Ok guys, currently speaking to Groover about becoming a trader for 'Cleaning products'. I can supply the usual like Autoglym and Meguiars, but can also supply Poorboys full range ( used alot by the VW guys ). Now the main question is what brands etc do you use? I will be looking at supplying Dodo Juice in the near future but in order to get this off the ground quickly i was hoping to get an idea of what you guys use and what you would try etc. Regards Greig

As the title states, another blue smoke thread. I have read through some of the previous threads about this but haven't really got anywhere. My issue is.... When I start up from cold I get a little bit of smoke, this continues for about 5 mins of no boost. Once warmed up and boosts for the first time, I see more smoke but then after that its all gone. Is this down to the turbos or something else?

2 years ago, my tax ran out of the zed, sorned it, and started doing various jobs, whilst trying to save cash and doing all the jobs myself, ive replaced with new interior, suspension, and loads of other stuff. BUT MY Main issue was removing the veilside skirts, and it opened a can of worms. rot in the sills, targas draining into them and what started as small areas of rust soon developed into nasty stuff. After choping it all out, it was getting very worrying, as i thought this is the end of a very late spec UK TT Manual. But after a bit of time, i replaced the inner sills and returns with new, and had them welded up. so at least the inside stuff was goo…

Hi, I thought this would be easy to find out, but turns out it isn't...or least not for me! Will a 500Kg engine hoist happily hold an NA engine?

Not really sure where to begin as it was a extremely long day! Anyways here it goes. (Warning it will be a bit long) Got a train from London to Zed world around 5 A.M and got there for around 8.30 am to collect the car, had couple of things fixed crank seal, under seal, consult and general assessment so drove away with a clean bill of health. Drove around 50 miles to get started with the remap and tune by Noel (turboNoz) Managed to get there for around 9:40am. First impressions Noel was a top guy, easy going and easy to work with. I have to mention that he did a BIG favour (under statement) me by doing a one day tune up as he normally keeps the car for a few da…

I plan to clean my throttle bodies over the next few days, can anyone recommend a decent cleaner please? Also, when I have cleaned them, I plan to check that the butterflies shut correctly. Am I right in thinking that they should snap shut? or should there be a gap? My understanding is that they should close off completely, (snap shut) leaving the auxiliary air control system, in conjunction with the ECU to determine the correct tick over. Would that be correct?

Could someone help me understand the exact purpose and function of this valve please? Also, are there any multi meter readings that I may be able to try to both the valve itself and the voltage I should be looking for from the harness side? The reason I ask is, due to the cold but dry weather of late, I have been out and about in the zed quite a bit. problem is, my tick over starts at 1200 rpm and gradually settles at 750 rpm once she has reached full temp'. This makes initial driving very difficult especially as I have a troublesome gearbox. If I disconnect it, there appears to be no noticeable effect at all.

Got a mid morning call from my best mate, he had a moment on the M40 this morning going to work and despite been an ace driver could not stop the 180 spin into the barrier!!!!!!!!!!!! Good news he walked away unhurt, which is the most important, but his zed of 14 years ownership is looking less well, thank goodness for the barrier which stopped this been a very different outcome. Wondered what others are doing to refurbish the targatops? Problems with mine are: Glass is going milky around the edges in some places - not sure how to fix. Little bit of corrosion on the metalwork - easily sortable. Plastic end caps need replacing on the ends of the metalwork - easy. Plastic trim around the three edges of the glass. Brand new replacement would be ideal - are these parts even available? I'd happily replace the targa with a solid carbon fibre version if such an item existed :)
