went to relocate my sidelights this evening. into the curb light section of the new crystal indicators, trouble is, i didnt find what i expected to with the fog light. so can i litteraly cut the two wires feedibng the side light off the fog lamp assembly and wire them up to a bulb holder, or does the fog light require more than the one wire going to it? assuming i can do it that way do the indicator bulb holders from the side repeaters fit in the hole, looks like it should? and does anyone have a pair with pigtails, they would like to donate. obvioulsy id pay the postage, i dont even need the actual lamp holder just the connetor block from the loom.

ive got a bit of an annoying squeek on the front drivers side when going over bumps . this used to happen on my old shocks and is still there on the new shocks so im thinking its probably a bush thats the culprit .ive had a good look all around and everything appears to be fine and play free . im thinking about lubing the bushes but just checking with you guys first . any likely places that could be causing the squeek . it sounds like the wheel rubs momentarily on a bump but its not catching at all . any ideas

Right folks, I've started a new journal to break down the stages of doing an air-con conversion from the series 4 manual type to the series 2 digital type. In decoding the audio wiring on the Series 6, I discovered (thanks Nigel) that the later cars (perhaps from '95 or 96 onward) used the Nissan Micra connectors for the audio. (Wiring diags based on Daves_Zed's original are here.) But we also found that the wire which should be delivering 12v continuous from the battery to the stereo, isn't. So my job for next weekend is to try to get that fixed. Do any of you kind people know where this wire should run so I can trace it? I think it should be the wire that is connected to the AUDIO 2 fuse. Is there anything else which is normally connected to this feed and have any of you had a problem with it? Oh, and how do…

Seems so long ago when i started it but it,s just about done , needs a few little jobs finishing but today i took it for a blast down a industrial area to start setting up the boost controller , Me old mate Mantav8 came round to help set it up . I,d got all new trims from Luke at the Z Centre and he did say the targa,s are a real P.I.N.T.A to strip down to fit the new trims so i sussed out an easier way. Remove the inner trim and the old outer trim which will leave it,s clips behind as they,re screwed from behind , i put a few bits of masking tape inside adjacent to where the clips sit , using a large pair of mole grips or something similer , put a drop of paint on one end , now position the other end on the remains of the clip , pull the molegrips closed until you get a paint mark on the inside of the trim , this is now right over the head of the screw . I used a Forstener bit as it drills a flat hole but an…

OK, Putting the finishing touches to my Zed and noticed a light alarm on the dash, Turned out to be a brake light bulb. Now here comes the Silly Question,:whistling: Should the brake lights work even without the key in the ignition?:wacko: Mine do, and that strikes me as a little odd, or is that normal ?.:blushing:

Just cleaning up the replacement rail that has my Nismo injectors in it, when I removed the covers over the top of the injectors 4 had an extra metal shim/washer (see below) and 2 had the black plastic that seats into the cap. I haven't used these before but I have been told that they have been flow tested but I don't want to put them in after the plenum pull and then find out they might not work. :no: I suppose the obvious thing to do would be to use the injector caps that are currently working fine with my standard injectors, but I'm curious now as to what these little bu$$ers do? :lol:

.... the harness plug is to connect up a turbo timer? Supposedly, under the steering wheel there is one particular harness plug that connects up to the extended wiring harness that came with the turbo timer. I've disconnected all 4 of the ones which plug into blanking sockets on bolts, but none of them fit!?!?!? Is there a difference in those sockets between versions of the car? i.e. S1, S2 etc? Please HELP ME!?!?!? :scooter:

Well over last few months the performance of my car has steadily deteriorated, nothing you could really point your finger at, not until last week when it turned into a full blown misfire, so I checked the coil pack connections, coil packs and spark plugs but nothing came of this, so I moved on to the injectors, removed the first plug to find it full of the green corrosion that has been mentioned in other threads regarding misfire problems, the other five plugs where as bad and also very brittle, so I am now waiting for new injector looms to arrive from the USA to see if cures the problem. Would it be of any benefit to use some sort of contact grease to stop this happening…

Right, I took this photo after doing about 50 miles in the Zed (letting it cool down first obviously). The radiator took about a pint of water, there is no obvious water leak but this is a regular occurrence. There is water in the radiator expansion bottle and the hose from radiator to said bottle is not blocked or kinked. I was thinking of putting some radflush through the system....what do you think? My new Z has a rather strange knock coming from the engine which is fairly random. The noise has been apparent ever since the previous owner bought the car, and it hasn't got any worse probably in 8000 miles. The car went into Zedworld and Jamie listened to it and agreed it was bottom end and suggested it would only last 1000 miles but that was over 2 years ago! The knock is no worse now than it was 2 years ago and the knock goes away as soon as I start putting my foot down. The knock is more noticeable at low speed then goes away at faster speed. If the car is idling at a standstill you can bring the revs up slightly then the noise will start but then seem…

still got my wife nipping my ear to sell the recaros and put in a set of standard seats. i want to retrim the recaros in black leather with orange stitching she wants me to do that to a standard set what do you think? how much are the recaro seats actually worth?

as some of you may know im doing a complete nut and bolt restoration on my swb. im currently doing the floorpan so soonish ill be rebuilding the rear subframe. ill be going to quite an effort to make sure the subframe etc will be totally rust proofed and better finished than when it left the factory. At the moment i have the rear subframe from my swb and the one off my breaker, both are tt. ive got a hicas delete bar but im not sure if i want a n/a subframe instead. obviously i dont want to restore a tt one only to decide to go N/A. ok then guys what would you advise as far as i can see it the N/a will give me a lower gearing (better acceleration), is …

only the first time this year i took the mighty 300 to work i hate my job been doing it almost 18 years but that drive in with 300 was amazing pulling into the multi storey noise made everyone look plus i enjoy all the stuck up gits doctors and nurses looking at it and thinking whats that how on earth can he afford that plus enjoy going sideways when i finish and watching them shit them selves lol

walking down the seafront last night in Blackpool and heard this purring turned around and there was this gorgeous red convertible at the lights. Had almost the same numberplate "OKZ" as my car on it If someone on here well done mate top quality :flowers::flowers:

Saw something I couldn't refuse so had to buy it... a Black UK 300zx Twin Turbo! :ph34r: Its got loads of mods done already and is very tidy, so much more so that my NA. Its not all gravy though.. the engine is noisy but I have the TT lump I was going to put in the NA which will be fitted. It is seriously quick compared with my old TT and I'm well happy with it, theres a few things I will be changing wth regards to the looks but it'll soon be there. The engine has a bottom end noise that hasn't got any worse in the last 7000 miles and happens fairly randomly then goes away, but I'll be replacing it, and at the same time it'll have uprated intercoolers…

After 3 weeks of MOT work,:hammer: I finally got her back on 4 wheels.:clap: Problem now is, when I turn the ignition on, I do not get that familiar pre start fuel pump sound, the one that I believe pre pressurises the fuel line before start up.:taz: I did have the tank out as well as the rear sub frame etc. would this be normal after the fuel line being disconnected or do I have a more serious problem? I was bleeding the clutch from the bottom and had fulid comming out into a glass jar i was just then getting a peddal that feels like it was going well then it went a little hard then all of a sudden the peddel has gone and whats more i cant get the resisdence back and there seems to now be a noty feel to the pedal at the bottom . What have i done/ broke? :cursing:
