  1. Some may remember this thread recently link I got in touch with the guy based on the original thread on tt.net and he's given me a call back today. They're looking for another 1 or 2 standard (ish) cars to help them out next Monday, 8th December at 12noon till 2pm. Location is Transport Research Laboratory Crowthorne House, Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 3GA Essentially it's a runway and they'd like to do some hard accelaration runs and record some parameters to help their investigation. They're looking to cover you're fuel and maybe even replace your tires! Let me know if you can make it so I can pass on your details. Need names asap really so they can sort out their insurance, security access etc. I can't go myself as I'm busy at work and my Z has been modded too much
  2. i have a 540 touring for the family car, they're great :)
  3. i think front half of the TT one with rear half of the n/a should do the trick (assuming n/a onw was also from a SWB)
  4. rears won't fit with that offset, anyway 20's look silly!
  5. on mine, we had to modify the oil filter housing to make space. Will ask for the full details. Nice setup by the way ;)
  6. exactly, I agree with your understanding, but a poll is no use unless everyone uses follows that rule :)
  7. what's your definition of spool up time?
  8. i have the front ksports and don't have a problem. You probably have a knackered rose joint or bush somewhere. It will only need a little play to be picked up by a larger brake setup
  9. nice work, when does the bypass open? manually operated or at a set rpm?
  10. when does it happen? all the time, or only when in gear or when clutch is dipped? does it happen in neutral?
  11. John, Congratulations, that's a huge milestone and it sounds great :D How much more before she's on the road?
  12. depends, are they the same width?
  13. which gears are you spinning in? at 14 psi, with warm tires you should be able to hold full boost in 2nd and above.
  14. sounds about right. What's the garage again, looking at options for getting my AEM tuned, my alternatives seem to be booked for the next few weeks.

  16. looks great. How much hassle was it to take the car over?
  17. I think they're referring to second series of PTU, not in line with the model revisions.
  18. where's the oil temp sensor situated?
  19. at idle (closed TBs), the air is drawn via the IACV which is on the passenger side. with the TBs open it will be balanced.
  20. Mark, the CAS isssue, did you have problems first then fitted the disc or did you get it just in case?
  21. lol, it's over 15years old so it's not surprising. I picked up my 98' 540 touring for £3k a few months ago and the list price on that was £47k !
  22. depends on the tune, not the mods themselves. eg, still dumping fuel into the engine when coming off throttle or hitting rev limit
  23. Depends how conservatively the turbos are rated and if they're quoting bhp or rwhp.Other than that, as Kirbz says, you won't get much but hot air after that. Nos will add power. water/meth will let you get closer to max power.
