General Discussions - 300ZX Related

So nearly done, but there are a few things I forgot / didn't take a photo of as I was undoing it. So first thing is this silver cable . . . does anyone know where it goes or what it does? It wasn't connected to anything when I removed the engine and I forgot to investigate while engine was out. Second thing is these boost pipes, where do they go? I know one goes to a nozzel on the side of the plenum but the other . . . I have no idea. Thanks in advance.

week and a half from beaulieu and its all gone pete tong ,,went to go for a drive this evening and sounds like ive got a bank down ,,pulled of coil plugs when running and it points to the left middle ,swopped over coil pack not that changed plug not that seems fuel as the plug was bone dry im thinking injector,, any one think the same of can i try somthing else better still anyone close to andover who knows zeds inside out? dont think im gona get it fixed by the 5th :0(:angry:

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I would like to check out the sensor from the connection end, measuring resistance etc' during warm up. can any one tell/show me which connector it is? The sensor I am looking to check is the one next to the EGR valve.

I have in the past been unfortunate enough to fall foul of 1 or 2 less honourable sellers, some may have been for unfortunate but questionable reasons, but others more like down right theft. Wiseco pistons (88mm I think) Eagle rods Metal HG 650cc injectors which have been flow tested Port and polished heads New cambelt, all gaskets/seal New oil pump New water pump The full build and head work done by Jimmer but hasn't been run yet

To a 2+2 and has the interior boot trim fitted around it?

Well i dont drive my 300zx daily but i noticed when i moved it some oil on the floor, smells like oil anyway. Today there was a lack of power above 4500-5000 rpm, when i parked at home i noticed that turning the engine off there was a loud wining noise like a failing pump coming from the rear off the car. Not sure what that was, investigation showed the oil leak was coming from the join in the offside exhaust and the mid silencer all the offside pipe from that part on to the rear of the car was dirty. Im going to assume this is not a good thing

Hi all, Ive been away fron the Zed and the forums for a while only popping on here now and again. Ive not been down the unit to work on my car in about 2 months i just cant find the enthsiasm to work on her....Now the lovely weather is here im kinda kicking myself in the teeth as i was hoping to be at least running it in by now. Ive not been lazy though ive found yet another expensive hobby playing woodsball or scenario paintballing. Its a great laugh even if being shot in certain places does hurt haha. Hi, I am new in here but my mate told me that this is best zx club. So i decide you may will help me. Well changed my injectors and than I was changing chip i left my ecu opened and some how smokes came out from ecu. So now i am looking for a problem. I took new ECU, new ptu, new relays and fuses and its still the same. Than we connected conzult program and it's showing error code 21. So what could it be? I know its some ignition circuit error. Another thing, spark plugs give only very small sparks and i thing injectors dont give any fuel to the cylinders. It's could be some burn wire fault or what? Please help me dont know what to do and how can help…

Hi guys, I've got a 15" JL Audio sub in a box from a previous car, I want to use this in the Zed as theresnothing wrong with it and I'm skint after buying my first house LOL. I'm going to lose the rear seats and the face of it will be firing forward but is it going to be just too big in general? What's your thoughts on this???????? Cheers, Rob

My front washer jets constantly clog up with crap. Have recently noticed though that the rear washer always works fine. Not sure on the setup of these but I assume they are fed from the same washer bottle so confused as to why the fronts clog yet the rear is fine? Cheers.

i noticed the zed very slightly smoking on tick over (blue smoke) but only did it when on a incline it's ok when on the flat and under normal driving it has done it before after running on boost and parking up quite soon after i will get smoke at tickover but it clears as soon as i driver a little further, did the pcv valves about 850 miles ago could it be some residue left in the pipes causing the problem? or something more sinister?

Hi guys, just wondering if the two red zeds i see today, have seen both on several occasions, were any of you? One is a G plate with standard wheels (painted gold) usually on plough road, Great Bentley The other is a H reg with full bodykit etc on Old School Lane, Elmstead. Doesn't look like its moved in a while though.

Not finished yet still does need adjusting speed rpm and change water sensor but u get the idea :) and i do have 3 maching gauges for a pillar just whaiting for gauges pod from zcentre before after

whilst cleaning my garage out, ive found i have 3 spare throttle position sensors and 3 ptu's. Is there any way of testing them of the car with a voltmeter, or any write up how to's on how to do it, ive look in the FAQ, and also on twinturbo.net, but cant find anything. Anyone???

Over the last couple of months i have had an ordeal trying to buy parts from a member on here. As i am currently away when i am told that parts have been sent and i check home to find nothing has arrived it worries me. This is a combination of bad salesmanship, bad communication via PM and just bad manners.
