Well given up with official software after it kept moaning that the cable wasn't plugged in so switched to the trial software, (yes it's a conzults reader/cable it's got it stamped on the big Gray box thing down buy the connector) anyway the trial gave me a fault codes and monitoring and not much else. Car is a Uk spec TT, suffering a smoking issue similar to what artztogo's is like, smokes from idle, and when you put your foot down a bit, but then clears when crusing, only to smoke again once idle, and the gear box only uses 2nd gear and reverse. And flagged up codes 34 for the det sensor And code 54 for communication to auto transmission gear box faul…

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=23616 One of the things we like more than anything else on a good Shed of the Week candidate is a decent, well-written advert. It shows that the sender cares enough about their motor to give it a proper sell, and generally (we reckon) that they're an honest enough sort. We also reckon somebody punctilious enough to bother about a spot of speeling, punctuation and grammar (as well as a well-crafted ad) is also more likely to be the type to bother about a spot of regular servicing, care and general maintenance for their motor. We have no hard data to back this theory up, of course, but shedding is all about …

Well im on my way to do a auto box swap on Saturday, and was just wondering why the auto fails so much? and why its a waist of time getting it sorted out (im on about professionally and not by some cowboy who says they can do a gearbox rebuild but only changes the fooked part and it ends up going again a few months later down the line) What im interested in is, does anyone have a walk through, or is there a walk through of a auto strip and rebuild to do with what parts do what inside? Its about the only item i haven't taken apart to have a nose inside off. Seems to be a few posts scattered around and all of them, when the gear box goes in varying degrees,…

Hi i seem to have a brake fluid leak in my system but i have good brakes and no signs of any leaks on the pipes etc so im guessing i have a leaky piston. As the rears have been re conditioned by previous owner im guessing it will be the fronts? If so is this the correct kit i need? Or can you recommend a company tryed and tested by you guys? Also whats the best paint to use (red) and also where to get it from? So I take my car to the RR today and it's running super sweet. did give it a bit of of welly when I got closer to home, but don't think that something suddenly broke? There is a sound of what appears to be a boost leak coming from the gap between the engine and the cabin. but couldn't find any obvious disconnected or perished hose. Problem: Basically sounds/feels like it's got a subtle misfire. Instead of running smoothly, sounds more like a rumbling sound.. all through boost/acceleration. tbh the electrics/wiring is probably the weakest link in my car :( I Did a basic check on coil packs and connectors and nothing looks untoward. I'm going to…

So following on from yesterday and todays drama make sure you check out the taster pic at the bottom of the page http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=150466 and also the destruction at the bottom of page one http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=147057 Now just a taster as the newly flocked interior has arrived today from Ade, it's difficult to resist ripping open all the boxes as I need to keep the safe until tomorrow but you get the idea. Along with the seats to fit So IF the leak is just a hose Cinders should make the ball on Saturday, fingers crossed. All I can say it's going to be one hell of a busy day tomorro…

Was on the way home from taking my dad to hospital and just randomly lost the clutch! There have been no slipping issues with it at all up until now. When I got home I checked the booster reservoir and there is no fluid in it all and I can hear a distinct dripping of something onto the warm exhaust. Are there any common pipes or seals that go on the zed as I'm hoping that it may just be the case and not the fact that I need a new clutch :/ I will get out and get it up for a look when the weather clears up a bit as it terrential here just now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi Guys, Typical just my luck. I got the car delivered. When they delivered the car, Fuel light on. - Great. I put some petrol in it £20 quids worth to get me to a garage. On route I picked up the wife. Now it drove OKfor a while say 2 miles. I turned it off. and it stalls. Also I get at the start on the dash, POWER LIGHT flickers but goes out. So guys, any advice. I have contacted the dealer. He has said there was nothing wrong with it and he will get it sorted but he thinks its dirt as run low on petrol. He suggested fuel cleaner...? Over to the experts - engine sounds and pulls great when it goes. - The revs at present just drop causing it to st…

Called the garage this morning and the top coat they put on last night has reacted and cracked  so they have to start again. This means it won't be finished this morning or the wheels done this afternoon along with the water leak as planned. So bottom line is they finish the body today and wheels tomorrow but means I have tomorrow to refit the WHOLE interior and I mean every panel that had tweed on it and the seats, fit stereo, hoses, dump valves, strut brace, scuttle panels and fix the water leak assuming it's only a hose issue and nothing more serious? Not looking good for Saturday as I don't think I have enough time , so annoying I can't start unti…

An old friend of mine runs a local engineering shop, last year he bought a CNC machine and he's at the stage now where he can start looking around and trying to fill gaps in the market. Is there anything for our cars especially or any other vehicles that you'd like to see or you think would be good sellers, or anything thats usually only available in the states with no UK supplier? I've already mentioned PCD adapters and brake adapter kits allowing the fitment of bigger discs and they are no problem. Thinking caps on please guyZ

Well a car appeared on ebay a couple of weeks ago that I recognised... Its been parked down the road from my house ever since I moved in and it hasn't moved, not seen the owner or oat lol.. if you've been to my house believe me, you would have swerved around it as it was in the way lol. I always thought it was ugly but thought there was something about it, my mate and I often said it would be good with my spare TT engine in! Anyway someone keyed it down one side about 3 weeks ago, a week later it was gone and now its on ebay! turns out its a 3 litre single turbo, would make for an awesome transplant into a Z with its all alloy engine, all it needs is a big …
