I've managed to get myself really confused about the dust plates for my gearbox conversion:bored: I've got two halves that came off with my auto and a full one (with the gasket running in a U shape) and I also have a full one that came with my manual box, which is identical to the one off the autobox. It looks like the two halves go on the engine then the full plate goes over that and then the flywheel? Is this right?

i'm thinking temp sensor but correct me if you think otherwise, on cold start i'm getting a tickover of between 1500-2000rpm only problem is when the cars upto temp its still ticksover between 1000-1500rpm with a good blip of the throttle it will sometimes drop to 800ish where it should be but if i drive a short distance tickover is then back at 1000-1500rpm i'm thinking as i said coolnt temp sensor maybe? (tickover is normal if i disconnect it) but open to suggestions

Had to take the plenum off to change another injector so decided to remove 5 more bits from my plenum. I wanted it to look even cleaner than it was before. You have to look close to spot the changes but the overall look is now very uncomplicated and draws your attention to the purpose of that celebrated Nissan designed plenum (this had good press when it was launched). Just putting the whole lot back together now!!! Am I the only one who likes a bit of cleavage!!!! :ninja:

Looks like the next couple of months may be a bit tough. I work for my mates electrical & mechanical company and we did loads of work for a large perfume manufacturer who went into liquidation owing us just over £20k, which is a big knock for a 2 man company :cursing: We've been riding it out but as a result I've been told from start of june my hours will be halved so obviously my wages will be too, and I didnt get that much to start with as I'm still training... lol We're off on holiday in june which was planned a while ago, but also in june the Z will need taxing, MOTing and insuring! :scared: I'm not one of these who gives up at the first hurdle and …

who sells the polished intake/boost hoses these days ? Im after a set with black couplers, but can only find them on Z1 for $200 + shipping + duty. Is that my only option these days ? Im sure there used to be more available. - Smithy/DTA used to sell them, no more. - Ebay ones are still around but they are blue only. - CZP sell them, but blue only. - AMZ only sell the overpriced HKS set in blue.

Handbrake adjustment tech. Had the opportunity to take some pics to explain how to correctly set the handbrake and why it often does not work well even when adjusted ok. Ok so first off the particular zed in the pics was having new discs and pads + painted calipers so but I am in the main dealing with the handbrake. There is “cable” adjustment underneath the handbrake via a 10 mm nut, adjusting this will if any adjustment left only take out cable stretch and can be disappointing that although the lever will be well adjusted the handbrake will still not hold well. The real issue is inside the rear discs where the handbrake shoes reside, accessing these…

i know this is a common thread so i apologize, my new zed runs rich and im trying to work out why, she has a good idle and no black smoke, however she smells of fuel and the exhausts sooty. i know obvious ones like boost/ vacuum leak but the id say the gauge reads about right. she ran low on fuel the other day but she was running rich before that, not sure what else to try, she's going to zedworld for a cambelt/ service at the end of the month, just wondering if anyones got any suggestions until then?

I've been following this build on Driftworks for a while now, and spotted it a few months back in either Banzai or JP magazine. Sadly the guy is selling it and moving on so might be a nice new project for somebody to take on. A very, very rare SWB Z31....if I had the time and space I wouldn't mind taking this on myself...but not gonna' happen I'm afraid. To be fair, it looks a lot tidier than a few Z32's I've seen recently http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-cars-sale-private-sales/146238-88-z31-300zx-turbo-swb-2-seater-supa-dupa-rare.html
