How to polish throttle bodies and linkage
Firstly will need to remove the TB from the plenum, so you have them seperated from the linkage. I found using the cutting compound with the sisal mop was enough on its own for the throttle linkage and springs, so doesnt need sanding. Throttle body a combination of dremel with various wheels and i used an oakey rust/paint removing wheel from B&Q to start the surface removal then onto a brillo style wheel ( smoother, not as coarse) then onto the the sisal mops.

what ever happened to danny dta and smithy
Well thats just it, there isnt a big demand for car specific goodies, with a relatively small market base and im sure ebay and US suppliers helped the decline. Smithy also sold his zed

fitting steering rack gaitors
Buy a universal split gaitor, always easier than taking any joints off, dry and joined in 20mins.

Went to Amsterdam at the weekend
I would loved to have come along Ian, but June is always usually busy for me, last weekend was the only time this month im not working. If you go to Cocos outback for the ribs again, seriously dont bother, they were disgusting. I spent ages looking for the place as we went there in 08 and i remembered the rack of ribs being superb. How time has changed ( or chef) lol. Have a good time, look forward to seeing some pics when you get back.

Went to Amsterdam at the weekend
Odd shoes lol, never done that, but i did have my zip break on my jeans going to the airport, it was 6am so a bit nippy for shorts, but after constantly walking round the airport trying to cover up with my T shirt, i decided to put my shorts on and have done with it lol

Went to Amsterdam at the weekend
Just thought i would share my weekend. As above went to Amsterdam on sat morning and got back yesterday evening. Main point of going was to give my other half her first experience of flying, believe it or not she is nearly 40 and had never flown lol or been abroad at all until i took her to Paris year before last. Firstly the weather, like here was amazing, didnt take a jacket, went in shorts and came back in shorts, only took hand luggage, so no messing about at the airport. I went to Amsterdam in '08 on a zrun and always fancied another visit at some time, so i decided for a short break now was a good time. I booked a hotel literally in the heart of the city, so nowhere was too far to walk, although we did walk for bloody miles lol It wasnt that cheap at 177euros for the night, i could have had a 4 or 5 star further out the centre, but we didnt spend long in the room anyway, literally shower and sleep. Restaurants every step you take, so the choice is great, but i have to say everything is pricey, the bloody euro is the worst invention ever It made no odds really that the pound is stronger because everything is just rounded up and for a simple bottle of water was 2 euro. Plus in restaurants they add local tax 6% and vat at 5%. For example we went to a steakhouse for a meal around midnight and a sirloin, chips, salad, garlic bread, missus only had a banana split, i had 2 pints of lager, she had a malibu and coke, came to 57 euros:blink: I dont mind paying good money for a good night out but i hate being ripped off:no: I think i spent a total of £180 for a day and half. Weekend with flights and acc best part of £400. I could have gone to spain for a week for the 2 of us for that lol. So conclusion, had a great time, she loved it, but very expensive considering we are in the European union, not like the old days when you could really go to town with very little money in comparison. Truly great city to visit, that never sleeps, always something to do or somewhere to go, obviously had to visit the redlight district, tried not to look too long and hard in the windows as i had the missus tugging at my hand:laugh: Feet and legs are still aching from all the walking, but it was nice to get back in the zed with the roof off for the drive home from the airport. Any questions, or you feel like a visit sometime and want to know more, let me know. Cheers Graham

Legality of removing a childseat in the rear of a 2+2?
My 6 year old and 12 year old sit in the rear with no problems, i have blacked out side windows, so no one sees in anyway, but as said, as long as the seat belt covers the shoulder and across the stomach, it should be safe enough. Safer than a booster flopping around corners lol

PAS pump fitment
IIRC you need to use a TT pulley on the N/A pump for the belts. There is a thread somewhere with precisely the info you need as it has been done/mentioned before. Do a search, you might be lucky.

Climate control problem
When you press the auto button, take it down to 10, then raise it to 16, should get cold within about 15/20 secs. Mine does a similar thing, when i restart the car after stopping for a while, i find adjusting the temp again does the trick.

Plastidip and importing
Yes its a Uk company Lee, based in Hampshire. You have to use their primer too and if done in thin layers, should not peel. You might have had a contaminated part you were painting, which will have reacted with the paint.

throttle Bodys .. someone told me
Grinding the stops was the way to do it and as said the angle would be wrong with the butterfly at WOT, there is a thread on it somewhere, will try and dig it out.

throttle Bodys .. someone told me
It has been mentioned before Mark and its not true im afraid. If you look at the angle of the intake of the TB it does already fully open to allow the most air in at the best angle. If they opened up further, you are then hindering the air intake. Bigger throttle bodies are more likely to give a better air intake, but i dont personally see how much difference it would make.
