Hi I have installed the Z1 hicas bar and removed the hicas + tubes to the back. But I was wondering if the hicas light was supposed to light up when the job was done. Do I have to remove the bulb?

Its something that bugged me for a while, I've driven past loads of 350z's when I've been out in my 300zx, they dont flash, wave, nod or even acknowledge as I'd expect them to. Do they not understand the heritage and previous history to how their car came about? :2guns:

As per title. I'm in the process now of pulling the engine from the shell and stripping the block down. Assuming that all the work and forged components that Ztech were paid for, are good and present What's the going rate for a block rebuild? cheers

Not got money for more power right now (well I do, but I'm trying to save a little) so wanting to tighten the car up a little and lighten her. I know how heavy the stock seating arrangement is up front (after struggling to get the driver seat in the car), so have a dry carbon bucket seat from a ferrari waiting to go in her :tt1: which weighs the grand sum of nothing. To go with the theme I plan on ripping as much out the car as I can, sound deadening, carpets, door panels absolutely everything. How far can I go with interior gadgets and wiretucking? I know theres a silver Z on here which looks like it's really sorted on the stripped-out front, how far is the strip job on …

Hi, I've tinted the rear lights on many cars in my life. I remember the first couple of times I ended up with a fairly glossy finish. The last couple of cars I did (more memorable was my Probe) I ended up with a very dull flat matt finish. Now maybe tint spray has changed over the years, maybe I've used a cheaper brand or something. Not sure. I want to do my Zed (just smoked not totally black) but I want a glossy finish. Any ideas or suggestions how I ensure I end up with a glossy result? The matt or glossy finish seems to be random. I seem to remember applying clear lacquer in the past, but seem to remember it reacting with the tint. …

Apart from the front of the prop shaft and the torque converter (as the splines are different sizes) can it be done? My main concern would be vibration from the prop with having to join a N/A rear to the TT front.

Well after nearly making it home from D2 to have a check on how my cars doing we were soon heading back, but this time on the back of low loader :( After a bang and a load of smoke we pulled over on the A13 to find oil everywhere, including the guy behinds windscreen :whistling: After returning to D2 a little look underneath revealed that a certain con-rod has made a voilent bid for freedom! Another engine it is!

Evening all, I could do with some help to find out where this particular pipe should go, at the moment it is dangling! http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff514/300zx_tt/IMAG0190x.jpg Pic taken from the drivers side wing,I put an arrow on the hose that isn't connected to anything, I had a look around and it isn't apparent where it might go. It is losing some sort of fluid though. It is connected to a block which has a few other hoses connected to it - but I don't know what the block is for. Car is an auto tt. Thanks in advance!

I've just spent most of the day patching a large hole in my fuel tank filler pipe using Quick Steel. I then got rid of all the rust that I could, then I coated the thing in 3 coats of Hammerite. The place where the guard was meant to attach to has disintegrated, so I haven't been able to put that back on. When I pulled the guard off there was half a field of soil behind it for some reason. I suppose a good job done, but I can think of more fun things to do on a Saturday!

Hi everyone, Not really posted anything of my zed yet so before the long slog of work begins i thought i'd take some pics so when u all get a chance to see her you can see how far she's come. Low milage but a bit tatty when i bought her, cheap enought to take on though. So far timing belt 100k kit, upgraded the ptu, ironed out a little list of fault codes, replaced missing trim, replaced some pannels and sprayed roof, brakes too. MOT monday, i'm sure there will b something else they tell me about but hopefully not much, they also replacing the centre bearing and exhaust for me befor i tackle the rest. I'll update with more photos as i go but i want this…

As per a previous post I thought the new Z was a little slow but the boost gauge doesn't work and sits at -14 all the time. Fitted an aftermarket gauge this weekend and took it for a spin. The gauge only reads 0.4 bar so not full boost. I've had the car on conzult a few weeks ago and there were no error codes, are we talking a boost leak here? On a plus note fitted the stereo so at least I have some tunes in the car :walkman:
