Does anyone have any tips on how to get the aircon pulley off the pump? I can't get it in my vice and even my 16" grips can't grab hold of the pulley to stop it turning. The nut turns as the pulley spins, does anyone have any idea if it's a regular or left handed thread?

Some of you may remember I made an ITB setup for the vg30det engine 3 years ago. At that time, I also planned to make one for the vg30dett so I bought an extra set of 45mm bore Jenvey ITB's and this winter I started working on it. Because of the little space underneath the bonnet and the masses of hoses, wires etc. I needed to have an actual 300zx to test fit. A friend offered me his 300zx, it's an old one with 234.000km on the clock (even original engine) and it needed a timing belt. The engine runs OK but at idle wasn't very happy. I found some leaking hoses but they didn't really help after fixing, eventually I noticed the engine is consuming oil badly and probabl…

I posted at the start of this month i had bought a SWB N/a with a naff engine and was planning on doing a TT swap among other things and general tinkery stuffs.... ( BTW i bought this with a Big end Bearing gone.....) Well i started to strip her down and upon removing the R/h Wing i found this abomination! Then obviously having to remove the engine and planning on stripping the underside i start removing the engine beginning with the Fluids and find a certain something peeping out the sump! (the dipstick i knew about when buying the car and the look on the owners face when i asked him where the rest of it was was priceless) This next on…

Ok, during my ongoing attempts to remove the main ECU / engine harness I noticed it had been spliced into - The Toad (Ai606 I think) is spliced into the interior harness, which does attach to this harness via a socket plug connection, but doesn't seem to be connected to the engine harness directly. I thought maybe it was for the immobiliser. Just wondered if anyone had this on their NA (or TT), as I don't want to go to all the trouble of installing a dodgy harness. Cheers!

Hello  Can anyone advise me i have just bought a second hand radiator for my 92 non turbo, auto import ZX which i thought would be straight forward but unfortunately not. first could not find anywhere that could supply a new rad which would fit straight in to replace the knackered one. then managed to get a second hand one and my mechanic now telling me he cant fit it as he states it is off a manual car. Would the only difference be the auto box oil cooler and can this be adapted to fit my car if i add a oil cooler. The guy i got it from has tried to explain it to me but im not sure if i understood him correctly. I would appreciate some help please as t…

Well, after a long winter's hibernation - I'm ready to work on the Zed again. I need to remove the crankshaft pulley in order to replace the timing belt but the puller that I borrowed from work was too big. What kind of puller is everybody using and would this Halford's puller do the job? http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_172484_langId_-1_categoryId_255216#tab3 Thanks in advance - Andy

Well the smoking slowed off which I thought was due to warm weather but then the misfire came back. Checked the plug and it was wet with oil. Did compression test and these are the results- 5- 165..... 6- 160...... 3- 170..... 4- 040...... 1- 170..... 2- 165..... Cylinder 4 (I assume I've written them out right) is extremely low so assuming piston ring on that cylinder (that is the one with the oil on the plug)

I was looking for new leather seat covers. I remember a while back I got some colour samples from leatherseats.com and some people mentioned they were good quality. I want to confirm that they will fit on my Zed seats?? Did anyone else order from the US? Are there any differences in the seats? Always liked the look of this:

Hey Im having a bit of an issue with my drivers seat Over the last few months a problem has appeared where the back rest of my drivers seat is twisting during hard cornering. The inside of the seat (JDM car so Right hand drive) leans further back and points my body towards to center of the car. The only way I have found to put the seat back into a straight position is to reach around the back of the seat and physically pull the seat straight again. When the seat is straight, it doesnt immeadiately collapse back into its twisted state, it does require some weight to re twist it. Whether its straight or twisted, the adjustment that changes the angl…

Still mulling over the wheels on my new zed. got a guy not too far from me flogging what looks to be half decent set off darkish gold 5spoke type (not Toyota, some generic alloy make avb or something) off his MK2 MR2, 17 x 8jj 38 and 17x9jj 35, with tyres for £200 Ono. Tyres on front are prob a bit too skinny for a zed 205/40/17, backs are 245/35/17's. anybody know if these would slot on without any mither? Was looking at being cheeky & bidding £40 a corner at weekend.....

Hi guys, i'm going to try and install a Autobox this weekend , so i'd like to take a quick straw poll on which method everyone has used. Do you put the TQ on the box or install it first on the engine. I do remember when we took the box off, the TQ was left on the engine which i took off afterwards. Dont know if that makes a difference, JeffTT did advise putting it on the box for alignment reasons, which i can understand, but then what about securing the TQ, it was hard enough without the bell housing in place. Hope you can help Rich
