  1. Tell the mechanic to check all the vac pipes, injector plugs and PTU connections. Mine ran similarly when i fitted my new engine, easy to check before you go down the road of another engine pull. What is he using to check the oil pressure? I bet he has missed a vac pipe under the drivers throttle body too
  2. Cool mate much appreciated.
  3. Central locking is not working from inside the car or manually from the key in the door
  4. Power steering control module http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-POWER-STEERING-MODULE-UNIT-COMPUTER-28500-43P10-OEM-/270821524061
  5. Nope that didnt work, apparently there is a triangular orange light on the dash, if that means anything. Im going to have a look at it for him tomorrow, could be a door solenoid or electrical connection somewhere, if not will check to see if the pump has voltage and if any air is being pumped.
  6. Congratulations to you both on your new arrival, all the best for the future.
  7. Cheers Paul, will tell him to give it a go today. The pump apparently has been replaced, along with wiring, they have obviously missed something. Im not sure if it originally had water in, although i know the Audi has similar problems, will take a look over it later today with him to see. Will let you know Cheers Graham
  8. Hi Mate, i thought as you work for Merc you might be able to help me. My mate has a 99 SLK and the central locking doesnt work, he had the pump replaced and apparently wiring, but still no luck. Does the pump need to be recoded or could it be something else? Many thanks Graham
  9. Glad you got it sorted John, i would suggest checking your targa drain pipe, normally the biggest culprit with water down the back of the board. Its a known problem regarding the plastic tube not connected or the metal pipe corroded as it goes down to the sill area, hence any water down the drain tube ends up at the back of the relay board.
  10. I think in this day and age there is no need to burn stuff in your garden, it smells bloody awful, washing out or not lol. But i do remember living in the North East years ago and smelling the coal burning fires from nearly every house in the village, there was something nostalgic about that, thinking back, but whenever i smell burning rubbish from someones back garden, it turns my stomach.
  11. Funnily enough i had steak tonight, before i read this.I just told the other half about the day and she just laughed ( Bitch) that wasnt the reply i was hoping for, but the night isnt over yet
  12. The 99 spec are not actually smoked, its the fact the rear housing is black, gives them that effect, i had mine apart to fit some leds inside, so you could try spraying the inner housing white or silver to give the you the clear look, but not sure if anyone has tried it before.
  13. Ok in that case it will, i thought it was for a N/A rear diff conversion lol
  14. No, the first half of the TT and N/A are the same 606mm second half differ manual TT prop length (spider to spider) 1st half... 606mm 2nd half... 508mm manual NA prop length (spider to spider) 1st half... 606mm 2nd half... 539mm
  15. The most likely cause yes, it controls the dash lights, dimming, intermittent wiper, open up the box and look for burnt tracks, you may be able to re solder the track or make a connection using thin gauge wire soldered to each end of the burnt track.
  16. It is an opaque colour box the size of a fag packet, located in the drivers footwell behind the plastic panel closest to the door The green relay next to it is the fuel pump relay
  17. A18 in the diagram http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=59886&d=1306279937
  18. Check the large fuses at the battery terminal, you might have a master fuse out. Also check the glow plug fuse in the same area.
  19. Its possible your accessories relay has a short on the board where it plugs in, may have had water ingression in the past damaging the terminals or causing corrosion not making contact. Also next to the fuse board nearer the door, is the TCU, time control unit, which controls the intermittent wipers, light dimming, dash lights etc, might be worth checking the plug to it or even taking the casing off to check the tracks on the board. Will find a diagram and post it up

  21. Looks fantastic, do you have any more pics, interior too.
  22. When i converted mine, i got rid of the long bleed pipe and bought a master to slave pipe from the zcentre for £20, then bled the slave up top, before i fed it down to the gearbox, so much easier. I did find my slave cylinder was seized, so had to work the piston in and out for a while till it freed up. It then bled in no time at all.
  23. You can still get that without the insurance involvement. Autoglass will source the correct glass that you require, also check out the windscreen threads, Pilkington glass, phutumsch, all had info regarding the screen
  24. I built up all the parts over a period of time, so didnt feel the pinch of the cost, but i never intend to sell it, so im happy to continue till its finished, then start again on a TT or another N/A for a V8 conversion:drool:
