Paintwork covered in micro blisters...........
Ahh I can see what the problem is now. Single pack cellulose or 2 Pack paint can react like this depending on when and how the paint was applied and under what conditions. Have a look at this; copy it in to your address bar: http://www.hmgpaint.com/knowledge-base/blistering-the-causes-and-prevention My father in law has a lotus europa, had it for 20+ years. He hasn't driven it for a few years and has other projects on the go, and so parked it up under his covered carport and put a breathable cover over it. Last year he asked me to have a look at the paint work and it suffered the same fate. I grow up spraying and panel beating because my dad had his own body repair garage, unfortunatley a full respray is the only cure, in an oven at the correct temperature and extraction. If you do decide to have a go yourself I would recommend a top feed gun, high volume compressor at 115psi + constant flow with built in water extractors and in line water filters. Bad luck buddy, hope you get something sorted.

Where did you paint it; if it is only on the top of the panels, sounds too me like dust or dry/overspray has settled on top of the panels. Did flat the the primer and base coat before coating with lacquer and did you 'tack' cloth the panels before spraying?

The Childhood Dream
Welcome to the club mate. Being in Her Majesty' s finest she has decided to Post me to Valley. So if you want a go in a TT, once I'm settled I'll bring her across from sunny Suffolk to windy Wales for you to compare. Good to have you on board mate, if you subscribed to the forum it will become a lot more useful to you.

Illuminated Interior Door Handles
Done this to my Zed. Nice little touch and is both practical and looks good. Nice cheap little mod. Agree with the above that it looks nice with the chrome handles. Nice work!

New style for our zeds maybe
Too much money, time and fibreglass on their hands and, nearly forgot to mention the left over scaffold poles. LMAO.

Woolwich killing
Very well put. It's far too easy to allow this minority bunch of extremists to represent all in the Muslim community. I along with a few others on this forum have spent a lot of time fighting in Afghanistan, and I must say along with some Muslims in the Forces; and they are as professional in their role and you wouldn't have known their beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, that's what the world has been built upon. The biggest shame for me is that the war has been brought to the streets of London in the most cowardly fashion. Rest in peace our brother in arms.

My latest SWB TT Z32 build
A real ambassador for the ZED and this forum matey, well done. This is the kind of alternative advertising the 300 needs. Show car's and motorsports. Love it.

ECU Identification
Out of interest, I can see that the codes are different between Auto and Manual but is there functional differences. Can you fit auto to manual for example?

Why this is the best forum on the web.
Oh for Cod sake, enough is enough!

Picked up another Z
White will be very nice, arctic/ice white is lovely on a ZED. You could get it all painted white and vinyl wrap between the Targa's in carbon or black. I personally think that this would look good and if you don't like it, remove it! Bingo, job done.

LMAO,so true. They just don't understand the importance of when you have a spare few quid in your pocket, the car springs to the front of your mind and taking the Mrs out for a slap up meal and drink slips to the back,ha ha. I'm so glad she doesn't use this forum, I would seriously be in the poo. Should of married my workshop and its contents!!! A lot less hassle.Lol.

Right peeps, here is one for the calendar. Been to this a few times and if the sun is out it can be a really good day out. 9th of June, Snetterton, Modified Live. Let me know your thoughts. Went with a few Zeds the other year, be good to see you again. We could look at displaying the car's if there is the interest. Cheers, Tony

Question for detailers - using mops
I have used the Silverline mop and it is fine. It's the mop head that's the key. As said above, ensure loads of water is used and get a quality mop head. I've been our of the panel beating trade for a few years now but I do know that 3M used to do a good mop head that lasted very well. Don't buy cheap and give it a thorough rinse in warm soapy water after to ensure that the polish and cut paint is removed to prevent swirling.
