  1. Has any of you out there happen to have a red ZED with a black or carbon wrapped bonnet? My car is not the original red (has been re-sprayed in the past) and I have a bonnet in a different colour, and I have no reference to which red paint was used and have found it impossible to colour match it to the car, arrrrhh!! I have had a mess around with Photoshop, but nothing beats the real thing. I have been thinking about wrapping my SE Nissan bonnet, but I'm not too sure? Any thoughts, help appreciated as always.
  2. Welcome back to the dream.......nightmare.......love......hate......can't live with or without one!! Nice looking unmolested car; brilliant find!
  3. Very good. Just how I feel! I'll be better once I've sunk a whiskey or 2.
  4. Hurry up and get another one matey. It's a crime to have a bare garage, especially this time of year. As for cars owned and now missed, I would have to say my RS 500 is the one car I wish I had kept hold of, only because I could now sell it and have 4 Zeds. Let's hope you get what you need from the insurance!!
  5. Looking as sharp as ever mate. Very smart zed!!
  6. My name, TONY O, MY number plate H10NYO. Not a ZED plate but good for myself. Been pulled over a few times for my preferred letter spacing though!!
  7. Looking good there mate, as said-good effort. Have you worked out the brightness/function of the brake lights? Well done.
  8. Agree with the over indulgence, the pressures of raising enough cash to buy presents for everyone, the fact that the true origins are no longer of interest lah di dah, but for me it is a guaranteed time of the year (when not spending it in the desert) to be with family and friends. And let's not forget guys, this is the one time of the year when we can legitimately have new things for the ZED, inside the house on full display of the missus, without her throwing a hissy fit. Yes, there is loads wrong with the economics of Christmas, but there are also a few positives! When else can you have a full suspension kit in your lounge and not get a *****#!ing. Bring on the 25th!!
  9. Good effort mate, I enjoyed that.
  10. Glad you got it sorted and they look good, although that photo has given the effect of making your car look like it's a model on a set, sweet.
  11. Not for me bud, 10/40 is what I use and I run my car all over southern Europe in the Summer; way above British summertime temperatures. lol.
  12. Well done mate, glad you got it sorted...................now post some pictures of them fitted lol.
  13. I think it's going to look bloody lovely mate. That colour with accents of black is going to give your Zed a 'bang up to date' look. Well done for being patient, it will all pay off when you get the car back. Sweet!
  14. Here you go matey, I'm bad! I advertised the last show in an earlier thread but I was the only forum member there. Well worth a look though. Directions to Hall Farm, The Drift, Fornham St Martin, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk IP31 1SL. I will keep updating this thread as I learn more. Ta, Tony.
  15. That will be good Al, displaying your car I take it and sharing a beer or 2?? Cant believe I never knew about this, right on our doorstep!
  16. Hi all, I thought I would take the opportunity to say hello to those of you who don't know me and ask if anyone is going to Chirk castle this weekend for the Supercar bash and WRC? I usually reside on the otherside of the country in sunny Suffolk and REO for the EA region but for the next couple of years I will be imposing on the Welsh island of Anglesey. Anyway, I hope in the New Year to join you at one of your meets when I bring my Zed over this way and look forward to getting her on some of the stunning roads you have over this way. Hopefully I might stumble across a Zed in the car park at Chirk on saturday, if not take care. Tony.
  17. Hi all, I know, I know ,I know! Its very early for any kind of solid commitment but!!!.... I have been in contact with the owner and management team of this venue and as I have said in another post, this is a brilliant event for our region and is by far one of the biggest dedicated to cars on our doorstep. It looks like it will be August/September again next year and it could be a lot of fun. In the past this has only been a one day event attracting over 400 cars. The plan for 2014 is to run it over the whole weekend including arrivals and entertainment on the friday night. The management team are in the throws of making this event bigger than ever. Now, don't get too carried away, the event takes place on a large grass field next to a small lake so there is no race circuit! This event is all about like minded people (petrol heads) enjoying each others company, over a beer or 2, surrounded by some lovely machinery and exotic marques. I will be taking my car, my beer and my tent. As soon as the dates are released I will post and ask for numbers so I can reserve a pitch (hopefully a large one). I will be taking a BBQ for all to use and will provide (depending on numbers) a chilli/curry for saturday night. If you google the title you will see previous events and some of the images. There will be entertainment on Saturday and if not there is a large pub down the road. I will keep you all up to date as I learn more. I will hopefully see some of you way before this event in the new year when I am able to return from the deepest parts of North Wales!! Cheers, Tony
  18. Plain sad!!! These people have no respect for themselves let alone someone else's property. It makes me sick and I would to take them under my wing in forces for a week or two. Hopefully the insurance will pay what you're owed, but a shame we are another ZED down.
  19. Chuck me, that was close! Love the car matey, and love the backdrop of clear blue skies in your pictures, much the same over here....NOT!!!!
  20. Mmmmm, some nice additions there. Good luck with the overhaul and keep us posted with the makeover.
  21. Vig, its a DIY job with some patience and some black sealant. I will gladly give you a hand anytime and fit your slam panel covers if you can stomach the drive. The Targa panels are the fiddly bits, but if you tackle those first you will see where the hidden tappers are and possibly cure your leak first. Let me know if you need anymore guidence mate or want a hand.
  22. The second set up would suit the look and function you are after IMO. interesting that you would do this on a 99 spec bumper though. With so much cutting and changing, wouldn't you be better off with an older bumper style and save the 99 for investment or a rainy day if you change your mind? Good luck with the project though and keep us up to date with pictures of your changes.
  23. Ahhh, a loadie!!! I am at Valley at the moment, in the Mess so I see few of your lot at the bar, lol, and yes I'm one of those ace techies!! Hope you get it sorted, any problems give me a shout and I'll put you in touch with a techie up north, on base who will help you out. Take care in that doorway, you never know who fixed it last!!
  24. Hey up bud, I take it that you don't work on that big yellow Sig picture. Go and see on of the Techies on Sqn or in depth maintenance and they will be able to help you out with the stud extraction and possible o-ring replacement and if they are nice like me, they'll let you keep the tool, lol.
  25. Always great to hear good news relating to our cars. Well done for sticking at it mate, hopefully she will pay you back in kind when she's on the road.
