  2. wrong profile tyre = decreased gearing and slower acceleration heavy cast alloys = slower performance all round (stock alloys are quite light - approx 17lbs)
  3. you can replace the gearsick bushes and put a short shifter on, makes a big difference. Sounds like you had a good day. Did you do the full day or the 20min sessions.
  4. As Legarth says, I have the SZ sump and I'm happy with it. Will let you know how I stands up to track work next year. I've also done the PCV relocation and added oil return lines from the heads back to the sump to prevent oil pooling in the heads at high rpms.
  5. unless you have some serious mods, I would guess he's running it in still ;)
  6. a lot is down to pads as well as old calipers. Both of my Zeds had 'race' brake pads when I got them which were shocking! Hardly slowed you down at all because they never got up to temperature under normal driving. Switched to decent pads and a world of difference.
  7. lol, what happened?
  8. hold your horses. That's a lot of money on new Standard stuff that could be better spent elsewhere. You should also note Nick's comment on the ABS system...
  9. I wonder, do you still count it as a bargain after reading this thread?
  10. glad it all worked out :) I've been so busy at work I forgot that was today. Any pics?
  11. you can do what I do :) Take a plastic flower pot cut out the bottom and cut down one side to give you a curved plastic sheet place this under the headlight panel, making sure to slid the bottom between the panel mount and the top of the bumper. one MAF rain cover ;)
  12. Thanks guys, I've forwarded your details and cc'd you.
  13. pretty sure you'd be driving. Will confirm
  14. that should be fine :)
  15. no  to be fair my own fault. It was ready but then i asked to wire up twin fuel pumps and that caused some electrical issues.
  16. lol, the free tires a tank of fuel will be worth it. PM me your details if you're interested
  17. PS they'd rather get the cars there on the day so will take modified cars too.
  18. Right I need confirmation from guynkate so could do with another volunteer or two There are 2 space available and they've confirmed that all tires will be replaced and full tank of petrol provided! I need the following details today Make: Nissan Model: 300ZX Year: Engine number: Registration: Mileage: MOT expiry date: Tax expiry date: Tyre make and model with speed rating and load rating information (to replace the tyres - if you have a mixture, please list only one make and model of preferred tyre):
  19. how much boost are you running? wouldn't be surprised if you're in safety mode...
  20. take a look at SMW1's post in the dyno section. Same turbos, though he does have manifolds as well.
