  1. I just read through your list on your build tread and realised there are still more bits I need to order
  2. Right, So I'm back in the UK in a months time with a week dedicated to getting the 300 on the road, I haven't driven a zed for about 5 years and I've never actually driven this one, to say I'm excited about it is an understatement. ive spent a lot of time recently doing a lot of research on getting my car up to the high standards I want. One thing is becoming clear, the parts from these cars running out so I'm doing my best to buy all the bits I need to bring it up to tip top condition. Some parts are just too pricey so 99 spec headlights for me (I'm not a huge fan anyway) So far here is the list of what's going on - mostly new oem Outside Window and quarter window strips Windscreen trim Targa trim Rear roof trim Targa centre trim Windscreen upper trim Clear side repeaters Genuine 99 spec rear lights (my mint converted lights will be up for sale) Genuine 99 spec centre panel 99spec red nose New rear bumper Various new clips etc for front bumper Engine Zspec stainless cambelt cover bolts (oem spec with poly bushes) Zspec throttle plenum bolts new throttle spring washers Everything else is already new/ refurbed Interior New centre console New ashtray New lighter illumination ring New clips for bezel trim New carpeted tray(it's a swb) New rear carpet (custom made) New door handle surrounds I'm still after a few more bits to finish off the interior like a new oem gear knob and maybe some new window switches. Also still after some chrome interior handles if anyone has some I'll post up some box fresh pics as they arrive for all of you as ocd as me about these things
  3. I thought these were off the cam belt cover
  4. For me the main factor in value on this would be the condition of the underside/sills. If it's in good condition I don't think 4-5k would be too much. If it needs sills etc I would guess half that.
  5. I did mine myself, just bought loads of alcantara. did results can be good, you just have to be patient and work slowly.

I'm after some parts for the rear of my swb to finish things off. Does anybody have any spares or know anyone breaking one? The main parts I'm after are the 4 trim strips under the hatch plus the bumper retainers plus some trim bits
  7. Looks good, How does it drive? About the same height as I roughly set mine, not driven it yet though
  8. Si- just for your reference the wiring specialist harness is a good bit of kit there is one thing to note though. It comes fitted with multiple connectors for some of the sensors eg cas, air con and I think 1 more. These either look ugly or you can cut them off and tape up the loom. I did the latter including a load of other connections for the aivs egr and prcv as I did a wiring tuck at the same time. End results are great now though as there are almost no visible wires and the sub loom for the injectors is a great idea. As mentioned above, the loom comes fitted for a later spec cas and the older style. If you can get hold of one they are a little neater and the connector is better, I was not able to get one in time but I know you have contacts in the U.S. Just some food for thought
  9. I agree, on both accounts. shoddy workmanship should be highlighted just as much as people who truly take pride.
  10. Hi all I have a series 2 ptu for sale with loom I purchased this for my car but I replaced my loom with a wiring specialist loom which is pre wired for a series 2 So I purchased an additional series 2 which had no loom and thought I would sell on the original set. I have tested this on my car and it works as it should. I am after what I paid for it £80 delivered which seems to be the going rate. These usually don't hang around for long so grab it while you can
  11. Hi all I have a set of 4 Khan rsr alloys with tyres They are a simple 5 spoke design that really suits the 300 I bought these with the intention of refurbing them but I now have a set of nismos so they have to go. They have tyres on them but the fronts are nearly down to the limit and the rears have wear on the inside edge. There is also some curbing on them so a refurb would be recommended. Or just shove them on and use as a cheap set of 18's They are a good fitment for a 300 18 x 8.5 et 35 front 18 x 9.5 et 45 rear These will fit standard arches but are still quite a good fit. For those wanting an aggressive stance, spacers will be required. Here are a few pics on my car while rebuilding Sorry don't have any others but I can try to get some more I'm after 250 collected from Evesham in the Midlands
  12. My personal opinion would be that if your valves really need replacing then a good set of used low mileage heads would be the best way to go if you have no huge future power goals. In reality I'm sure that all that really needs doing would be a new set of valve guides and the seats re cutting. A 5 angle valve job would give more benefits than bigger valves and should cost less. If the valves are worn enough to need replacing surly other things such as the cams, followers and cam bearings will also be past their best, hence my suggestion just to pick up some used heads. Are you using a zed specialist?
  13. If you read through this bit of my build thread it might give you some ideas http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?143092-update-on-my-swb-restoration/page12
  14. Not the best picture but my rear tyres are almost perfect, the fronts far from it. They are a 275/30 19 fitted on a 9.5j lmgt4 I would guess you would be very similar with the 285 on a 10j. For reference the tyres are kumho (not my choice)
  15. I'm after something stock or stock looking. Must be in mint condition
  16. Great wheels mate, they were on my list too but I couldn't find a good set. What offset are they? I'm actually a little surprised you chose a 19" I had always assumed you had upgraded during your "time off" Out of interest do you know any good places/sites for parts in Japan, I travel to Tokyo a few times a year
  17. The recaros look stunning mate. I was undecided if I should go for a leather re trim on the bolsters for mine. Think I have made my mind up now
  18. I have a small ultrasonic cleaning bath that works great for this sort of thing. If it's stainless I would clean it up with a wire wheel in a drill Another product I use is fairy power spray ( basically oven cleaner) it is designed to remove burnt on carbon
  19. Don't think there is a gasket there mate
  20. Sounds amazing, I've always been tempted to do this swap
  21. When it's not starting just pull the maf plug mate and see it that changes anything
  22. Top quality work going on here. You must have spent a fortune on an- fittings
  23. Don't worry about the ocd mate, quite a few of us have it  Ps looking good
