the engine apart he decided it better to replace the pump now. I got him to call Warranty holdings, who agreed to pay for the pump and labour costs (they won't cover the hoses though but they only cost £10 so I don't care:D ) They also agreed to replace the oil pressure sender unit, result coz they are £80 + vat from Nissan UK:D :D So they are stumping up £350-ish+vat So far, cost of warranty was £375 fot 15 months, cost of repairs claimed for, over £800 I'm happy with that:dance:

White van man....
Just thought I'd mention a similar thing I witnessed a few years ago. A line of cars (me included) were doing 30-40 ish on a 60mph A road behind a slow car. Everyone was overtaking this car in turn as they got the chance. Two cars in front of me was a Porsche, the driver of which didn't have the nerve to pass the slow car when it was his turn. The transit van behind me got impatient and overtook me and the car in front, pulling in behind the Porsche, who had dropped back leaving a bigger gap from him to the slow car. The Transit driver sees a gap and goes to pass the Porker who the speeds up to close the gap, just as a coach appears from the opposite direction. The Transit driver can't pass the Porsche AND the slow car, nor can he safely brake and pull back in. So to avoid a head on, he swerved into the side of the Porsche. The Porsche driver was a bit pi55ed off and called the Police. He then told the attending officers what a to55er the van driver was, but when the police took statements from me and the driver in front (we both told exactly what happened) the Porsche driver was charged with causing the accident, since he accelerated preventing the van driver from safely completing his perfectly legal manouver. The moral, let the impatient drivers pass, ie rather they were in front of you and out of your way;)

gonna make a CD for the Zed....
Sure does, Stevo.....;) Different music suites different cars IMO, whilst I like soul as well as rock (that's proper soul Marvin Gaye, Luther, Aretha etc not today's 5hite), rock rules:D :D RnB I think is better suited to "rude Mercs" and kitted BMs. A Zed is a proper mans car and as such I would expect to hear satanic lyrics from a hell spawn car!!!! :D Keep on rockin' Richard

New tail lights available
I don't care for the carbon fibre items - too "max power", but the black ones don't look too bad. They also do the crystal indicator/side light lenses for about us$90. Richard

Wheels/offset/sizes for Azevs
Hi rich I think you should be OK, as generally the wheels for Supra, Zed RX7 and GTO are interchangeable. The only difference is the centre hole, if the wheels are drilled for a specific car. Some companies drill a larger hole anyway and fill it with a plastic spacer to reduce the size for different cars. I don't remember which is larger, Zed or Supra. There has been a thread here before (re Big Roy's car, I think) on this one. So the answer is if the Supra has the smallest hole you will have to get it drilled to fit your Z, if the Z version has the smallest hole get spacers from DT motorsport. Richard:)

Wheels/offset/sizes for Azevs
Hi Rich I have Azev A rims, I got them from DT motorsport who are the official importers of Azev into the UK. They order them to be drilled specifically for each car direct from the factory in Germany. Mine are 9.5X17 rear and 8X17 front. I believe they are ET30 offset all round, according to the printed info under the centre cap. If you are in doubt, phone Dave at DT motorsport on 01708 630 528. HTH Richard:)

Woohoo, Zed's back

Classic car show?
Hi john Yup, I did indeed see their stand. They had a stunning Azure Blue 350Z:cool: I first saw one at the Jap Performance show at Hickstead in the summer. It was in a yellowish colour (I think) and I didn't like it. However having seen another in met. blue I really like it. I would definately have one that colour. Especially after reading a road test report comparing it to the Audi TT and Chrysler thingy - it thrashed them:D Shame you couldn't get there this year:( Richard:)

Classic car show?
Anyone been today or going tomorrow? I went today, it was much better than previous couple of years but I always preferred the May show. They have not had both May and November shows for at least 2 years now, for some reason. Good to see the Z-club there, I don't think I've seen them there before. Although I may not have noticed in the past since I've only had my own Zed since June. Only one Z32 on the stand, a white UK spec manual with grey tweedy interior. Well worth the trip to Brum:)

Woohoo, Zed's back
After the water leak issue (turned out to be the little hoses, as everyone in help forum suggested - thanks guys:)) and paint issue (not happy with original work) I've got zed back  I also had the waterpump replaced as it wasn't done with cambelt. The only problem is now with the rear wheel that needs a refurb after blow-out then hitting catseye and denting new Azev rim. I'm finding it hard to stick below 50 with the crappy yellow thing instead of a wheel though..... My garage lent me an SLK230 yesterday to go about my activities (jolly nice of them;) ) but it felt good to get back into a proper manly car this morning. I've never missed a car like I missed the zed when in the garage. Happy, Happy Happy

I hate home fireworks
Fireworks are fun:rofl: I remember when I was about ooooh, 12, me and my mates used to have wars using bangers and mini rockets as weapons:D we even fabricated little hand-held "launchers" for the mini rockets using a piece of pipe sealed at one end with a lighter soldered to it so that the flame went up through a hole to light the rocket. Just like a trigger......... Yes, it may sound irresponsible to some killjoys and crybabies, but no-one ever got hurt because we had "safety rules" ie we all wore leather jackets (fire proof?) and only aimed for the torso;) heh heh

225 or 245?
Actually Nicam, you are probably right...... ........Most wheel/tyre packs with 10 inch rears come with minimum of 265/35/18

b45tard tyre killing debris
I was innocently changing lanes on a dual carriageway this morning at about 80mph when the back wheel caught something in the road and the tyre blew out. b45tard, just fitted new GDS3s all round:mad: Not content with that, but as the wheel with the flat tyre hit the catseye a second later, the bloody thing took a chunk out of the rim. Double b45tard, new Azev wheels only 3 months old:mad:   Now I don't mind spending money on my zed, but not for the same thing twice over:mad:

Water pump?
Hi again Well the front of my zed's engine has been removed to replace, yes you were all right, the two crappy little hoses:) However as the car has done 65000 miles and I didn't have the pump changed with the cambelt I asked the mechanic to replace the waterpump anyway. Sod's law says it will go within a month of replacing the hoses (and coolant for the 2nd time in 6 months;) ) Richard

PIAA "Superwhite H3C bulbs vs 85w H3C
Hi Paul You obviously got lucky with your Halfords bulbs. They change manufacturers according to costs etc, so yours, being Phillips, are among the best available. Halfords often use Bosch or lucas bulbs, which are crap;) Basically anything MADE by phillips or Osram regardless of packaging is going to be good:) Richard

225 or 245?
Hi Simmo I take it your wheels are 18 inches, if so your best bet would be 235/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear. You could also go up to 265/35/18 if your pockets allow, may not be too different in price HTH:) Richard

How Gay Are You???
I'm Only 20% gay - too straight for these modern times:confused: Being anymore than 1% gay is more than enough:rolleyes: I'm not anti-gay or homophobic (one of my mates happens to be a sailor of the cadbury canal, he's a mate for who he is not what he is) but I can't help thinking that acceptance of openly gay behaviour is wrong. I like paulg's comments:D :D Never mind all of you who were more than 40% gay, you could always get a job at the BBC..... .....That's Blair's Bum Chums:D :D

PIAA "Superwhite H3C bulbs vs 85w H3C
Hi Gio I use the PIAA platinum white H3 bulbs (uk car) and they are much better than standard. The only issue IMO is that the blueish coating combined with the opaque beam lense robs some of the light potential. Osram bulbs performed best of all in Auto express tests, but their Silverstar option which won is not yet available in H3. Pity, as they are less than 1/2 price of PIAA jobbies. Still you can get the Osram 30% brighter option in H3 for about £15 for the pair + p&p which are also very good. Don't touch the Halfords own brand eqivalent as they are crap;) Look on Demon Tweeks website, they sell the lot. HTH Richard
