HI guys, been doing a few bits to the zed over the last week, and now found rear subframe bushes dripping, stripped it off and heated up and knocked old ones out are stock bushes available or aftermarket, what's your opinions on the ones to buy and where from. Looks like the zed is gonna b off the rd for a while now, looks like a bloody breaker on the drive, no bumpers, wings, subframe not much left on it lol. Think I'm just gonna pull the engine out now too, have spare engine what was gonna rebuild and swap over when done. Wanna spray engine bay again so why it's all stripped may has well pull it and get whole car sprayed for the 4th tim…

  5. As the title says, is there anyone in telford able to go view a zed for me? Really want to know if it has any rust on the rear arches / sills (might be hard to check due to body kit) and what the engine bay looks like / has any over heating issues? PM me if subscribed, if not let me know ill send you a link to the zed in question.

Hi guys, got wings, bumpers, doors etc off my zed, trying to align the doors so they shut with the gaps perfect, reshelled my car and used doors and wings etc from my other zed. Think I'm being really fussy but where the door meets rear quarter just under windows it sticks out slightly, are there any bodywork genius that have any tips or is it just play with the hinges to I get it right. How close were zeds panels when new were they pretty much spot on, Thanks guys.

Hi everyone Does anyone know whether you should be able to turn the pulley on the air con compressor (pump) by hand once it has been removed and is lying on the workbench or is it really difficult, i.e doesn´t move even slightly ? As always, any help greatly appreciated. Maz

Bad brakes may not always be what you think. Case in point, a zed having multi jobs done had a reported poor brakes and the owner requested we change the front discs amd pads, this is a very common problem and blaming the front disc set up is not always the way to go, a quick inspection of the rear discs revealed much more. The rear of the discs condition was worse than the front, with so little pad swept area actually doing anything this transfers more load to the fronts so they end up heating up much quicker and performance drops off, as it happens the front discs and pads were ok. The inside of the discs were also in a bad way with lots…

Hi guys. I went and picked my zed up yesterday morning, had a nice steady cruise back as wanted to get used to the car, but also due to the fact it was raining for most of it. I can't fault the car, it drives spot on, so so much different to what I've been used to. Roads dried out a little in the afternoon so went out for a play, I can see me using a lot of petrol as I don't seem to be wanting to get out it lol. Anyway, on to the point of this thread, took it out tonight to see a mate, noticed on the way home that the indiglow dash lights weren't working. Got home and it appears to be the switch for colour/brightness as I gave this a bit of a wiggle about and…

Anyone in or around Glasgow with conzult? Had a misfire then went for a timing belt and service and replacement TPS, but the replacement TPS was knackered too. Taken car back home and have another TPS now, will stick that on when I get loan of multimeter and hopefully solve eratic idle and hesitation, but I fear the problem may be two fold and would appreciate a look at things on conzult and take advise from there to see what else might be going on. I'm immobilised at the moment until I sort a wheel situation out too so it would be a home visit anytime you like or I can come to you in a couple of weeks when I get wheels sorted. Cheers

I know this one has probably happened to a few people but thought i'd start a new thread anyway. My drivers window is playing up, sometimes it just needs a few goes but today it just didn't want to come back up. I could still here a relay clicking when it was pushed but no movement from the window. ended up taking the door card off and then having a play with the switch, and simply by giving this unit a tap it sprung into life. The plug seemed pretty sound so i'm assuming it must be a dodgy contact somewhere. Anybody reckon its worth removing and trying to save?
