i know this is a common thread so i apologize, my new zed runs rich and im trying to work out why, she has a good idle and no black smoke, however she smells of fuel and the exhausts sooty. i know obvious ones like boost/ vacuum leak but the id say the gauge reads about right. she ran low on fuel the other day but she was running rich before that, not sure what else to try, she's going to zedworld for a cambelt/ service at the end of the month, just wondering if anyones got any suggestions until then?

I've been following this build on Driftworks for a while now, and spotted it a few months back in either Banzai or JP magazine. Sadly the guy is selling it and moving on so might be a nice new project for somebody to take on. A very, very rare SWB Z31....if I had the time and space I wouldn't mind taking this on myself...but not gonna' happen I'm afraid. To be fair, it looks a lot tidier than a few Z32's I've seen recently http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-cars-sale-private-sales/146238-88-z31-300zx-turbo-swb-2-seater-supa-dupa-rare.html

Unfortunately I've been bogged down with work and as such been both idle and anti-social when it comes to getting some pictures up of what feels like my new baby :) . I've only had it a week and got a list as long as my arm of project's I want to do so I figure the best way to make up for it and keep track is by starting a journal. This will also be backed up with a few extra pictures on Flikr for anyone interested: So to kick things off I'll start with a few pictures from the day she came to me: Following this the first thing I decided to do after much debate was remove the canards and wing, however looking at the pics no…

Saw this in Widnes around 5:00 o'clock tonight, was having a look when the owner returned to his car. He isn't a member of the forum as yet, but I left him a club card, his name is Chris, and he is from St. Helens Merseyside. Nice black TT auto UK spec.

I've got a few HKS gauges to get fitted and plumbed in, but not sure exactly where/how to get the senders located. First one is an oil temp gauge, I know they usually fit into a sandwich plate above the oil filter, but this one has a small bit of pipe and a clamp so must have been clamped onto somewhere?! Other one is an exhaust temp gauge, how am I supposed to put this into an exhaust? do I need to get something welded in place, then the nut on the sender screws onto it clamping in place? Thanks for any help, btw they came off a Z :thumbup1:

Well given up with official software after it kept moaning that the cable wasn't plugged in so switched to the trial software, (yes it's a conzults reader/cable it's got it stamped on the big Gray box thing down buy the connector) anyway the trial gave me a fault codes and monitoring and not much else. Car is a Uk spec TT, suffering a smoking issue similar to what artztogo's is like, smokes from idle, and when you put your foot down a bit, but then clears when crusing, only to smoke again once idle, and the gear box only uses 2nd gear and reverse. And flagged up codes 34 for the det sensor And code 54 for communication to auto transmission gear box faul…

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=23616 One of the things we like more than anything else on a good Shed of the Week candidate is a decent, well-written advert. It shows that the sender cares enough about their motor to give it a proper sell, and generally (we reckon) that they're an honest enough sort. We also reckon somebody punctilious enough to bother about a spot of speeling, punctuation and grammar (as well as a well-crafted ad) is also more likely to be the type to bother about a spot of regular servicing, care and general maintenance for their motor. We have no hard data to back this theory up, of course, but shedding is all about …
