This month's edition of Modern Classics has a big feature on their top 40 1990s cars..... And guess what big Japanese coupe is on the list - yup the 300zx Z32. No Supra (well, they did specify under £15k) and no 3000gt/gto…. And then in the back pages, in readers drives, was a two-thirds of a page article on Elly's fine blue Zed.... Nice to see the Z32 feature again - anything to raise the car's profile....

Can anyone help me with a close photo of the following stickers/labels? - T-Top warning label near the handle - T-Top bag label - Turbo caution label that was supplied with the car. This label was hanging on the rear view mirror - Oem Battery warning label - 14805-37P00 LABEL-EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION.I have no idea what this label is,all I know is that it must be somewhere on the hood/bonnet. I am trying to finish my car and there are a few bits that I am missing, would be nice to have it like it was from the factory :cowboy:

So whilst look for info to answer on another forum I came across this link about under drive pulleys, it is short but concise and well worth reading if thy are on your Christmas list >> http://www.metroplexalternator.com/underdrive-pulley-kits.html Here is a quick copy and post of some info from that link > When you install an underdrive pulley kit your engine is not suddenly producing more horsepower. You are simply using less in one area so that it is available for use elsewhere. The typical claim is that these pulleys slow the belt driven components down anywhere from 20% - 30% and 10 to 15 horsepower can be freed up by installing an und…

I have had an issue with my ABS light for a while now - IE after driving for (say) 80 miles, the light comes on; and then stays on until I switch off the engine and restart again.... Luckily it stayed off during the recent MOT.... …..I had forgotten about it, as the Zed was away for a year. However, it's back now - and I have also noticed a weird "groaning" sound from the ABS module in the boot. Probably because I drove the Zed 150 miles home with no radio.... Darren at Dasstech did mention there's probably a fault within the ABS module; and I have acquired a replacement from Banzai Breakers for £40. So, has anyone else encountered this problem - and…

Has anyone, fitted a non OEM or /upgraded fuel dampener? I currently need to replace the braided fuel (and the OEM dampener). The braided fuel line attaches to the fuel filter with a AN fitting, I would like a AN fitting to attach to the fuel dampener as well. So whether its a OEM dampener with some sort of adapter fitting or an aftermarket damper with an AN I don'T really mind. So long as it gets rid of the current jubilee style clamp that is on there at the moment. Or could I just delete the dampener? FYI - I am already running a Aeroquip FPR

Hi guys I brought some used 18s to fit on my 300 so I don’t flat spot my good tyres while it’s laid up in the garage over the winter. The problem is that the wheels only came with 9 nuts. They’re a funny kind of nut so I’d like to know how I go about getting replacement nuts. Chris

This afternoon on my way to south London I spun the car, don’t know how maybe oil on road, crushed a speed sign post, bounced off a van on the other side of the road. There goes my driving record.

  11. Hello all I want to get soem larger brakes on my TT but dont want to spend too much at the same time. Im not too sure how accurate this is so please correct me if i have the wrong end of the stick here. I know there are kits available with larger calipers and discs, but obviously they cost a fair whack as well. The other (cheaper) option was to upgrade the front calipers to 350z brakes which are apparantly straight bolt on calipers, dont know how true "straight bolt on" is??? The 3rd (cheapest) option was to simply get come brackets to move the existing calipers further up, which then enables bigger discs to go on??? Though im thinking with this…

  15. Since I have a spare manifold and throttle bodies which I'm cleaned up and refurbishing, I've decided to get the stock throttle body intake ports enlarged with larger butterflies similar to the modification that Rob Bastian (RobZ) was doing for people a while back. I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with this modification, I believe 54mm is the largest you can go to in stock throttle bodies (originally 50mm). Can anyone confirm whether this is the max or can they go any larger?

  16. hey guys just wanted to ask has anyone every bleed the abs module after bleeding all for calipers during a standard brake bleed as the fsm states in the braking section? just wanting opinions if you should do it or not really.

When you get a fuel smell in the engine bay it's always the little hoses buried in the middle that are to blame!:thumbup1: Why is it never the easy ones ?? Im gonna change them all as Andrew G told me off about the state of the one near the fuel filter a few weeks ago:tt2:

Hi all, The sagas continue.. After sorting out all the corroded relays in the drivers footwell fusebox and not using the car for a few weeks, the drivers window now doesn't open. Passenger opens/closes fine. The window switch works, and I've read the posts about the amplifier/relay black box at the bottom right of the door panel. I have the exact same sound as the vid here. No motors turning or grinding. So I can hear the contacts clicking when I press the up/down switch, and can see them clicking now I've taken the black cover off. I didn't see any broken solder contacts (pic below), but I resoldered and cleaned up all the connections at the…

  19. Went to this guys house, he had 3 300zxs there for breaking and also a load of Mitsubishi gtos there. Anyway I bought the interior off him seemed nice enough when I went to fit it into my car I realised I needed the rear seatbelts and some other bits to get the door cards on, so I text him and he said no problem £40 posted. I paid him by bank transfer as it’s such a small amount of cash and the fact I’d met him in person. He even told me about his disabled sister he looks after and that he brought the first r33 gtr into the uk (he’s actually the third person who’s said that to me but I just nodded and looked impressed) I don’t know what’s wrong with people somet…

  22. I have tried to remove the plastic cover to get to removing the interior rear view mirror .... but for the life of me, couldn't figure how it comes off (if it does). The 300ZX (1990) Nissan Service Maunal has nothing about removing the interior mirror. I'm sure it's an easy thing to do, and there must be some trick to it without ruining the headliner material or mirror cover piece. I will appreciate any advice or photos showing how to get the entire mirror removed. Thank you. 1990 300ZX 2+2 - 62,000 miles - No Winters!

  23. Hi Everyone these are probably stupid questions but I have found that there are two braid covered cables that go from the Catalytic converters through the transmission tunnel floor underneath the car have been chopped off with presumably wire cutters, and are just hanging underneath the car, Q1 : what purpose should they serve ? Q2 : Is it a problem that they have been cut Q3 :Is it possible to repair them ie: join them back together and if so how Real novice question I know but would appreciate some help I have also noticed that the bits of plastic either side at the front that attach to the front bumper are badly smashed what would they…

  24. I fear I'm acctually going to have to buy some of that UV dye for this job. My radiator will not fill up past 3/4 way, air bubbles stop it going any further - so the simple answer is there's a bloody great leak, and I guess the point it stops filling is at the very bottom of the top rad hose. I'm not sure if this is a common issue, but where am I likely to find the leak as I can't see where it's coming from out the bottom of the engine (again, this has me panicking it's making it's way down a cylinder bore). I'm going to be busy taking my thermostat off later as the car slightly overheated before I went back to Bulgaria, and I'm hoping to god this is the reason and n…
