Legel Eagle Required
If you think the parking fine was unjust and can back up your argument, tell the Bas***ds you intend to challenge it in court. If you demonstrate you have evidence in your favour they will most probably drop the charge. Not sure about the speeding issue though:(

UK zeds - how many r left ?
I'm pleased I found a good, low mileage uk zed with FSH after all the import dogs I saw. Imports were a good thing a couple of years ago, when they were a relatively new idea (ie before the entire motor trade started bringing in the rubbish). I'm not knocking the import thing here, my Supra was imported 5 years ago and was A1 spotless. But now it's big business, all the previously ignored crap is being brought over so every trader can cash in, it would seem. Most (newly) imported zeds I looked at had obviously covered greater distances than the odometer suggested (eg AUTO gear shift worn totally smooth FFS - you don't use it most of the time!!!) and far too many botched body reps and mods. I would only buy an import now if it had been here a few years (ie one of the early - genuinely good ones) particularly if it was from someone on this forum with a keen interest in the car. My appologies to the good, reputable, established importers out there. But I'm sure they know what I mean.......:)

insurance
I get mine from Bell Direct for £485 for a daily user. Thats with mods of Azev alloys and induction kit fitted. I'm 33 with full NBC, car is garaged and has cat 1 security. Oh and they would let my wife drive as well and she's 28. Mine's a UK one though

Front lower ball joint
Its all right!!!!:) Mechanic called three nissan dealers and surprise surprise, he got one delivered......:) .........just not in time to finish job today:mad: Nevermind, I'll get Zed back tomorrow and at least they lent me a car.

Front lower ball joint
My garage is fitting a n/s/f lower ball joint for me, which I bought from Courtesy. However when mechanic removed the original lower arm, the ball joint seat (a small cone shaped bit of metal) was still attached to it. The new one doesn't come with the seat and neither local Nissan dealer (whom I obtained the part no. from) nor Courtesy suggested I would need to order that as well. This seat thingy is stuck to the old joint and mechanic doesn't want to force it in case it breaks. We haven't tried to buy a new one from local Nissan dealer yet but if we do there will inevitably be a 6 year wait..... Any opinions as to whether we should force the old seat off and re-use it or does anyone know where one might be obtained from quickly? Thanks :(

need help quick
255/35/18 will be much closer to stock diameter than 265/35/28, so would really be a better option for speedo accuracy. Short answer, yes they are ok and would compliment 235/40/18 on front

Divorce????!!!! When I asked my wife what she wanted for birthday, she replied a divorce. F**k off I replied, I wasn't planning on spending THAT much:D But then I've only had my Zed since June. I had a Supra before that and I can't ever remember being wrong. It's just that sometimes I'm not as right as I usually am!!!!!:D LOL

Headlights
Theyey should fit the jap spec, because UK lights have plain H3 fitment bulbs, not H3C. By the way, I'm another fan of Chris's sig:p Much better than b19rks':D (Always prefer a brunette, but I didn't notic her hair colour:D )

Idle (again!!)
Thanks for advice, all:) The TPS connectors were actually quite clean before I took them off. There was a little engine grime but no green oxide or anything needing a good scrub (I only needed to wipe them with kitchen towel and spray with WD40) I'll try the test recommended by Danny and get a new TPS if needed. Richard:)

falken tyres
I was going to purchase them for the rear on my old Supra, but the compound was so hard they wouldn't "pop" onto the alloys when the fitter tried to inflate them. I've just bought new wheels for the Zed, supplier usually fits Falkens with each package. But the cost of upgrading to Goodyear GDS3 jobbies was so small (only £50 more for all 4) so no guesses what I went for. IMHO the goodyears are the best tyre I have ever used:cool: If you can, get them instead

Idle (again!!)
Hi all Continuing fast idle problem. (uk TT auto) After previous post, (cleaned TB's 3-4 weeks/1500 miles ago) and idle has been around 1000rpm since. I acted on the advice last given and cleaned the idle control valve thingy today. I reset the ECU (disconnected battery for 1.25 hours. I initially removed the two plugs from ECU but as engine still started, I didn't know if they were the right ones so played safe with battery disconnection too). I also cleaned the TPS connectors while waiting for good measure. Anyway when all done, I started the car and let it warm up. Woohoo, approx 700rpm idle:) I went for a drive of 3 miles or so and when I got home and put gear into park it went back to 1000rpm:mad: Any suggestions or should I get Nissan to rest it?

Which do you prefer ?
I don't like the ali finish at all. Carbon quite nice though, especially Mac's combo. I prefer the standard, which would look good with chrome dial surrounds and (maybe) cream/white dial faces.

Whistling noise
Heh heh, the furry feckers want to keep those turbos spinning:D

Whistling noise
Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed a faint whistle that rises with engine speed. It doesn't do it all the time and there appears to be no pattern (engine hot, cold etc etc). I realised it was only inside the car as it couldn't be heard with windows down (phew, not the turbos:) ) I turned down the stereo to hear it better and switched a/c off to see if it was the motor. Not that However when I turned the stereo vol. to zero, it stopped. Found it!!!:) Just turning vol to 1 (ie not able to hear radio), the whistle returned. It does it with some CDs not others and some radio stations, not others. Any suggestions?
