Changed my front brake pads yesterday and now my Z idle is very high. I did clean around the bottom if the engine and remember hitting the wire in the picture below. It had tape wrapped around it so removed it and there is one yellow wire. What is this for?

My spoiler was damaged and I have removed the spoiler only to find there is a large open slot, I have seen the cars without spoilers and imagined it would just be metal when the spoiler was removed. I was shocked to find this opening. I am not sure what to do now, wondered if anyone can help. Thanks

Hi all, 1990 UK TT here. I'm aware these beasts have their headlight gremlins, but I think this may be a unique case. I'm borderline just rewiring all the lights myself and having manual switches cut into the dash. The headlights have never worked right since I got the car, and I've cleaned connections up by the headlights themselves. So this is what happens when I change the lights settings (might need to click 'download image' after clicking the link to make it appear right): Are the fuses in the engine bay labeled as LH = LH of engine bay, or LH = nearside/passenger side? Also the fog light relay has been removed. The RH headlight fuse looks f…

Okay, so I understand the furore around Turbo Timers, however, I am looking for the instructions to use (not install), the Blitz FATT Turbo Timer, Ive searched and searched and cannot find the correct manual, If you can help, please post up, or drop me an email using sayersn@outlook.com, The manual must be for the FATT model only, not the FATT DC, Advance, or other variant. Thanks Sayers

The days of the petrol engine are closing faster than ever. Our time is not up just yet, but things are changing quickly. Has anyone any thoughts on the suitability of a 300ZX (shell) as the basis for turning into a well performing EV. Technology is moving so fast and it would be great to see some classic cars that would otherwise go to scrap born again into EV's with performance to match. I know that some really old classics have been changed over to electric and there are companies like electric classic cars but I dont think these are that useable every day. I am keen to explore if a Z could be turned into a practical everyday EV or a Lithium battery powered monster. Th…

The video below is a heart breaker to any petrol head, why the government thought this was a good idea is anyones guess, but years after the scrappage scheme ended now the storage costs of the cars must of out weighed the benefit to the new car sales. and yes some 300zx in there too !!

I think there’s a bug going around regarding enthusiasm and the Z’s. I’ve been push and pushing to get my project off the ground and collecting spares as and when I can but right now I have no motivation to get in with it or make the time for it. Whether it’s because I’m getting overworked and exhausted at work due to staff shortages and too much to do. Joys of being an engineer I guess. I’m torn between stepping away from the car for a few months and then going back to it to see if I can reignite the passion. Or completely selling everything I have. Which I am sure will make a few of you rather happy given what I’ve collected in the last year or so. …

I'm sure we've all been through it, I have in the past, but only vaguely. Despite spending a fortune on my Z and putting many hours into making it as good as I can, I've been slowly falling out of love with it. I mean I do still love the Z32 as a car, I still think it's an awesome machine from a really interesting era of automotive development, but feel the passion of ownership slowly ebbing away and there's seemingly nothing that I can do to reinvigorate that. I've always said I'd never sell it, but the more time slips away, the more I am contemplating it. I've been toying with the idea of an Aston Martin V8 Vantage or something completely at the other end of the sp…

A number of you have asked for a photo showing the result of using Frost's Ali Clean - Aluminium Castings Cleaner. The product is great at cleaning aluminium castings such as plenums and I've used it on a number of occasions with excellent results. https://www.frost.co.uk/frost-ali-clean-alloy-aluminium-castings-cleaner.html
