fooked diff.
Where about are you, going off your 'was it you' post; are you in Wales?

fooked diff.
It's the whirring noise that's bugging me. An out of balance prop will vibrate the car at certain speeds, yes, but as for the sound; I would be concerned that you can hear it whilst doing 80 over road and engine noise level. As for 'universal from eBay' I wouldn't be messing around with the drive train. If you do suspect the prop, I'm sure someone on here will have one lying around that you could fault diagnose with (2 piece with bearing) that you could try. Relatively a quick job.

Somethings not right there. I would be getting underneath asap and checking assembly out for movement and 'float' on the prop. Yeah, get it in the air it my become apparent.

Oops missed the bit about vibration, that could definitely be the prop. Did you get the complete set up off a known car?

Can't see how it could be the one piece prop, nothing mechanical. Obviously what it it joins together is. Wiring sounds like gearing and if it is the back end, drive shafts/diff. Bearings usually tend to make more of a rumbling sound. Check your diff oil level especially if you have recently changed it over. If you can, get the rear end up in the air (good quality stands), start her up and put her into gear and have a listen, hopefully you will hear it a low revs and no load.

Cannot seperate engine from gearbox - driving me crazy
I'm liking it too, but can't imagine the Dragons Den getting a patent for it though. Does the job, engineering at its best!! Think I will copy the idea.

zed is dead
Great to hear you have not given up on the old girl. Brittle wiring in the engine bay was the problem I once had, tried everything to eliminate firing issues. In the end and one by one I removed the conduit and replaced/spliced in new wire as close to the bulk head as I could and joined them to all the coil packs, to the MAF and injectors. Piece of mind and all ready for the next time she decides to test my Z dedication!!Lol. Well done guys with the help.

Well done guys, pictures and car's look good. Gutted I couldn't make either of these, maybe next time if I'm not stuck in north west Wales. My job really f#!s me off sometimes, especially over summer. Well done Ted.

Not me mate, but would be worth while touching base with Ted, I think he is up for it. I wish I could rather than sitting on the road for 5 hours.

A great day out and and a chance to meet.
OK peeps, take a look at this spotted by a fellow EA member. Looks like a fantastic day out with an opportunity to meet some other members. I know it's short notice but some of you may be going to this already. If you think you can make it, drop Ted a line here and try and get some interest. I would of defo gone to this had it not been for me emigrating to Wales. Ted, let's see what happens matey. Well done, good spot. We will have to remember this for next year and give people more notice. Nice one though!!! Anyway, details.... Over 700 vehicles attend, representing the last 10 decades of motoring history, including many from Britain's motoring heyday - marques on display included Alvis, Bristol, Jensen, AC Riley, Armstong Sideley, Lea Francis, Crossley, BSA, Lagonda, Lanchester and Gordon Keeble. Happy birthday fellow suffolker, all the best.

Garage lighting
The quick fit sockets are still available although not too sure if these conform to latest legislation???? Why not connect it properly or leave the strip light on a plug and cord so you can move it around or leave it hanging.

Beaten - by One bolt.....
If you have one, use a crows foot and instead of putting a ratchet on the foot put a universal joint on reverse then put an extension and ratchet on the end. A 1/4 assembly will work easier than a 3/8. You will need a bucket full of patients. Also, clean up and lubricate an old bolt and bolt it back in place. This will help take the load off the other bolt. A pain in the ass, but this is how I done it, along with some heavy swearing and chafed knuckles.

The phoenix will rise from the ashes

header tank
It's not meant to leak mate, but yes the neck is desperate and fits onto the bottle. Try pushing and twisting it back down.

EBAY Advice on rules and refunds etc
He could do mate, but PayPal and eBay fall under the same public doctrine and legislative governance as main stream shops and banks. Both accounts are linked to him personally by name and address along with email address and phone numbers. I had something similar 2 years back, I got messed around for 7 weeks before finally my items turned up. Ended up being that the seller was acting as a middle man, only buying the items from another company once he sold the item (at a bumped up price) on eBay. I opened a case on him and he emailed me apologizing and explaining that his supplier had let him down. This is against ebay rules, not physically having the item and the result was, he had his account locked until I received the items.

Above & Beyond
Nice to hear you made it against your deadline. Keep us updated on your progress matey. On another note, could you imagine how good it would be if all the ZED specialists you hear so much about on this forum, who work their magic on Zeds were all working under one roof. Now that would be awesome!!

Body damage
My friend, my dad owned a body centre before retirement and I grew up panel beating and spraying, and if you want that done properly then it is s full rear hatch re-spray. I left the trade in 1998 and back then it was roughly £150 per panel; so I would say that is a good price. They might back mask off the spoiler to save painting it. Very straightforward.
