Put my zed in for its mot on thursday....not a happy result. Failed on front pads...sorted already (fitted new ones) Drivers half-shaft was loose.....sorted Popping noise coming from the front passenger wheel under heavy breaking. This is the one thats baffling me. The tester said to check the security of all the suspension arms. I did this and didnt find any problems. Just spent the past 6 hours raking my brains but have no idea where to go next! Any suggestions?

I'm trying to establish what upgrades (if any) had been done on the replacement TT engine i need to fit. Garage said they had a pair of T4 turbos that were fitted but going to keep for another project, they believed the engine was producing aro,und the 400hp mark but I will take that with a pinch of salt at the moment. I will fit the standard T25's? from the faulty motor, unless I can find something better, but can any one throw some light on why the T4's would have been chosen and what else may have been changed to work with them (ECU upgrade perhaps) as most discussions online talk of the T28's being the favoured option. Going on Garrets site makes no sen…

Seems when my water pipe split at the back of the engine, it caked the UJ, stripping all the carlube id used on it off, and then seizing it up in one direction, got it off today, and lubed it up again and worked it into the joints, its loosened it a bit but will definitely need replacing. but there ya go, there was me thinking it might be the actual steering rack, well if anyone get a split pipe at the back of the engine above the uj, best check it after

Im in somerset. Jimmer isnt far. But I really need a garage, close to home where I can go and get stuff done on an as needed basis. As you probably read on my other thread, getting someone to do my PAS pipe has been a nightmare. I would rather use JeffTT for work, but he is quite far for such a minor job. I just dont want to go paying 2 or 3 hours labour for such a little job. The car is low mileage with no rust and I think it should be pretty straight forward with the right tools. Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated. Who does everyone else in the Area use?

Took my car to the garage to get the PAS pipe changed. Garage said leave it with us 2 hours will give you a call when its done. I walked into town for two hours, went back, car was parked up outside and I thought goody :D Went in to pay, and was told sorry we couldnt change the pipe, looks like a specialist job. I thought wtf! they are meant to be a garage, a PAS pipe is a PAS pipe at the end of the day. But what really wound me up was that they left me out in town for two hours, wasting my time - not letting me know they couldnt do the job. Anyway, I went home, took the two left intercooler pipes of, jacked the car up, and couldnt undo the bolt at th…

I've always thought the 300ZX rear lights were way behind the stunning lines of the rest of the car. A bit of a mid eighties design arcing back to the 70's trans am look and for me a little too fussy. Why couldn't they make the rears as modern and sexy as the fronts? so began my quest to do something a little more interesting and my inspiration was coming from the traditional sports car look of twin red circles either side i.e Ferrari, Corvette, Skyline. The question was Where from? and how?!! so, I started looking around until one day at The Goodwood Breakfast Club I came across a KTM Crossbow!! Bingo!! Just what wanted!! Now I just had to source th…

think my zeds made its intentions clear today, took it to ssr to see what it was running like, coming off the M25 i noticed my auto box stopped working properly, will not shift higher then 2ed + o/d, thinking it was a couple of mile to SSr id look at it there well, and about 1/2 mile before i got there it emptied its radiator, through a meter matrix hose.... fixed it, and filled it back up with water dyno showed good AFR, same boost but less power....??? baring in mind its got less weight on the crank and japspeed elbows, and bigger turbos, it cant be good. to cut a long story short it made it home, but its running hotter then normal, and the ge…

Hello, I've just fitted my new aftermarket exhaust downpipes, but I'm not too sure which way round they go, they have no left or right markings. So do they fit so they swing inwards towards the transmission or outwards towards the sills? Thanks.

I went to nissan today to see if I could get the pipe between the IAAV valve and the balance bar as mine has gone brittle and broke, I have used a pipe similersize and shape but these have been no good. so I decided to bite the bullet and buy the correct pipe for it.£18.00+the vat for a bit of rubber hose 4"inche's long and its in Amsterdam so it wont be here untill 4th of july ,I nearly took a heart attack there in the dealership, And I had to show the lad how to find it on they're epc.as the bloke did'nt know what he was looking for. But I will give him his due he did'nt tell me "oh it is'nt a uk model we can't do that" like alot of dealers would. so fair play

Can anyone advise please ? I am planning to flush my gearbox oil as i think it feels a little 'slack'......nothing I can really put my finger on......maybe slow shifts and doesn't really pick up too quickly when I press the loud pedal. Obviously it would make sense to clean the filters and check for debris/filings etc and replace gaskets etc. Can anyone advise the correct service part number or if there is even a service kit available ? I believe the box is a RE4RO3A but asking my local Nissan dealer for any more would be a waste of breath and phone call !! Any advice very gratefully accepted. Mark

Well.... I`m in love with my zed!!!, she never missed a beat, turned heads wherever she went, and drove beautifully for the 1678 km`s we clocked up over the last week!! From Southport to Cheddar,Weston-super-mare, Stonehenge, Yeovil, Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton, Portsmouth ,Hove, Brighton, Reigate , Wimbledon, London and home and everywhere in-between, she was a dream!!! I left London at 5am this morn to get a few cheeky shots and hammered it home taking just 4 hours!! took 400+ photos and cost about £300 in fuel!! I want to thank all of you who followed my `where's wally thread`It kept me entertained with banter whilst I was lonely in my Hotel some…

Hey Guys, This zed is up on ebay and looks quite decent, only thing is that its running on 5 cylinders, would it be an easy fix? or expensive? What do you guys think in general about the car? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300zx-Twin-Turbo-Spares-Or-Repairs-/261054974440?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3cc816c9e8#ht_754wt_1396 Cheers

As few of you will know, I got myself married last Saturday and that afternoon we set off on our honeymoon in the Zed. We so far have travelled through France on our way to Lucerne in Switzerland stopping off in a couple of hotels. 400 miles on and we are faced with what can only be described as heaven and I swear I saw the corners of my front bumper turn up into a smile; The Gotthard pass sat firmly underneath the Zed. Oh boy, everyone should experience this road and scenery. We have now travelled 840 miles to Lake Como on our way to Venice. The Zed is a stranger on these shores and people stop and stare all the time and ask for photos. Loads more miles to ea…
