Hi all, Had car off road for the winter. Just started her up today, which she did on the first key turn. However she's a missing!! Checked with Datascan, had no fault codes but found that no. 2 cylinder is not firing. I had a quick prod around but before I get going on it tomorrow i though i'd check for a few pointers where to look 1st. There were no problems before winter break. Still got series 1 PTU but would that show as a fault code? Thank Nick

... I have no idea what these are called, but basically the gasket type thing that goes between the top of the suspension strut and the suspension mount? I have a second hand set of Teins ready to go on the car (Nearly, need to wait for the anti-rust stuff to dry and then a couple of coats of paint to go on) and I need these I think to do it properly.

Hi I need a set of standard alloys refurbished and have heard that the two main techniques used are either paint or powder coating. Does anyone have any advice as to which is the preferred approach? Lepsons - http://www.lepsons.com - in Swindon is pretty close to me - has anyone any experience to share? Cheers Paul

Hi. I fitted a replacement S2 climate control ECU and display pod today, but when I press the button to direct the air up to the windscreen, the Auto button lights up too. This doesn't seem normal to me. Also, I can't seem to vary the blower speed - the display doesn't change either. If someone could explain how the S2 system should work I'd be grateful. Cheers, Dave

after changing my belts for new ones, i have come to realise its the water pump bearing that makes a slight squeeling sound in the zed, its not loud just that i can hear it on tick over and its annoying, a slight squirt of oil will cure it for a few days maybe but it always comes back, is there a way to get rid of the sound? :taz:

Had the MOT today and despite failing, quite pleased overall. It failed on the front brakes being "unbalanced", whatever that means. It's going in next week for an investigation, but to ensure that I'm not ripped off, what could the nature of the problem be? Sticking caliper, worn pads? Any advice most welcome.

few questions relating to my imment lowering of the car, i purchased some lowered and stiffer bilstiens from a club memeber which i will be fitting. firstly with a lwb and a 20mm rear drop and around 30mm on the front whats likly to hit speedbumps? exhaust midsection looks to be the lowest part. obviously the underside of the engine should be pretty safe. secondly. there are some metal plates that sit on top the struts do these sit ontop the strut or ontop the arch? furthermore to this point if i decided the front was a touch too low could a thicker one be used to space it out a little. thirdly.is there a way to switch the shocks without compltly resett…

Spent months welding and grinding rust of my zed, only removed side skirts to put back to standard look, never realizing what lied beneath. manged to find a guy who supplied most of new panels to repair.arches iner sills outer sills and rebuilt sub frame that was rotted. I found that the steel pip running from the roof gutters was blocked through rust and this coursed most of the on the inner sills and sub frame,so after the rebuild i replaced both pipes with stainless steel onces so they want rust again.

I`m just wandering if anyones had Evo Brembos fitted usung 295mm discs? the reason I ask is that I have had my Brembos and 324mm discs fitted today and whilst talking to my mechanic he reckons the 295mm discs would be too small?? So off i went back to my house and got a 295mm disc and gave it to the mechanic, we found the edges of the pads would only be touching about 3/4 of the disc? and the rest of the pad was in thin air? Obviously we have used the relocation brackets, so I`m just wandering what set up is needed for the 295mm discs Daz :flowers:
