  1. Hi Paul, Heh heh I can well believe that:D I posted a thread thread on the help/advice forum a few weeks ago about a Nissan dealer that only sold Renault parts:rolleyes: Richard;)
  2. Hi John I didn't intend to replace the PIAAs, but I was buying a set of the Osram Silverstar + 50% jobbies for my Corsa (unfortunately they don't make them for the Zed) but as the +30% ones were only £12 with no extra P&P I thought I'd buy a pair. I planned to keep them for spares or to fit in foglights, should I eventually install the Jap/US front light set-up. As I had a spare hour on Sunday I decided to to a comparison with the PIAAs already there. I was inspired by an earlier thread by Gio on the same subject:D Richard:)
  3. Hi john, Drove home tonight in rain and dark....... The Osrams were very good. I don't think they are better than the PIAAs I replaced but they are at least as good. The light is as bright but not as blue/white as PIAAs, so less glare is reflected back at you in drizzle and fog. And at £12 a pair (compared to over £30 for PIAAs) they are better value;) They also gave better reflection from road signs and weren't prone to being "neutralised" by yellow street lights either. All in all a good choice of upgrade:cool: They are called Osram Super + 30%. Demon Tweeks part code BO453S for H3 bulbs. £12.27 + p&p Richard :)
  4. Hi Arthur, I believe they are only supposed to work when the lights are on, hence reason I thought the relay may be dead. I've not looked for the other tank yet, only just read replies....... Richard:)
  5. I'm with John Dixon on this..... .....Goodyear GDS3s all the way. Not as expensive as bridgestones and boy do they grip:D They weren't voted best performance tyre in the world by Evo mag for nothing:dance: Richard;)
  6. The Japanese may build great cars and stereos, but WTF ????
  7. Heh Heh, you never know Stuart:rofl: Bit like the woman asking Halfords for a "seven-ten cap" Richard:dance:
  8. Hi John I've only just fitted them, so I haven't driven in the dark yet. They look brighter and clearer though, I'll let you know tomorrow. I got them from Demon Tweeks, cost £12.27 for the pair. Supposed to give 30% more light. They scored very well in Auto Express tests recently, beating PIAA bulbs which cost over £30 a pair. Richard:)
  9. I wonder if anyone can advise on this. I tried to use the headlamp washers today (Only had the car 6 months and this is the first time i've used them:D ). Obviously I had the headlamps on, but the washer jets did not work and the windscreen wipers came on instead:confused: There was no water being squirted from anywhere??? The wash/wipe system works ok, so why not the headlamp washers. Could it be the relay? Any ideas?? Thanks Richard
  10. I've just swapped to Osram Super bulbs (UK car, so standard H3). Can't believe what a PITA changing the bulbs is. Absolutely no room to move your hands or see what's going on. I was going to remove the main beam bulbs and clean the insides of the lenses but after changing dipped lamps I can't be bothered with the hassle;) Richard:)
  11. Woohoo:D Had the zed serviced on Thursday. Not a major thing, just oil change & level check to keep warranty valid. Went into garage today to pay them, got the invoice and it came to the sum of....... ........nothing:dance: I supplied the oil and tha garage gave me a proper vat bill listing all work done, but said "....no charge - goodwill gesture...." And who said running a Zed was expensive:dance:
  12. Heh heh like it, Jezz
  13. Yup, sure does make you feel proud. The Zed always draws attention, for all the right reasons. The other morning, when it was sunny, I drove to work with the targas off. I was sitting in a line of cars at traffic lights behind a Boxster when a load of school kids (girls too, not that I'm a perv:rofl: ) were crossing the road between the cars. A small group of 6 girls and boys came past me staring at the car, nodding in approval. One boy said, "cool car, mate nicer than the one in front...." Zeds rool:dance:
  14. WooHoooo:D I can make this one:dance: Only 5 mins away from there;) Richard
  15. Hi Siraff The old Supra is still pretty good for the cash. I had one before my zed. Sold it for £3200 (it was A1 condition, though). Anyhoo, earlier rougher ones can be got for under £1000 and they are quick. 232bhp. 0-60 in 6.1 and 0-100 in under 16. Very good midrange, way better than 200sx, 3000gto and still enough to take an rx7. My choice would have to be the old 3000 capri, or maybe 2.8i. Old skool fun car and seriously wayward rear end:dance: How about the mk2 rs2000? Bodie & Doyle eat your hearts out:dance: Richard
  16. It's all gone the same way as the music:cry: Straight down the cr@pper It proves only poofs and 12 year olds buy singles nowadays:dance:
  17. Hi Steve, If you want Goodyears in 19 inch, better take out a mortgage, mate:D They will be worth it, though. Khumos are fairly low budget tyres, so any premium make worth its salt will be a better bet. I have just replaced a rear (Goodyear) after a puncture, cost £120 for a 255/40/zr17 if that helps. Probably cheaper for mail or internet order though. Richard;)
  18. Hi Steve, This will probably start a debate going, but according to Nissan data the UK/European spec car has 280bhp and the Jap/usa spec cars have 300.
  19. Also in Jezza Clarkson's book of his 100 best cars. There the Supra and GTO don't even get a sniff of a mention:dance: Richard:rofl:
  20. I find Courtesy delivery times good..... .....but when they touch down here, those cnuts at Parcel force hang onto the parcel for 6 months then charge a fcuking fortune on top of vat/duty to deliver it in a further three months. Sack the bl00dy lot of Parcel force. Scum:mad: Richard
  21. I've got the goodyears too.... .....dead good, even in the wet. They live up to Evo's claim that they are the best performance tyres ever:) I used to use Michellin Pilot Sport on my Supra and they were good, but the F1s are a different class. Driving home the other night on a flooded dual carriageway I could still accelerate past other cars at high speed and there was no loss of traction. I can also boot it off roundabouts in the wet and the back end stays in line. Richard;)
  22. Are the turbos faster? Oh yes, over a second of the 0-60 time and around 4 seconds of the 0-100 The TT really comes into its own when overtaking though. From 40-100 nothing seems to get near it:dance: Richard
  23. £8169...... But I'd sell my soul for a dougnut:dance:
  24. Phone network polls????? Are we getting short of thread ideas now?:D :D (Still voted, though:dance: )
  25. Falling Down - a great film, one of my all time favourites:dance: Love the bit on the golf course.... "....your pills are in the cart ?......and you're gonna die ?.....in that stupid hat, how does it feel??..." Heh heh My wife gets worried when she sees it, she thinks I could end up like that !! Richard:D
