Hi guys, Ok, I've been having problems with the auto-box and the speedo on my TT. Intermittent speedo and intermitent flashing power light. So I've just been underneath and done the speed sensor fix, took it round the carpark and it seems to have worked. Then I did the auto diagnotic and its throwing up "open or shorted revolution sensor" can anyone help me with what to do now???? Erm..... I'm actually sitting by the car now, so if anyone can answer straight away that would be hugely appreciated. :begging Thanks

Seem to be seeing more turbo gasket failures, seems odd as they often fail in the same way, and not due to loose nuts etc. I have a feeling that its more often with non standard gaskets the failures occur, pain in the butt to get to for a small gasket eh? Jeff TT

Now that I think I may have sorted my idle system out, I thought I would play around with Data Scan again. Thought I would start with looking at how she was running with regards to fuelling. I have attached a video showing the car at operating temperature in the dashboard display showing various values, then I have switched to the fuel map display. As I do not understand it myself, would you guys have a look and, firstly see if everything looks right, and secondly, would someone explain exactly what I am looking at please? Have a few associates who run general car garages and when I was at one the other day was surprised to see a 2 year old Fiesta having a new front road spring fitted, chatting with the foreman there he said they are getting them on a regular basis now, old and new, from Ford to Mercedes and speed safety reduction measures (speed bumps) are the prime suspect! now given a fair few of these cars are been driven with broken springs and often do get noticed until MOT time is the safety measure savings in potential accidents not been watered down by the increase risk of cars been driven unknowingly with the aforementioned damage...puts me in mind of a zed last month with a bro…

The passenger side window isn't working on the switch or the drivers side switch. Checked with a spare motor and hat doesn't work so ruled that out. What else could it be, any ideas?

Hi Guys. this is a thread on my long and expensive journey which started a few years back. The car belonged to a good friend of mine and after doing so paint work on the car I fell in love with car but just could not swing the kind of money it was going for. Anyway he sold it to another friend of mine who then paid a very well know tuner to forge the motor (Arias pistons, eagle rods ACL bearings etc) at a cost of ZAR40.000. A couple of months later the head gasket blew and he opened the motor and guess what? no forged motor parts inside...all stock. This is where I enter the scene.....my friend at that time was gutted and sold it to me for a price I could afford, I trad…

Just pulled up at some lights, steam started gushing out from under the bonnet, temp gauge all the way to the top. Pulled her over and took a look under the bonnet, lots of greenish coolant everywhere. Clearly something has gone wrong XD Anyway, took a few snaps of the engine bay, can you guys take a look and tell me what you think? (sorry the pics are blurry) The last one makes me think that a belt is missing, I can't find a good picture of that area though. Cheers John

Hi everyone, long time no "see" ( been working on my bike) Drove to Antwerp last weekend, only about 160 km from here. Didn´t thrash the car or anything as it´s a 120km limit there. when I started the car the next morning the cold idle was about 2000 rmp, dropping to around 1500 rpm when warm. I´ve: 1: disconnected the ECU for a while to no avail, 2: done an ECU diagnostic with a 55 result ( No errors) 3: Checked MAF and air filters 4: checked the ECU water temp sensor 5: disconnected the AAV and turned the base idle down, which brought the revs down to 1600rpm when cold and 1050 when warm. Throttle bodies were c…
