  1. Watch again mate...... ......he "hoped it wouldn't be Z32 vs Z33" because he wanted the older cars to win; and the Z33 is respected as a reasonable performance coupe. Check out his demeanour when the Z32 won;) Richard:D ps your very car still out performed all other Z variants in a shoot-out; even with a boost leak! Gio drove it against JC in a Z33:p
  2. Good call Steve:bow::bow: Fine examples must command high prices to blot out the £2k Ebay shite. Richard:smw:
  3. Don't forget that the Z32 was featured in Jeremy Clarkson's top 100 cars of all time...... .....Granted that was some time ago, but the Supra and 3000gt didn't get a look in! Also the humble Z32 won the final "New vs Old" contest against the 350z; restoring JC's credibility by supporting his opinion then new cars are slower than their earlier incantaions:tongue: Richard:cool:
  4. I don't think it will matter really..... .....TG is just a bit of fun after all. Last Sunday with the Alfa challenges, The Hamster bought a Spider. Everyone could see it was a very poor example, reflected by the price he paid. The Concourse task at the end showed there were very fine examples out there, all of which are capable of going for good money by virture of their condition. I doubt that classic Alfa Spiders will lose money and credibility because of the ropey shit heap Hammond purchased. Richard:cool:
  5. I do normally mate....... ........but I decided that I'd had enough and left at 4 today;) However, many of the day time posters probably work in IT or the like and spend all day at work surfing the web, wasting their employers' time!!!! Richard:D
  6. I like the Z33 and did consider one as a daily driver, whilst still keeping the ZX of course!! I do like your ZX though Steve, one of the best on the forum in fact, and it would be a real shame to part with it..... Richard:cool:
  7. Mine too...... Although the first time it was a bit tricky.... Richard:confused::tongue:
  8. Me too........ .......but that style of wheel always looks better on a white ZX for some reason!! Richard:)
  9. Exactly! Hardly a pressing issue, since the economy has the potential of going straight down the drain, really?..... And he then says that supermarkets "should stop the 3 for 1 offers" to discourage people buying too much. Sorry, but Sainsbury's, Tesco's et al are private businesses (albeit those in which the public may own shares). So who the feck is he to dictate how the boards of directors should run said businesses???? Mind your own business Gordon - the supermarkets may be greedy b@stards who fleece farmers; however if they can assist the less well off in keeping the prices of food down during the credit crunch, then let them. If this bunch of clowns in Government had spent a little more time dealing with real issues, instead of making schools teach gay rights; letting lesbos adopt children and opening our borders to all and sundry etc etc etc then they may just have noticed the economy going down the U-bend. Richard:cry:
  10. That's why I will never buy a car on finance........;) Does that include any maintenance though - some PCPs do provide for service and repairs? Looking at those costs, it is quite apparent that the car is expected to depreciate heavily - look at a similar contract for something like a Boxster and the total repayments may not appear so extortionate. You are paying for the depreciation of the car - the balloon payment is supposed to represent the future residual value. £11.5k after 3 years is only 38% of its new cost. I reckon the Boxster, along with various Mercs etc, are still worth at least 50% (or more) of their new cost after 3 years. Hence the repayments work out more economical. Richard:smw:
  11. Yes..... .....well he was a couple of days ago! Richard:smw:
  12. Many happy returns Athene......:dance: I hope the day was good to you...... ........and the evening even better!! ATB Richard:)
  13. Yes you can - see Paul C's "sticky" thread about it;) However I doubt that a simple "fast fit" centre would have the expertise to perform the conversion properly....... Best contact an a/c specialist IMO....... Richard:cool:
  14. Wise words, Dan:bow:
  15. They are the same company mate!! Admiral, Bell Direct and Elephant. Plus one other - one of the "girls only" ones like Sheila's Wheels or Diamond; I don't remember which! Richard;)
  16. Aye - ....."when the devil vomits in your kettle"........ (Quote = Edmund Blackadder.......)
  17. Well she has certainly given me a hot tip.........:slap: Richard:o
  18. Good luck with the new machine James............ .........I can't say I'm a fan of the Smart after driving one (just once) a couple of weeks ago; but as you live/work in London it must make more sense than a Z;) Richard:smw:
  19. Forget Kwak Fart mate - the 300zx uses the old air con gas (R12 I believe). KF cannot do anything for it; you'll need a specialist who can either perform the conversion to R134 or supply the R12 substitute. Richard;) edit - I may have quoted the gas types the wrong way round. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.........
  20. Hey Alex, I already had slight judder on braking. Then I needed an inner and outer HICAS joint replacing for my MOT - after which the wheel allignment needed resetting. Since I knew the tension rod bushes were shot, I bought the new rods ready for fitting before I had the allignment done. Afterall there was no point having the allignment done and then replacing the tension rods later only to waste money on a re-allignment! I got the garage to do the tension rods and a 4-wheel allignment set up - DS Automotives in Aylesbury; who are Japanese car specialists. I suppose I could have replaced the rods myself - they must be easy as I was charged less than an hour's labour for fitting them! Richard:cool:
  21. Hi Mark, As you have a daily driver, you could do a lot worse than contact Lynbrooks. Give them a call on 0845 1304 662. Gio recommended them on here a year ago and they came good for me! If you search their name here, I think you'll find a few members are pretty pleased with Lynbrooks! Good luck mate, Richard;)
  22. Julia saw a grey 300zx in her work's car park this afternoon..... ........On lower Road, Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury. She works in the Belmore Centre; next to Thrifty Rent a Car and Spray-tech car body repairs. Anyone here? Richard:)
  23. Yes - you're right, they weren't very funny......... .........and one of my mate's dads looked like Sid Little at the time. Funny thing was, his name was Sid as well; not that I ever took the piss:nono::tongue: Richard:rofl:
  24. Heh heh heh - I did that too Si...... Richard:)
  25. I'd agree - if the damage is minimal get him to send you the quote and settle it with him directly. You do not have to give your insurance details at this stage. Your insurance company will only find out if he reports the accident to his insurers and they go via the motor insurance database to see who you are insured with. Richard:cool:
