What kind of safe power can you run on standard pistons and head gaskets?

i am intending to replace my wiring loom as the connectors are broken, green, and furry and I notice that Z1 sells a range of loom options, for different age cars. I am also thinking of replacing my injectors...so the dilema is which loom should i go for (i understand that the latter injectors have a different connector to the early ones) and whats the biggest injector that i should go for on (currently) stock tubs and engine? (I plan to go for a dual intake, z1 SMIC and uprated Z1 ecu chip now as well, and i hope to upgrade engine and tubs later....) any advice guys? M

ive been through some ups and downs with this car but im sick of this now. as some of you know i recently converted from auto to manual but i have to say i dont even want to drive it anymore. thats a real first. the whole thing feels disjointed clunky, im pretty sure the turbos have shit the bed i took it out tonight and it stinks of oil and chucks out white smoke when it feels like it. every time you pull away it rattles and feels like it wants to stall. i can honestly say two weeks ago i had a very solid auto jdm zed. now if im totally honest i have a smokey piece of rattley shit. i need help or im gonna burn the thing to the floor.

Can anyone tell me if this is correct please? After warming my zed up in neutral in the garage, so as to do some Data Scan checks, I could not help but notice my waste gate solenoids were switching ON at around 2250rpm under no load!! Is this normal? Does not sound correct to me, my limited understanding is that they should operate when under boost so as to help limit the boost pressure! Could be wrong though?

Hi guys Stripped wings, front and rear bumper etc from my car, wondering why there off, what's the best stuff to paint or spray behind them and underneath car and wheel arches with. Have no rust and wanna make sure I don't get any. Gonna be doing it on my drive, is there somthing I can paint on maybe less messy then spray with a few dust sheets. When it was painted done arches with I think it was called it shoots, but my neighbours will kill me for spraying if it goes everywhere, Seen tins of underseal is this any good. Any help appreciated, thank u.

Anybody know the weight of 4 brake discs and calipers? Wrapping up some but don't have any scales, buyer has asked so that they can tell their courier and i wouldn't even like to hazard a guess! Just trying to save a trip to the postie if anyone can help, Cheers.

Just found out from zedworld that my car has passed its third MOT in a row! The only advisory in all that time has been that the rear tyres are worn. I use it daily and bought it expecting it to be a money pit, but it hasn't been. :biggrin: The only problem is that I'm setting myself up for a fall, the turbos will probably need replacing next week!

well seems like every week im asking for help, starting to think i should have thrown the towel in a long time ago, too late now im stuck with it lol. i got a load of bits turn out from z1 as well as my new (used) box, was planning to do alot of work on it saturday, but it seems to have developed another worrying fault. was sitting in the work car park letting it warm up before going home, and one of the mechanics came running over with a huge grin to say "your zeds smoking".... large amount of blue smoke out of one side, defiantly oil, after insulting me and it for a few mins they finally tried to help diagnose the problem, as its not smoked since the engi…

Well the car is back from the paint shop and the Stillen lip is fitted..... .....along with one or two other bits of paintwork tidying. Here are a couple of phone-pics for now; it was raining when I got home so I'll take a few more with my DSLR once I have waxed the car later on!! Richard:clap:

Making a Home brew Parallel or 300* Fuel rail Chopped up the standard rail and the very restrictive 5mm bore link and made everything to 8mm inc bore i'm going with the parallel route on this as thought it would be a better idea as both banks will give the same amount of Fuel pressure and Flow Less chance of Leaning cylinders out this is all so going to be used with a 320lph Pump from Deatschwerks In-Tank DW301 Fuel Pump using a external fuel pressure reg dose any one know the fuel pressures needed for say idle to top rpm ? do u guys think its a good or bad idea ?

i dont use my zed from one day to the next weekends mostly when i turn the key for the first time it fires but only just fires then a touch of the pedal and shes running on choke ,when i first got my zed it started and ran on choke without touching the pedal at all anyone got any ideas before i hassel jeff (again)

Hi guys, where's the best place to buy a 99spec front bumper, seen them on z centre is that the cheapest place to get one, or has anyone got one forsale. Seems u can get fiberglass copies but had bad experiance with them when younger and want original. Had a prelude vtec spent over a grand on a body kit then painted it. Had it on about 2wks and the neighbour backed his van up, and front bumper shattered lol. He said he would pay and not to go through insurance, I never reported it and he never paid. Reckon if it was original material it would of only bent in and came out, he barely touched it.

i decatted when i did my manual conversion and i now have a small amount of white smoke on idle and a it smokes when reved. seems to smoke less once warm, i drove it the other day stayed off boost for about 5 minutes at motorway speeds and had 0 smoke. the car still boosts well and pulls well. i seems to remember jimmer putting up a diagnostic thing for smoke, ie hold at this rev and if it does this etc etc. i had absolutely no issues before decatting and im pretty sure its the turbo oil seals i just want to be sure before i go putting considerable time and expense sorting out the wrong problem. input welcome guys

Hi, sorry for are creating another thread but i really need help from you guys. My engine as you know dont start. Problem is simple. After i changed to stock injectors and I changed ECU chip and than a problem started. Smokes was coming out my ECU. So i tried to fix it: Had another ECU, i changed two relays on pessenger side, i changed PTU and all engine loom. And still got the same problem. Does anyone live in East London how can come down and help me please. Let me the price and we sort that out. I just definitely need a car by a friday. I believe that is just small thing need to be fixed But what it could be? Thank you guys for understanding.

So having now bought Craigs Bose speaker boxes, i now need some speakers to sit in them. what would be the best type and kind to compliment what i've already got? In the front i already have some 6" mids with a crossover and tweeters And in the back i have the sub box from Mark with my two 10" sub and amp. And i have one 6x4" in the rear compartments (the other one's f*cked, cheep ebay sh*te) All powered by this (soon to be replaced) So i need something to try and replicate the noise that i'm missing from a pair of shelf mounted 6x9's So if anyone else has the bose enclosures, what have you got in them???

I want to make a front splitter, im thinking along the lines of a curved rubber strip. Like on the front of many modern cars. I dontreally want to make it out of fibre glass for obvious reasons. Any suggestions of what to use, I have the 89 spec front
