So after leaving circa 2007, for Belgium and Japan, and spending most of this time without my Z. I have decided, the snow is finally melting, the road-salt is gone, and I want to bring the Z back on the road this summer. The Z has been standing, but occasionally used in this time, and after firing her up recently there is nothing wrong, a local Z specialist changed what was necessary for Belgian MOT (pads/ and a water hose mainly) but there is nothing really wrong. On the RR she is just down a bit on power, suspecting safety boost, but there is a mix of old fuel in there.... I have given up the legislation fight of fitting Belgian plates, so I will stick with UK p…

Its come to my attention over time thats parts for our cars are hard source and expensive. Availability of quality kit is poor from within the uk and oem parts are dropping off the availability list like flys. Being an entusiast club part of our responsibility is to ensure the marque is represented and preserved. A serious prerequiset to this is availability of parts. Most other cars have many pattern parts available, and aftermarket stuff, we simply dont. I do not wish to pick on anyone but compare our z part retailers to those in the us or oz, zcentre is tiny, its not even affilated with the owners club! Not to mrntion the price. Getting onto the twinz range, that canno…

The company that I entrusted to install the tyres on my new 19" Volks damaged the paint on the face of one of the rims, oops! They were very apologetic and have agreed to have the wheel refurbed no questions. However!... The wheels are painted in a colour that Volk do not publish the paint code for, nor will they supply paint, called formula silver. The refurb company have just been round and said it will be hard to match but he thinks he can get it close enough. If I wanted the other wheels doing to match it would cost £65+vat each for the other 3. The tyre company have said, if it doesn't match then they will pay to paint the other 3, but only based on the wheels …

Hi, Can anyone tell me if the headlight wiring is part of the main engine loom (with the fuse box etc), or is it this one - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330894538614?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 There is also a harness that goes over the inner wing, but it doesn't seem to be that one as far as I can tell. I will at some point will need to replace the harness that goes from the pod to the headlights, either that or mess around with wiring. I was looking at the wiring on my shell, but couldn't work out where it was going, not without removing it. If anyone knows I'd be most grateful! :)

I want to remove this double-sided sticky stuff which someone used to stick these flaps on. I've tried scalpel and then lighter-fluid and then flew to Neptune on the back of a white swan. So I opened the window and took some deep breaths. You can see I took a bit off at the top edge but it took a bleedin' age. The double-sided stuff is clearly bodywork grade as it just does not want to shift. At least not with lighter-fluid. Can anyone suggest a solvent which might take the sticky gunk off but not melt the rubber? TIA

If anyone wondered why we were reluctant to continue working with the Twinz over their body kit designs last year, the last update on the Z1 site is a clear indicator why, pre-orders started in November 2012 and only this month (April 2013) more than 4 months later is there any hope of customers seeing the product, given the HUGE market for z32 stuff in the US it just would not work in the UK on that basis, they need to commit to manufacturing a stock level without pre-orders, imaging ordering your food from Tesco`s whilst they....grow it! or TV from ASDA while it is been manufactured with a 50% upfront deposit I bet there is a few nervous buyers waiting to see if Z1 is…

This is the 99 spec front fasica except the indicator housing are able to accept the stock 89 spec indicators. http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_12&products_id=5996 I for one would be happier to fit that as it means I don't have to buy those damn expensive 99 spec side repeaters.

good news and some bad. Bad. My zed is at the garage having all new sills and arches replaced by a mate. they have been doing the passenger side completely between other jobs, but for the last month the car has been jacked up on the drivers side wheels only, not been started and no battery connected. Nearly finished the drivers side now, but its now jacked on the passengers side, when they had all four wheels on the floor, connected battery and started instantly, no issues, even took it round the block and made sure all was good. But for some reason, when its turned off, with key removed, the fuel pump is still working, remove battery, all stops. remove fuel …

Last night i noticed the car over revving slightly and steam coming from the engine bay. This was only after a 5 min drive. I left it until this morning when cool, and i had to put nearly 5ltrs of water back into the rad. I looked under the car and water was dripping. Does anyone know were it could be leaking from? Cheers

Is there a tips & tricks section that I've not seen on here yet? Workshops etc. , that sort of thing. For example, I concocted something up the other week that I'm sure would be useful to other Zedders....during an issue with my zed that transpired to be a faulty MAF, I discovered that the mounting plate for my k&n filter was cracked at the base where the bolts go through. Only 2 of the bolts were holding it on cos the plastic had fractured. Priced up a replacement mounting plate on eBay and was all set to depart with a few quid when I came up with an idea.......went outside, cut the air filter end off my old MAF, sanded it down to get rid of any loose plastic &am…
