Classy or Rover Vitesse?? You decide
Mike, It's a great ZX but I have to admit, it is better now you have removed the wood effect. I'm not a fan of stick-on wood trim in any car TBH as I think it's tacky. If you have a Jag or Aston and the wood trim is factory-fit that's a different matter. Richard

Adjustable steering column
Probably a mistake - the seller either doesn't know his ZXs or has cut and pasted words from another car's advert Richard

I.D. Cards????
Here here

I.D. Cards????
Infringement on our civil liberties, that's why. They will have absolutely no effect on terrorism as many recent suicide bombers were UK citizens anyway - they'd have ID cards FFS so it won't stop them blowing trains etc up....... This government already wants to know too much - like the 2011 census demanding we declare income etc. Why? the Inland Revenue already have that info. It's all about control, we are the most "watched" country in Europe. Now I've nothing to hide but those that do will simply find a way around it so what's the real benefit. There should also most definately NOT be a single database with all our personal information accessible. Keep them all separate like now - Inland Revenue, UK Passport, DVLA etc etc. They should not have cross-links to each other. Time to emigrate I think  Richard

Street Cred Zed...
 Exactly! Just the magazine giving people what they want to hear, like the salivating dogs they are  Granted, the Imprezza is a good road car but would I have one? No, too many doors.....plus if I want a 4x4 I'll buy an SUV not a car. OK I did briefly think about having one as a daily driver but it was a very brief thought and no more...... It may be a wolf in sheep's clothing but then sheep all tend to follow one and other  Richard

Wheels
Just for info, stock UK car wheel sizes are 7.5 wide fronts and 8.5 wide rears...... ........If you are going for 18s then 8.5 wide rears would just be OK with 255/35/18 tyres but 9 inch + rears would be better (as already said above). Richard :)

cool bulbs
What Danny said...... .....plus as LEDs use a fraction of the power a normal bulb would, I guess you'd have the "bulb out" warning on the dash constantly. Richard :)

my zeds dead in crash! pics to follow
Sorry to hear that mate  My personal opinion, let the insurers write it off and negotiate a decent a decent settlement sum. Get all your upgrades off (the HIDs brakes, etc) and let them have it. Buy a new one with the pay-out and add your bits to it. Whatever happens, the car won't be the same after your repairs, plus if it is a "recorded" write off then it will be worth pennies once repaired anyway. Good luck, Richard :)

Either that or sue the driver personally - she was responsible for the damage and in the absence of insurance cover, she is liable for the damage. Hope you get it sorted mate Richard

300 vs Supra
Hey Si, rember that GTO we passed when you were test-driving your ZX  The GT/GTO is nowhere near as quick 0-100 as a zx. OK it may be a 4x4 but it weighs 1/4 tonne more! (However there are some seriously modded ones out there.....) I think the GT (uk spec latest shape) is a nice car but having driven a few before buying a 300zx, I still chose the zx. Mid-range overtaking acceleration in the GT is pants compared to a ZX  Richard :p
-
300 vs Supra
That is probably true. The Supra came out in 1993 here - 3 years after the 300zx. The reason the Supra was such a good car was all down to the 300zx - Toyota already planned the replacement for the Mk3 Soop around 1990 but when the 300zx appeared, Toyota went back to the drawing board because the zx was soooo good. Despite a stock UK Soop being faster/better handling than a stock UK 300zx, the zx remains the better drivers car. Plus the Supra is still fekking ugly and despite being a newer design, it has aged badly compared to the zx. The zx has a timeless look about it  Richard :p

Off the road
Can't bear to leave mine unused for the winter..... ......OK it lives in the garage most of the time but I still hope to use it at least once a week until spring  Richard :)

Riced out moggy minor...
Always hated them anyway. Moggies, Beetles and Allegros. And to those nerdish 40 year old virgin owners that refer to them as classics - THEY'RE NOT!!! An e-type or DB5 is a true classic. A work of automotive art that generations (still) aspire to owning (a bit like the 300zx will be  ). But the morris was never good. Best thing they ever did was rust away...... Richard :p

Who,s Your All Time Hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why not! :) Although I would have to say Homer Simpson........ ........"you've tried your best and failed miserably. The lesson is never try!" Wise words there  Richard

Green taxes on the way
This is true - BUT this government are just intent on taxing everything that moves. They will not just be honest and raise direct taxes, they just bring in new "stealth taxes" so we don't realise we're being ass-f#cked :xxx: Classic example is the climate change levy, charging us VAT on domestic power. Well hang on, some electricity is from nuclear power stations and they DON'T give off CO2......... Plus tax on car ownership is just another wealth/liberty tax. Cars only contribute a very small percentage of CO2 gas anyway - it's big industry that is the greatest polluter. Look at China now, their growing economy is causing tons of CO2 getting released into the atmosphere. Yet all Blair & co want is to stop the British people from using their cars period. Ignorant tossers  Richard
