Hi All I stopped using the forum ages ago when I got rid of the car. However, I've just stumbled across the old guides I wrote for removing and refitting a 300ZX engine. has anyone got a head off a car and can measure the depth of the spark plug thread hole... (i.e. to work out how long the thread should be so that the plug fully clears the thread hole). this is just to prove a point.... cheers.

Hi, I am in the process of changing transmission fluid for my imported auto 1991 zx twin turbo. The transmission pan has no drain plug!? Do I have to just take the pan off? If so what do I reseal it with? Many thanks Nick

quick idea, whilst driving around i spot down a driveway the front end of a yellow zed, so i say hello to the owner, and have a chat, he then tells me he is breaking the zed, i explain that i know the car as it belonged to Nick, Bannanazed, in a bit of a mess now. (was lovely when nick had it) the guy said is there anything you need, all parts were off the car, so i grabbed a couple of bits. 1. complete set of near perfect condition but faded scuttle panels, has a small chip on one of the hidden screw bits. 2. complete in pristine condition centre console, no holes or scratches, even has one of the screw covers and the centre screw cover all i have done is spray …

at last got round to one of the jobs ive been needing to do for a while, got a pair of wings west style skirts from sonic, who got via car mad i think. But i didnt like the hole near the rear arch, so after a bit of filling and blocking over, with expanding foam and decent filler, then a few coats of primer to get as flat as possible, and a couple of coats of kh3 nissan black, just to get an idea of what it will go like, nearly there but will be a whole lot better when sprayed properly along with the new fibreglass 89 spec spoiler, then to get arch's sorted. but its getting there. been doing loads to change the look it had when i got it, going subtle changes, compared t…

Among many issues have found the main cause of your engine running problem, pictures below, inlet cam and exhaust cam wrongly timed, correct ignition timing of 15deg tdc cannot be achieved, who fitted the cambelt for you? called your work today and left a message with one of your guys but not sure he understood who I was, need your ok to carry on. Got the Zed back yesterday after a week in the bodyshop, had the sills finished off,the aerial hole smoothed,rust patches on rear arches sorted and a lot of work around the rear light area (lots of cutting out,refabricating and welding!) and the whole back end sprayed. Drivers side sill in progress Done :)

Hey Guys, Just wanted to get some questions out of the way. If i bought a standard 300zx, what would be the best mods to get more bhp out of the car. Also whats the limit with everything being standard, or what parts would i need to upgrade i would love to get around 380-400 bhp. My main importance would be to 0-60 times being as low as possible. Hard to tell until I get to the garage to have a look for myself, but had a call from the mechanic earlier. He is fitting a japspeed radiator and has phoned to say the radiator isn't the same as the one he just took out, he said there's no pipework for the gearbox cooler. Now its a JDM manual TT, that doesn't have a cooler for the box does it? And if it does then does that mean I've had a maual conversion in the past and some crap has been left behind? Any help appreciated guys, hopefully heading to garage later this afternoon. Cheers

just took my zed out ( i know late on a sunday to be taking out a zed with a broken gearbox ) but was only dropping something to a mate down the road. i noticed it seems to be acting odd, the idle is fine, but when ever i come off the throttle the idle drops and it nearly stalls???? its not done this before, only thing that's changed is it now has a full z1 silicon idle hose set on. they are not leaking or defective, as far as i can tell, but its dark and late so will look tomorrow, anyone ever had this problem?

I've been offered a new pair of Work Equips for the rear of my Z... but they're a little bigger than my current ones, at 18x12 ET-20 :shifty: I'm aware this is a mad size, and I know this will probably mean wide or flared arches, which I certainly don't mind :clap: Will the rear clearance be ok for these wheels does anyone know...? :huh: I'm talking this sort of dish... :shifty::shifty::shifty::shifty::shifty:

OK, Start the car from cold, everything is fine. RPM at 1500rpm and all other gauges are fine. So, I select reverse and as soon as I touch the accelerator the revs drop by 500RPM! I then have to over rev to compensate so as to avoid stalling! This goes on untill she reaches normal operating temp, then the reverse happens! Sits at 850 RPM and as soon as I touch the accelerator the revs jump up 500RPM!! I'm begging you guys, can someone tell me how to fix this? It's making driving bl@@dy hell. The only thing that I can say is, that there is a definite click each time I touch the accelerator and it seems to be coming from the right side of the drivers footwell.

Just a few pics of Japfest 2 I attended today, met some great guys, here`s a few pics, got loads and will update tomorrow ;) Marks car went and sounded great!!! and that 240z was bloody quick as well !! lovely to meet, Roobarb,Chris, Mark and son, CJ`s wife and son, the 2 Portuguese lads in the white 300, the 240z ladz and of course Chris artztogo, and Anthony sfs silicon hoses, bloody hell Loads!!!!!sorry if i missed anyone ,whos the lad with the orange zed with aviator wheels who I was speaking to?his dad is arkwright?
