this is a little Q , please, to those MOT testers out there or those who have made this mod. Assume the lenses are clear and the bulbs are lower watt than std on the front fogs (at the bottom of the bumper, you know the ones) .....is there a reason why I cannot take the wire off the fog light switch and re-attach to the running lights switch so they work in tandem with the side lights/ low beam. The result would obv be ON at 1st click giving four front lights , ON at 2nd click giving four front lights, OFF when high beam is selected. Its a Jap import so this job it quite straight forward. oooh and do not concern your self with the rear fog. Che…

Basically I was replacing my S1 PTU with the S2 everything went alright except that I didn't bother putting 2 bottom bolt/screws when I put the PTU on, the 2 bolts on the top I felt were more than enough to secure the PTU well. anyways I started the car, car started fine but I could hear stupidly loud screeching sound, and when I say loud I mean REALLY LOUD!, I couldn't even get near the engine bay to investigate. After further investigation I found out its the 'Driver side timing belt cover' somehow fouling and making the noise, the noise eventually eased up but was still loud enough to annoy I took the PTU off again and this time tried bolting al…

I've been searching for a nice set of 3 piece split rims for a good while now. I have a set in mind. New they are £4k plus so I've been keeping my eye on Japanese auctions. Anyway, every set that comes up has some level of damage. There are a set for sale at the mo. they have minor corrosion, scratches and kerbing. One has a very small dent. So.... Can anyone recommend anybody who can restore these wheels? I want them in 'as new' condition but I don't want to import them to find that they can't be restored. Even with the damage, they are pretty damn expensive. Thanks

In 2009 I completed a full rebuild of my UK 300ZX - engine, respray, interior etc. Unfortunately since then it has been sorned and sat in the garage. The one and only job I didn't attend to was the brakes and they were terrible to the extent it failed the brake bias part of the MOT test. The tester passed it presuming it would free up with use :shifty: Here's the car: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?126910-My-Zed&highlight= Anyway I recently decided to perhaps put the car back on the road and therefore overhaul the brakes. I removed the front calipers and indeed they were in a shocking state. At least 3 of the 4 pistons were seized. I had…

just a quick question. is the central locking supposed to work from both doors? I only ask because went to lock my car yesterday, and the lock broke and spun round further than usual:asshole:. so now can't lock the car from the drivers side. went to lock it from the passenger side (for the first time) and it only locked the passenger side. i will try and fix the drivers lock at the weekend but if the passenger side isn't supposed to lock both doors then i'll leave that well alone.

Jeff and Jamie have worked their magic again.... .....For the first time my blue ZX had actually let me down by dumping coolant on my garage floor whilst parked. The culprit? A dead water-pump!! So one visit to Zedworld today and Jeff fitted a new waterpump - plus a shiney brand new Nissan viscous fan (oh and a new cam-belt just to be safe, since he had the front of the engine off); now all is well again!! Thanks guys; the car is back to its normal happy self once more!!! Richard:clap:

hi, does anyone know where i can get either a whole new speedo assembly or ideally, just the odo and stepper motor? im not trying to clock it back, im sure most ppl will assume i am, but im honestly not, i dont do nearly enough miles to make it worth the effort (i would say that though right?) my speedo stopped counting up miles and after taking it all apart it seems the stepper motor has some problem as the actual miles counter runs freely and smoothly. oh and the speedo and everythinkg else works fine, just it doesnt clock up the mileage. after putting it all back together, my counter is now running backwards somehow :S i bought a new cluster but i…

Had new front and rear brake pads fitted on the car about a month ago but just recently the brakes have started to make a clicking noise as I'm slowing down for a corner or to stop. Anyone had this or got any idea what it is? Cars going back the mechanics next week but any advice would be appreciated.
