Wheels/offset/sizes for Azevs

I have a nice new set of Azev 'M' wheels, 8.5 front and 10 for the back. They have an positive offset of 43mm. Now, I am not an expert, although I kind of understand the theory behind offsets, but, will these wheels fit on a Z OK? They were bought for a Toyota Soarer which I sold, and as far as I can gather this is the same fitment as a Supra. Will they fit a Z? I know one or two people here have Azev 'A's. Is the offset etc for these the same?

Hi Rich

I have Azev A rims, I got them from DT motorsport who are the official importers of Azev into the UK.

They order them to be drilled specifically for each car direct from the factory in Germany.

Mine are 9.5X17 rear and 8X17 front. I believe they are ET30 offset all round, according to the printed info under the centre cap.

If you are in doubt, phone Dave at DT motorsport on 01708 630 528.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

That's where I got them! He was very helpful. Trouble is, I sold the soarer before I got the wheels because I want a TT Z! I guess I might have to nip over to the Supra (!) owners club or something and offer them there. I just thought maybe with wide rims especially at the back the offset might be OK. I have read about people being very particular over the offset, and then it seems others have had wheels with less of an offset than desirable and they seem to have been fine with them. THis is what gets me confused.

Hi rich

I think you should be OK, as generally the wheels for Supra, Zed RX7 and GTO are interchangeable.

The only difference is the centre hole, if the wheels are drilled for a specific car. Some companies drill a larger hole anyway and fill it with a plastic spacer to reduce the size for different cars.

I don't remember which is larger, Zed or Supra. There has been a thread here before (re Big Roy's car, I think) on this one.

So the answer is if the Supra has the smallest hole you will have to get it drilled to fit your Z, if the Z version has the smallest hole get spacers from DT motorsport.

Thanks for the reply on that one. Means I shouldn't have wasted £800! They gave a good price (including Khumo tyres).

Cheers,

Rich
