I was asked by a friend to come and have a look at his mates red uk tt auto zed as he's thinking of parting with it. I was told that the car had been sitting for quite a long time, but it was once a cover car. When i got there, the car looked quite nice from a distance, nice kit, very nice wheels etc. When i got close up though, i could tell that it was in a very bad state of disrepair. There was mold and moss in various places, the laquer was peeling and had blatently not had a single once of love for god knows how long! I had a little feel under the blended skirts only to find the sills literally turning to dust! such a shame, as the bloke told me when he boug…

  5. Firstly I want to thank the guys at Custom Exotics for all their help so far and allowing me to work on my car in their workshop. I know I've been in the way and they probably can't wait to see the back of my Z, but my car has been their since April after finding more and more problems. They've given me help, opinions, let me borrow the odd tool and not once have they turned their back on me. Without these guys I have no doubt my Z would have been scrapped after so many places doing shoddy work on my Z. At the moment, my interior is all out and being trimmed so I thought I better make sure the bodywork is ok as sadly I found I couldn't rely on anyone else. I started…

  7. I've had my 91 import (2005) TT for about 2 months now and we have had ups and downs. After buying it as soon as I put my foot down on the test drive, I got home and found numerous faults. The previous owner said all the right things (mostly lies) and left me with a bodged and leaking injector, completely pissed suspension, leaking BOVs off a Supra, perished PS pipes, a *****cks 2 week old MOT with rear discs like poppadoms and leaking windows. Not happy with my £3000 sieve I gave it to Zedworld and got all sorts done, of note, BOVs removed, suspension aligned, and an ECU upgrade with 13.5psi boost. The problem now is that I got home (200+ miles from Zedworld) and t…

Hiya, Well - my problem is rather strange one. Few weeks ago i finally finished my importing saga (imported 300zx from Guernsey). Submitted all paperwork to DVLA, paid all the fees, etc. 15 days ago received all paperwork (V5 / tax disc / new number plate papers, etc). However - i cannot insure it as its not in database! None of the insurance companies can see it online. Even if i try to do HPI check - no such number exists! Already wrote few mails to DVLA - they responded - we did all as we should, speak to your insurers...

i need some advice from the engine builders among us. i want to build a 500bhp engine, that's strong enough to maintain a fair degree of reliability. the current plans between me and the guys at work have managed to make a list of parts coming to nearly £10,000, so i think im over doing it, im wondering what you guys would do to build an engine to this spec? i've got the hardware to make the power but need an engine that wont go bang the first time its used on a track. 555cc injectors and a dual intake, as well as a bigger turbos etc, i also need to know how you make sense of the bearings? i want to get some uprated ones like i had i…

However I need to replace the fuel filter now so any tips on removing tjay big square box fuse for the fuel pump. Or can anyone else me some japanese sized hands to perform the removal of the fuse :)

As in title I just wondered if anyone had any opinions on the 2fast2cool intercoolers that have recently appeared on eBay. eBay Link I did do a search on here trying to see whether anybody on here had fitted these and what they thought to the quality but it didn't turn anything up. Also, I couldn't find any sizes of the stock intercoolers so couldn't tell whether the cores are even any bigger than standard. The pressure drop figure sounds pretty good to me but I couldn't find anything zed related to compare it to. Any opinions appreciated! James

Hi guys Sorry for the abrupt entry! Anyway i'm looking to get hold of someone that owns a car to the below spec. It needs to be exactly the same as the below. 1998 Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX Version (i'm not even sure that makes sence, the fairlady was the import of the 300zx wasn't it?) S TT 2 seater I can't tell you to much about it on here but it is a very cool opurtunity for the owner and will involve you earning some money! If you have the above please contact me on nickturner90@hotmail.com. The car can be modified or standard, pref one with an uprated exhaust system Thanks all

Hi Chaps, As i've mentioned in a previous thread, i've found a set of rims in Japan that i'm going to order. They are on yahoo auctions. initially, i was going to use an agent to import the wheels but their fees will likely work out at around £500. Me no likey! So i thought...... could i just order them myself and arrange for an international courier? Obvious problem being that i dont speak Japanese but £500 for fees just seems a bit greedy. Ta

I can't believe I'm actually saying this but some unfortunate circumstances have come my way over the last 6 months. I'm so sad to have to ask this question after 5 years of money, love and devotion havegone into this car but here goes...... How much can I get for it? I'm looking for a quick sale and preferably cash. Oh yes, I also have a load of spares including SWB doors, targas, tailgate, bonnets, rear bumper, tonns of enginge spares, interior panels etc. Andy

Ive been doing some searching on tinterweb for the perfect rims for my Z. I have a list of 'they'll do nicely' rims and I know the style I'm after. I'm 99% sure I'll be going for 19s and I believe 9" +25 and 10" +40 will fit nicely. However, I've seen so many pics of slammed motors with massive dish. I want that look! But how? I don't want the crazy camber and ridiculously stretched tyres, but I do want hooooge dish! There are a set of work VS-XX on driftworks at the mo which are gorgeous. 18s unfortunately but I might still be tempted. But how can I make rims like these fit? Just a case of rolling the arches? I have adjustable everything and co…
