Well, i have to say i'm falling out of love at the moment... She's running a bit strangly at the moment, let me try and explain what's happening: First: The other day i was driving home, booted it a bit on a straight, then went back to normal driving. She started to shudder a bit and felt like she was misfiring, then cut out. I pulled over, started her up and she fired up first time so drove back home, every now and then she felt like the power was retarded, and i had to rev the engine a bit as it felt as if it would cut out again. I swapped out the oil and it was dirty black and replaced with fully synthetic 5w40. I started her up again today to see…

As some of you may know Steve had a tough time getting his car sorted previously but has stayed firm and seen it through a strip down and repaint, add a wide body kit and a soon to arrive set of monster wheels and some tasty mechanical bits ( nudge, nudge) this zed is going to look top dollar, all praise to Steve for seeing it through many would have given up long ago. Shame the camera would just not show the metalic and pearl flake in paint it comes alive when the sun hits it! Jeff TT The blend the bodyshop done on the kit is flawless

couple of weeks/months ago i was having some problems with my idle and with the car stuttering at low speeds. after a trip to zedworld Jeff sorted it right out stating that my throttle was misaligned so one bank was getting more fuel than the other. well couple of weeks later the same problem seems to have returned, the revs are all over the place at idle and it is starting to stutter occasionally again. so i decided to take some photo's, not sure if this is what they looked like after the trip to zedworld or if they've somehow adjusted themselves again. but how the hell do i know what they should be and how to adjust it. chears Steve

When I've finally finished and got it back on the road, my car seriously wants to be kick ass! Just to do simples stuff like replace the sills and the cam belt and thermostat etc. at a discount from Nissan prices as well, through MJP, over £800 squiddlies! Not to mention the £300 I already spent in the last 5 days on second hand parts, and the £550 I spent at the start of the month on second hand parts, all from buyers on here. GRRRRRRR, the car had SERIOUSLY better pass it's MOT in the next couple of weeks and be fecking kick ass! It'll look like a patchwork quilt, but it better not dare throw any more fits and problems my way, or it'll be on the scrap heap you go! …

Had the decats I bought off Big_Jim fitted yesterday and the mechanic said there were smaller pipes on the catted pipes he took off but none on the decats. I assume they're to vent the recirc' valves. Do I need to do anything with them or is it ok to let them vent to atmosphere?

Well when I bought my car, I bought it on Ebay. The car was in Milton Keynes, I was in Doncaster, the price was right and I didn't have time to go look before bidding. Allegedly the car had just had a 70K engine fitted (This could still be true, I know the engine was replaced for several reasons, one of which was I could see his old bottom end sat outside his garage), it also allegedly had uprated turbos in it, which we've now found out to be false, it has Automatic turbos in. Mikey squeezed his head up into the engine bay from underneath today and read the numbers on the turbos, so not impressed there, that also explains why I have what appears to be an automatic oil dip…

I'm trying to send this to Paul, but he is no longer able to receive PMs. Hi Paul. I know it's a while ago now, but I've only just got round to fitting the Series 2 Pod and aircon ECU, which I bought from you. The pod is obviously an S2, but the ECU is definitely an S1 because it does strange things when attached to an S2 pod, but works fine on the S1 pod. I just wondered if you still have an S2 ECU around anywhere or know of someone who does? Thanks, Dave

Wheel spacers are used with no issues for many reasons, from allowing non model designated wheels to be fitted to just making the wheel track look nicer. Of these the hub centric spacers is the most expensive and the most well considered one's as they reinstated the hub connection rather than relying on the wheel nuts to centre the wheel on the hub. However not all spacers and wheels are compatible and this must be checked thoroughly, a case in point is shown in the pictures below. The spacers were fitted to the front wheels only as they offset needed to be altered to ensure the wheel spoke missed the calipers. At this stage I am not sure if they were supp…

This should be a no brainer really, Nissan oem all the way for something so important to the running of the engine. You can buy blueprint or Gates, but for peace of mind i would use OEM. The reason for this little mention or warning, i went over to a fellow zedders house to fit a new timing belt, but he bought this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-3-0-TWIN-TURBO-90-94-ENGINE-TIMING-BELT-/160508157955?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item255f082003 It looked like had had been fitted to a car before with the way it kinked in the areas where the tensioners are when you held it up and it was described as brand new. The other main flaw for me and…

Well this is my feeble attempt at painting some parts for myself, just to trim them up a bit nicer and try to stem some rust. First the discs I bought from Liam months ago and still haven't fitted to the car, that is being rectified atm though with the suspension being fitted etc. Then the suspension that Mikey (As in Shrek Mikey) sent me the other week, now finally going to be fitted to the car. These are Tein Type HR coilovers, which I've read are pretty good, if a little old. Eventually I'll replace these with some brand new ones, but I needed to get the crappy ****ed up ones off my car quick. Then finally, the rears of the same set, which ar…

The Lightsd waning light came on in my car, checked the bulbs, looked OK, so to be sure I swapped them out but nothing from all 4 lights (rear lights come on OK). Searched the forum and the little black box that checks for bulb failure may be the problem, but have a couple of questions: a) I have an LED eye level brake light on my spoiler, some of the LEDs have blown but 5-6 still come on when the brake pedel is pressed. If the box has failed would these not work as well? b) Were is this box, on the drivers side ? and can I get to it from the inspection panel at the back of the lights or do I have to take the boot trim off ? c) If it is this box, does…
