So I took the car for it's first proper test drive after the turbo's have been done. I was driving it home, everything was running fine. Then on the motorway I noticed that the car wasn't feeling right, like it's missing on one of the cylinders. So I got it home gently, parked on the drive and popped the bonnet. I thought I'd find out which cylinder it was by removing the coil pack connector one by one to see when one made no difference. I got them all off and they all were working, as i went to put the last one back on the engine died. And now will not re-start. When I go to start it it turns over, I can smell fuel after doing it for a little while, so I'm gue…

whilst just changing my front disks, my drivers side front brake dust / heat shield fell off, this is the large sheet of metal behind the disk, due to the rust getting into it. it wasnt held in place by any screws or bolts, just sits on the hub. Is it needed for MOT, or is there some stupid reason in the mot guild-lines that it has to be in place, like if you run over someone, it has to be there so the person you ran over, after hitting the bumper, being dragged under the car, past the splash guard, missing the cross member, you dont get your arm caught in the moving brake disk??, then after you have dealt with the exhaust just below the turbo's, you hit the rear diff a…

Well after doing my pin 44 thing, and also sorting out my audio (seemed to have lack of base for some reason) decided to take my little boy for a driver and also test what effect doing wiring in the neutral switch was going to have. Anyway, driving through down earlier, quite congested, couldn't do more than 20, had this black ford following me, anyway, was slowing down, with my indicator on to turn right, when next thing i know, i got shunted from the rear. Although i had rust bubbles there wasnt any cracks in it like that. There is more damage but these were the ones i noticed right away and took photos of. The damage to his car…

Point me in the right direction. Car appears to pull okay but at 4500 rpm just stops pulling and I get the pop of fuel detonating in the exhaust. I do have a blitz boost controller so tend to keep fuelled with the Tesco 99 as that's the best a man can get round these parts. Any idea what may be causing this problem. If its any help I recently had an issue with a leaky oil pipe around the rear diff cooler which has been replace not sure if this has any bearing on.possibly a sensor issue ? Help appreciated

Hi peeps, I'm nearing the end of receiving parts from z1 to finish my engine bottom end rebuild, I'm told I should get new turbos while the engine is out. Do I get the new ball bearing technology or get the housing/impellers replaced (not rebuilding) and use current turbo housing (so good as a new turbo), I've heard trouble with the 360 degree thrust bearings and even a mate has has two failed ones of these from Turbo Technics, going out of my mind of what to do?? I need a four bolt solution and a 2.5" downpipe. Are these ok? http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_16&products_id=3862 Thanks.

Talking to ultimateray this evening both of our cars are autos convertted to manual. And we both have high idles when warm around 1500 and 2k with clutch depressed. Looking about it sems in the us they routinly knock down the idle speed after a manual conversion. Is this right and do I still need to do it?

Had a very weird thing happen today. Driving home on a near straight road,my steering wheel points dead ahead and car tracks in a straight line. After about a mile I notice the steering wheel starting to go off centre, car still going straight, after about another half a mile the steering wheel had turned to the left by about two inches, yet the car was still going dead straight and not pulling to either side. I came to a roundabout, went round it onto another straight and steering had returned to normal but then the same thing happened and kept returning all the way home. I haven't got a ****ing clue what's going on, anyone else have a clue? I can on…

Finally got round to fitting the aerial I bought, bit of a struggle but managed in the end. However, nothing happened when I switched my radio on so I thought, sod it, I'll look at it tomorrow but when I switched the radio off, the mast came up?? So, it stays down when the radio is on and comes up when turned off which kinda defeats the purpose of a new aerial! Tell me it's something simple (like me). Cheers folks! Ronnie

Mine are smoking lightly after decatting. Its a pisser but thats life. Ive been given 2 quotes to rebuild one of 190 a side the other over 300 a side. The cheaper being from turbo dynamics. I know I can rebuild myself and get them balanced, the balancing is around 60. So whats my options and whats the deal with 360 bearings? And should I even bother doing a rebuild or would an upgrade be within budget, and worth doing. I onl yh want about 350 to 400 usable horses. My budjet is a max of 600 for a complete job. With the block out il be able to deal with those pesky rocker seals. And renew the turbo oil lines. So lets discuss.
